Post Apocalyptic factions I have come up with (WIP
Skinners: berserked and ruthless cannibals who wear the skin of their prey, other humans. The Skinners are very dysfunctional however and rarely band together into big groups without killing each other.
Weldermen: Bandits and former soldiers who have grouped together under the rule of several chieftains, these tribal based warriors are heavily involved in the ongoing conflict with the splinter factions of the Armies of the US. The Weldermen are known for their brutal torture methods including burning metal into the skin of their enemies and even themselves! some of the unfortunates to survive such things are left permanently disfigured with metal welded into their skin...
The HateSpawn: A schism of the Weldermen formed by a mad man who disagreed with his father, one of the Chieftains and he slew his own father to take over that part of the tribe. The mad man has asserted dominance within the ranks of the Weldermen and has created his own smaller faction seperated from the Weldermen, the HateSpawn...depraved and violent mad men who show no mercy to any in their wake much like the Skinners, the Weldermen could not support such brutality...even from their own kind.
United Front Against Savagery (U.F.A.S): Is a large group of former US military advisers and generals who have come together during the apocalypse to ensure order is maintained in the remainder of civilisation. They are heavily against any form of Bandit or Survivor that does not follow their laws. They are at war with the Weldermen and the HateSpawn.

Varlos Exor Larn (Barbarian warlord oc)
Name: Varlos Exor Larn
Titles: Lord of the wastes, Lord of the hoards, and The Scourge of the North
Age: 52 (current age) 30 (age during conquest)
Gender: Male

Personality: powerful, ruthless and intelligent
Wives: 3 Women, 2 from Larn and the other is from the Eastern kingdoms
Family: Ololo Exor (first born son. 24) Lars Exor (second born son. 19)
Weapons: Two dual wield eastern blades he claimed from defeating the eastern warlords and a large battle axe he called 'Winters edge' as when he uses the blade it sends the shiver of a thousand cold lost souls into his enemies
Bio: Varlos Exor Larn is the first born of the third Larnnic king Karron Exor Larn, and he claimed the throne when his father passed away at the age of 70. When Varlos became the Larnnic king, he knew that things needed to change and that staying in the north was no longer an option. His brother, Leos Exor was a very traditional and peaceful man who did not want Varlos to go conquer the east or uncharted lands...so Varlos had his own brother assassinated to stop political turmoil, for had he gotten enough followers he could have stopped Varlos's plans for his conquest.
Varlos proceeded to in a period of 2 years, completely change the system of the Larnnic kingdoms...changing them from a kingdom based system to a hoard based system meaning they no longer had a capital, they were to travel along the land and make camp wherever was suitable. Varlos would make first contact with the Eastern Kingdoms very soon and it would be not in the way he would like.
Sometime during the fifth year of exploration, there was a hint of resistance rising in the East as a powerful army was amassing as they had heard the tales of a powerful hoard of warriors who had already destroyed several villages and made the lands barren and unlivable. The Eastern King, King Charloick Syuing was ready to meet these savages in battle as he was quoted saying to his people. Varlos did not like being shown such brute force, he preferred having his enemy cower and break beneath his might...so this would be his first true battle.
The army of King Charloick was ready and prepared, with a powerful army of 100,000 they were certainly prepared for such an invasion...or where they? Varlos was impressed by how large the Eastern army was, he met with Charloick prior to the battle and smiled "This army...is strong. I can feel it in the earth...your men are well trained and your weapons...are impressive" King Charloick was very cocky, and was not afraid or intimidated by Varlos "Yes, we are well prepared for your hoard. savage" he apparently said according to a Larnnic scribe. And with that, the two lords parted way.
The Eastern army chanted and did their traditional war dances, whilst the Hoards of Varlos just stood silently, the silence was eerie and it was to prove very effective very soon. Varlos raised his axe and yelled out something in Larnnic and the warriors started to go into a frenzy with the first two lines of the hoard being berserkers and they slammed into the Eastern shield bearers and it was a bloody first clash. King Charloick saw how fearless and savage the Hoard was, they died yet they showed no fear or pain as they tore into the ranks of the army. Charloick ordered his sun archers to open fire, the sun archers were famed for their red flame arrows that is infamous for causing fear in the ranks of their targets...there would be no such fear from the Hoard even as fellow warriors burnt to death beside them and screamed some just laughed and others were deadly silent. It is quoted here that Varlos said "AND TO DEATH WE FACE! FACE HIM WITH A SMILE OR NOTHING! DO NOT FEAR DEATH! DEATH FEARS US!"
At his point in time, it is speculated according to scribes portrayal of the battle from both sides that the Hoard had about 60,000 or 50,000 warriors so the Army of King Charloick was a larger force indeed...did that give them a victory over Varlos? no it did not.
The Sun archers failed to cause panic in the ranks of the Hoard, and they charged forth just as the last bezerkers fell. The shields met axes, and swords met pikes and spears made from cold Northern steel. Varlos watched from atop his white blue horse with a terrible grin on his face, for he knew Charloicks ranks were breaking. Charloick saw how his men were fleeing, how his soldiers were terrified of the power and voracity of these fearless warriors. He ordered his men to turn around and regroup but there was not be no mercy. Varlos raised his axe and blew the horn of Larn, as his cavalry group charged in from the side to meet the army in a bloody collision of slaughter and death that even Varlos joined in. By the end of the day, 98,000 of the 100,000 had been slain and King Charloick was taken prisoner by Varlos. They marched into the Eastern Kingdoms and sacked the place, burning and pillaging the lands and raping any woman in sight. King Charloick was placed in chains before his children and wife and was beheaded by Varlos...he had conquered the Eastern Kingdoms within a month and united more forces from his conquered foes...his forces grew stronger and stronger and he was unstoppable.
Now he grows hungry for more power, his enemies quiver in their boots for they know the Larnnic hoards approach.
Note: according to legend, Varlos had a pet war dog, it is spoken of that Larnnic warhounds are the size of lions and are very large blue furred powerful beasts but this is not proven that he indeed had one.
This OC was heavily inspired by Attila the Hun and Genghis Khan, and Viking culture.
