The reasons of his mysterious wellness and relax are multiple, but they don't really come from the fact he is with Christoph.
Sure, she contributed to it, but her care isn't everything.

His amnesia kind of 'resetted' him to the moment he left his time.
When he woke up, the last memory he had was his mother's guards pushing him through a mysterious portal he had no idea where it would lead to.
As soon as he opened his eyes, he could tell that the symptoms he felt were the consequences of pre-hypovolemic shock, but he couldn't remember how he ended up losing blood. The only assumption he could make is that he figured got wounded during the time-travel or because he landed somewhere unsafe outside of it.
The pain of his back (that was actually coming from a wound he got from ShiHao) seemed to confirm his hypothesis.

But the real source of his different attitude comes, mostly, from how different his 'new arrival' conditions were, compared to the ones of his real arrival.
Back then, he found himself totally alone in a country he knew nothing of. He was lost and scared, but had to do everything on his own, trade for money, settle. And naturally he went through many unpleasant situations, during that time: he got scammed, robbed, threatened, mistreated by many.
In addition to that, the scary first experiences with 'Jaguar' awakened his anxiety issues and added to the pile.

Though, the main three reasons that made him feel so unhappy and unloved, were 3:
• Finding out he was just a clone of QinShi;
• Being raped by ShiHao;
• Finding out he IS the cure to the plague.
These three awarenesses shattered his whole world, destroyed his trust on people, how could he trust anyone when his own parents were like that?, and caused him all sort of complexes of not being an actual person, not having a soul and so on.

What changed now?
Well, when he woke up, he found himself somewhere totally safe. With a person knowledgeable and kind, who was taking care of him and who surely wouldn't abandon him around. Starting his 'adventure' with someone backing him surely gave him a whole different feeling than starting all alone.

After spending some days with Christophei, and getting to trust her quite easily, he decided to tell her the truth about his 'arrival', the future, the plague and such. At the mention of that, she promptly told him that the plague, in their time, had just been eradicated as the source of it had been destroyed.
That information too changed his whole view on everything. Not just it allows him to feel free and without the burden of finding a cure or a solution to it, it also gives him the convinction that maybe his eomeoni knew of that circumstance and sent him to this specific time to save him from the potential destruction of their future, not to carry out some terrible mission.

The first days he cried a lot, but also slept a lot due to being very weakened from the blood loss (body of an adult produces around half litre of blood per week), but he also recovered fast: it's quite better to mourn the people one loved with affection than with doubt, disappointment and resentment.

Right now, he feels like the kid he is. He is confident of his skills, since he has had no reasons to doubt himself so far.
He is free and relaxed without worrying about himself or the whole.furure or their world. No wonder he can't have the same attitude of the 'real' LaNi.

Slap.

It has been days of hell, for him. No matter how Leo wakes up every morning and tries to comfort him.
The awareness Leo is just a product of ShiHao's mind doesn't make it better, either. It wasn't hard for him to figure out, even from the first time. The person who falls asleep is not the same that opens his eyes. Looking at it, it can only be DID. The person he got to like doesn't exist and caused him to end up in hell.

He can't save himself and he knows nobody will come.
Even if someone was looking for him, who could ever find that place? So remote and isolate, probably there isn't even a teleporter in Xhuanghen who'd be able to get there.

~

No matter how much he begs Leo to not drink the potion to sleep, he refuses to listen, since he knows that if he disobeys the rules now, the one who'll get endangered will be LaNi.
As every day, Leo falls asleep at 5pm and shortly after, ShiHao wakes up. This time, not even ten an hour later.

LaNi tried to escape every day, but always failed. He is in a mental mess and the teleportation from those areas in quite difficult. He tries to run, but always gets caught.
This day too, he doesn't even manage to get past the gate that he feels his hair being grabbed and he gets roughly pulled backwards.
ShiHao slaps him, so hard that LaNi falls, totally stunned because of the hit. Plus, he has barely eaten and slept in those days, he is badly weakened and got beaten many times, and worse things.

After pouring a strong disinfectant in the water of the lake, to purify it from the dangerous bacteria, he returns straight home where he finally opens the mysterious bag nobody gave a f*** about. Seunghyun gave it to him, even after being told he is not QinShi but his son.

He browses through his 'father's' belongings, finding all the items close-future QinShi had with him before he died.
He reads his notebook-diary, the medical reports notebook and takes a look at the small inventions he was carrying around. He also finds the wedding picture and ring, the first one from the first wedding, the only one he didn't return to his husband, since it was provided by the priests.
He can tell for sure that the QinShi that bag belonged to was a much different person that the QinShi who created him in his lab.

What catches his attention the most is the special suit, that Seunghyun put in that backpack with all the other things that belonged to that QinShi. He remains to study it for quite a while, finding it intriguing and curious.
Also, after seeing all those things and discovering about the close-future QinShi who died in the past, he started to understand some things his father told him, like that he felt as if he had two souls inside of him. "It wasn't a feeling, he really had two souls..." he murmurs to himself.
"Maybe is this why you created me like this? So that I wouldn't risk to end up like this poor version of you?" He takes a deep breath. "No risk, abamama. I would never allow myself to be so good." The saddest part is that he will never get to personally beat JinGoo up to a pond of blood.

박사님.

After that matter with the fight, he and AeHee decide to just return to the village and keep a low profile for a while. AeHee definitely doesn't feel at ease to pretend to be his father around, despite he has quite a lot of influence, that could come handy. He just feels wrong doing that.

On the way to the gate, AeHee decides to stop by a food stand to buy something to eat for that evening.
While the other waits for his turn to buy the food, LaNi takes a few steps, looking around.
He happens to overhear the conversation between a couple of men, talking about someone close to death.
"... Ye, the Princess doesn't have long left", murmurs one of the men, in a very low tone.
LaNi reaches one of the three tiny, colourful rings right above his left lobe. They look like piercings, but they are not. They are to actually regulate his hearing, volume, frequency, intensity, isolate sounds... he definitely has a few improvements.
"Aish, that poor thing", mutters the other man. "The physician could do nothing about it?"
"Ani, they have called all the best physicians of the Empire, that child is condemned. Aigoo... how can such a thing happen to a young girl?"
"It won't bring anything good to the nation, you'll see. The death of a young Princess is the worst of all the bad omens!"

"How old is she?" suddenly asks LaNi, causing both the men to turn around, baffled and worried.
They look at each others. "4 years old."
"What does she have?"
"It seems to be an infection, but it was noticed too late." One of the men motions the other to just leave fast.

LaNi remains there, his mind in a total chaos of thoughts all together.
When AeHee finishes to buy the food, he approaches him and shakes him a little. "LaNi? Are you all right?"
"Hyung... I think I'm going to die."
"Eh?!"
And LaNi starts to run at a very crazy speed, not supernatural for auriold's standards, but almost.
"YAH! WHERE ARE YOU... AISH!" And AeHee starts to run too, not managing to keep his pace. "He is going to kill me today!"

LaNi runs all the way towards the Imperial Palace and when he reaches the walls, he stops by the gate. His heart is pumping like crazy and his mind is working at 1000. "I can save the Princess, let me see her!" he tells to the guards, whom, of course, don't take him seriously the slightest bit and aim to kick him away.
He fights them and KOs them relatively fast, then climbs the wall and starts to run from there, to avoid to be slowed down too much from the guards.
In some spots it's inevitable to jump down, in others to fight, but eventually he manages to make his way to the central part of the Palace.

There, he grabs a maid who was walking by and shakes her a little. "Where is the sick princess? TELL ME!"
The maid screams, but eventually answers: "T-to the nursery!" And points the direction.
LaNi lets her go and starts to run again, sharpening his hearing and setting it so that it will be the most useful to find the right place faster.
When he finally reaches the building, he rushes inside and closes the door, locking it and kind of barricading himself, and all the people who were inside before, in.

He quickly enters the room where the little Princess is, ignoring whoever else could be inside, not even listening to them if they speak to him, he'll do what he has to even if they put a blade under his neck.
He wears his own gloves, that he had in his pockets, and starts to check the vital signs, the eyes, the mouth, the finger tips, the nails, everything, but it's when he checks the top of her head that he gets the answer. He shuts his eyes. "It's meningitis..." Auriold children can contract viruses and bacterial infections, as well as weakened adults.
Bacterial meningitis - two words entirely unknown to the best physicians of Xhuanghen, whom probably suggested to pray as the only therapy.

He throws his bag on the table nearby and starts to search for the few items he has. "These will have to do..." he mutters to himself, taking a thin syringe and filling it with a bright white liquid. He injects the Princess with the content and her entire body gets completely frozen. Since the situation is critical, he did the only thing he could to buy himself some time.
Luckily the physicians still have a good amount of fine ingredients that he can use, much better than they'll do for the next 500 years.
He can't get an antibiotic as powerful as what he'd be able to synthesize in his lab at home, but something decent enough. Given the circumstances, that's literally all he can do.

While he works on the antibiotic, the palace guards and some armed eunuchs manage to break inside and surround him in no time.
The mother of the Princess, though, screams at them to let him do.
"If my child is doomed to death, why should I forbid this person from trying one more time? If he does wrong, the outcome will not change..." she says in a desperate tone.
LaNi ignores everything that is happening around and just ultimates the antibiotic.
He approaches the Princess and puts her in a particular position, injecting her in a specific spot, all to make sure the cure will reach her brain the fastest. * By then, the freezing effect wore out.

He takes a deep breath and takes a glowing blue vial from his belongings, carefully pouring it in the Princess' mouth while holding her head.
Done that, he puts something inside an handkerchief and closes if, handing it to the mother of the Princess. "Give this to her when she wakes up. The big one first..."
After that, made sure that he is done with his attempt, for now, he is escorted to the dungeons of the Palace and left in a cell, until the Imperial Family will decide how to handle the matter.

After a couple of hours, the Princess indeed regains consciousness and the physicians confirm a big improvement in her condition, although she is naturally still stunned and weak.
The mother gives her the bubble of enriched water and the nourishing pill LaNi left to her, which hydrate her body and give her some proper energy.

Meanwhile, in his cell, now that he calmed down and his mind has started to work normally again, he finally realises how he left AeHee like that and how worried he must be. It makes him feel so dreadful to think about it.
He curls up in a corner and takes his head in hands. "Mianhe, hyung..." he sobs.

"Are you wondering what these are for?"
A voice forces LaNi to snap out of his thoughts, while staring at that stand at the fair, after AeHee moved. He looks at who spoke and his eyes crosses those of MinHo, who is staring at him. He jumps and takes a step to the side.
"The roots, I mean", says the other, kindly.
"Aniyo, I just... had some thoughts, it was not related to the items on this stand." He bows his head and aims to walk away.
"Wait." MinHo gets on his side. "Walk with me."
LaNi's eyes widen at the proposal, he sends a glance to AeHee, busy talking with the others, and eventually accepts, although reclutantly. "Ye, naeuri..."
MinHo pats his shoulder, gently. "Don't worry, I'm not some ill-intentioned person. My name is Huang MinHo, and... I really feel we should talk."
"May I ask... why?" The fact it's his uncle gives him mixed thoughts. He never got to meet him, in the future, but he knows he was very dear to his father.

As they have made some distance from the crowd of people, MinHo stops and finally looks at LaNi again. "Do you come from another world? Or... maybe, could it be that you come from the future?"
His eyes widen in shock at the last question. It totally freezes him. "H... how..."
"Don't be alarmed. I know of other people who have come from the future. Your secret is safe with me. But I need to know."
LaNi shuts his eyes and takes a deep breath. "I-I... do come from the future..." he murmurs in a very faint tone. "How did you guess...?"
"I've noticed you, by case, several times around in the village. I think that such close similarity could only mean that you either come from another world or... that you are him, himself, but from a different time. Is it so? QinShi-ya?" NinHo gives him a soft smile.
His heart skips a beat. For a moment he doesn't know what to do, if he should lie or say the truth. But what good could it bring to lie to him about it? "Actually I..." He looks down. "I am not QinShi. My name is LaNi... Huang LaNi... QinShi Is... my abeoji..."
MinHo looks surprised and amused by the information. "His son..." He smiles widely at him. "Do you know who I am?"
"Ye... uncle..."
The other smiles widely. "Now that I know about you, you won't have to worry about anything. We'll talk again and then I'll make sure your life here will be the easiest possible."
