Waking up in Chan's arm, that same night he was taken to the cathedral, was a great relief. He had very little memories of what happened after he and Fang accidentally crossed that portal.
Even if his health has been improving fast, he is still a bit traumatised by all that happened to him. Which added to something that started even before they crossed the portal, that same night he saw Hoseok at the festival: tremendous nightmares that torment his sleep every night, making it truly difficult for him to even stay asleep for a few hours.

Chan tries to help him to cheer up and feel comfortable and he really appreciates his effort, even though he doesn't manage to feel that way just yet. Even the fact Totoro died had a very heavy toll on him.
One thing he is especially thankful for is that Chan is always being close to him, even while he trains. He himself sends a glance towards him from time to time, as to make sure he didn't go somewhere he can't see him. He would definitely panic, if that happened.

행운의 불운

The Chaos Portal could literally lead people to any place in the world, which includes some deadly and terrifying scenarios. Ending up in a remote town, compared to all the other possibilities, seems a good luck and, in a way, it is.
WooPil found himself in the dirt of a street in a completely unknown, freezing cold town in the mountainside. From the architecture, he wouldn't be able to tell where that place is in, as it's different from Lianxi but nowhere as luxurious as what he saw in Qiuwu.

Case wants, though, that the town he ended up in is under Xingxi. A very remote place, the farthest from the capital and also a pretty old conquer that the kingdom hasn't bothered to invest much on, due to it being so remote and hard to reach and keep in touch with.
WooPil had to soon realise that the place was somewhat hostile to him. A stranger with absolutely nothing, not even an ID badge on him, since he didn't have it on him when he crossed the portal.

Time one day and he got robbed of the few things he had on, which included the language amulet. Unable to even try to communicate with people, his situation kept turning for the worst.
With no money or richness to exchange, he had no way to get food or a warm and safe place to be. He was forced on the streets, in a state even worse than that he was in North Korea. The town isn't rich and finding food to steal wasn't easy.
Leaving wasn't an option, either. Outside the town, only miles of endless woods and wilderness where WooPil was sure he would have no chance to survive.

His only hope was that Chan and the others ended up in the same place. He looked for them everywhere, but it didn't take him long to figure out he was alone.
His only hope, at that point, became that someone would look for and eventually find him there, clueless that all the people who knew him actually thought he was with Chan and the others too.
Months passed and the winter got even harsher, so his condition. Freezing in the streets, close to starvation and nobody having the slightest interest in saving the nth beggar of the town.

One day, after being unable to eat anything for an entire week, WooPil reached the point of desperation for which he would do anything to survive.
Following the example of other young beggars he saw, he decides to try to sell his body in return for some money or even just a meal, he can't survive much longer and definitely doesn't want to die.

It's late afternoon, but it already looks like late night for how dark it is. Very few people around in the streets.
WooPil studies the passerbies, waiting for someone he could try with. He is scared to death, but feels like he has no other choice if he wants to live.
Eventually, he sees a teenage boy walking by, very well dressed and tidy. He assumes he must be rich and compared to the other males he saw, he gives him some slight reassurance.
WooPil approaches him and, mimicking what he saw other guys do, he clumsily tries to offer himself to him.

The other stares at WooPil for some moments, maybe pondering the offering, and finally grabs him by wrist. «Fine, let's go.» And drags him towards the only inn of the town.
They stop by the counter of the innkeeper, where the other boy asks for a room for the night.
«Also, take some warm food to the room.»
«We don't d-…» The man's words get interrupted by a gasp, as the boy lets a couple of silver coins fall on the counter. «It will be served to you in minutes!»
«More like it.» The boy speaks with a tone of superiority and sounds somewhat annoying.

Once in the room, the boy leaves WooPil go and looks at him from head to toe.
WooPil feels even more terrified, now that they are in that room. He definitely wasn't prepared to the possibility someone would actually accept to go with him. But it's been months already and he is starting to doubt anybody will come to save him from that town. Maybe they all forgot about him or gave up the searches.
«Look at you. Hmph.» The boy shakes his head, while glaring at WooPil with crossed arms. «Selling your body to me, when you wouldn't even have the guts to sell a wisp of your hair.»
At first, WooPil didn't pay attention to it, but now he realises that he can actually understand what the other says, despite not having a language amulet anymore. But he notices that under the shirt of the boy is a familiar glow — that of the amulet.
«You are filthy. You don't think I'd ever touch someone in that state. Go to wash yourself.» The boy points the door. «And don't you dare wearing those dirty rags back, after you're done!»
WooPil jumps at his words, but heads to the bathroom. Washing would be a great relief, after so long, but thinking of what will await him next, freezes him even more than the northern wind.

여유

After parting from Jamie, he decides to head outside the gates nonetheless. It started to rain, in the meantime, so there wouldn't be anyone picking olives anymore, but he goes nonetheless.
While walking in a field of fruit trees, he notices something among the mud and the dry leaves.

He approaches and crouches down to give it a closer look. It seems like a strange snake, so badly injured it's hard to even tell what its colours are.
WooPil carefully picks it up, holding its head like he saw from Jamie with the phyton, but the creature doesn't try to attack. It has big, shiny eyes like gems that seems already resigned to a certain death.
Now that he is seeing the creature this close, he realises that it doesn't seem like a snake anymore.

WooPil starts to run, under the rain and without protections, towards his home to take care of the wounded creature.

옥.

As promised, Jin Can takes him back to Lianxi. He returns wrapped into a big, bear fur blanket that was given to him by Huo Shi. Hudie had sex with another first, so he gave a gift to someone else first.

As happy as someone heading to his mother's funeral, he slowly walks back towards their home, having no clue what to expect, at this point.
He finds Chan already there, sat by the table of the main room.
He remains by the entrance and the other stands up right away, heading towards him.
WooPil remains motionless, his gaze down, eyes already red from before. He clings to the blanket with both hands.

«WooPil… let's talk…» says the other, in a totally broken tone.
«I don't want to talk about it…»
Chan gently takes him and pulls him to the table, helping him to sit. The other sits too, in front of him and takes his hands. «It is all my fault… I know that whatever I say at this point doesn't have any value… but… I swear on my life that I will never allow myself to be in the situation of doing something against my control again…»
WooPil doesn't reply anything and starts to cry.
Chan looks down. «WooPil… do you… want me to leave the house…?»
He cries louder and shakes his head, crossing his arms on the table and hiding his face against them.
«I can sleep in another room…» he sobs.
WooPil shakes his head again.

What could he even do. He always finds himself in the situation where the only person who would comfort him is the same who caused him to suffer. Not the healthiest for an already messed mind.
«Even so…» resumes Chan. «Juseyo… tell me everything I must do… I want to do everything to make it up for it… I want to do everything you want… anything…»
«Make love to me», he finally replies, after some time, still not showing his face. Of course he found a way to blame himself for it, beside not being handsome and cool enough for Chan. He didn't ask to do it, so the other had to look for it elsewhere.
«WooPil… I don't know what you are thinking, but…»
«You don't want to do it with me?» he sobs.
«It's not that! Of course I want to… I just… want it to be something special… for both, something to remember with happiness… something we both want to happen, for real…»

WooPil doesn't say anything for some time. Eventually, he raises from his position and stands up, heading to the bedroom.
He returns after a couple of minutes and hands Chan something wrapped in a red, velvet cloth. «Happy birthday…» he says, then wipes his tears with sleeve.
Chan looks stunned and his tears seem to intensify at the sight of that. He takes the gift, but instead of unwrapping it, he jumps up and hugs WooPil really tight, sobbing heavily.

어 아니유 제발!

Since his fever wasn't going down, Cloud decided to take him to the hospital. It happened the evening of the party, right before Cloud would return home for the night.
WooPil was given a room and got treated for the fever.

While he was sleeping, very late at night, he suddenly woke up, feeling like someone was observing him. He always sleeps with at least one candle on and at the hospital it was no different.
As he opens his eyes, he indeed finds someone in front of him. He is so dizzy and blurry because of the fever that he even wonders if the person is real, but as the other approaches and grabs him, there is no doubt left.

WooPil recognizes Huo Shi as Hudie's boyfriend, as he has seen them together from afar sometimes, even if they never spoke. The other takes him over his shoulders and just teleports away from there, straight inside a house. It looks like an all right place, neither poor nor luxurious.
WooPil feels really scared.

Huo Shi doesn't waste time and tells him what their boyfriends have done on their back. He is a very fiery type, they couldn't expect him to be patient or understanding on the matter.
After telling him of the betrayal, he tries to convince WooPil to go bed with him as revenge, he is a very vengeful type, but WooPil is not and it doesn't exist chance he'd go bed with someone so easily.
That annoys Huo Shi, he even considers raping WooPil, but as definitive proof that he has changed for real, he doesn't manage to do that.

Despite not intending to harm WooPil, Huo Shi decides to keep him in his secret house with him for a while, just to make Chan and Hudie panic over what he could be doing to him.
And if Hudie indeed goes to the hospital to speak to Qi, he can easily find out that WooPil disappeared and it's not hard to guess that Huo Shi is likely involved.
