Different herbs, flowers and fruits can have different effects on different kitsune and nogitsune. For example, mint has the effect of a stunning drug on WooPil, but it may have none of such effects on another kitsune.
In Skylar's case, it's strawberries to have a drug effect, but not the kind that causes stun.
After the lesson with Red Dawn, he returned to TiHao's fortress and decided to head out to Shuguang for the evening.
Since he got attacked by those things, he never has the guts to show his real face outside anymore, thus he makes sure to change his appearance before to leave. Being a girl brought him to an awkward situation, so he decides to go with a manly appearance, in hope to have a quite evening. And that was not working anyway, beauty element always has that - for him - annoying "passive" effect that some people are especially vulnerable towards.
He decides to have a non alcoholic drink, to be safe, since the place is overcrowded and there are guys and girls hitting on him. He is clueless about the effect strawberries would have on him, in truth he has never even eaten them before, but the non alcoholic drink he orders is made of them.
He is sat alone by a table, slowly sipping his drinks while smiling and looking pretty cheerful and relaxed.

He would really like to find out more about that organisation, but he is too fearful.

After finding Tiao resting on the couch, he got relieved to see him back and safe, so he just decided to let him have a good sleep without bothering him. He doesn't know if the other has found something out about the aggressors, his main concern is that Miko didn't get endangered by them when he ran away like the cowardly ass he is.
The fact that as soon as he set foot out in public in this new world he got attacked made him really down. He thought that once he'd leave Dottore behind, his life would become completely safe again. Instead, he got in troubles right away and, again, without having done anything to cause it.
After wandering the fortress for a bit, he decides to go to sit in the living room for a bit, just to be by himself. He can change his look all he wants, but the wounds and bruises he got stay in every version he can take. So… he doesn't really bother to change, while inside the fortress. Also to make sure the Tiaos will always recognize him.

And since his mind is far from lucid, he has already come up with an absurd and nonsensical theory on what happened.
Once back to the fortress, he doesn't really know where to go. He doesn't want to return to their bedroom, he wants to avoid ZhongLi at all costs, in truth. For now he is just in the corridor, walking like a lost soul who doesn't know where to head to.

After the shocking revelation, and the worry that ZhongLi could seriously be the God Morax, he doesn't feel very up to go to sleep. It's around 10 pm anyway, not terribly late.

He goes to their room to wear some more elegant clothes. Naturally he resumed to wear all of his jewels, with the Castle ones in plain sight.
He heads to warn TiHao about it, so je can't say he behaves as his fortress is an hotel xD and heads to the corridor to teleport.
Anyone can join him or he can meet someone in Lianxi.
