Trap!

A young girl who has lived as a rich-sick person, on an island of her own, in the most extreme luxury and who is still young and experienced is definitely not prepared to deal with this kind of things.
As established with MoonBin, she buys a cake, the one in home, and places it on the ground near the camp.
Needless to say that 1 TaMu doesn't even recognize that kind of cake like food, if he had seen it, he wouldn't get close because he literally wouldn't know it's for eating 2 the dogs of the villagers devours it less than 5 minutes after she puts it out. XD

Try.

Suddenly, in the middle of a very stormy, dark, late evening, someone knocks on their door.
She looks like in profile picture, the most effeminate male they could come across in a world in which YooJin wasn't yet born.

Meetings.

Eventually, Shinrin warns her of what happened to QinShi, since he too was present at his interrogation, since he had been involved in the matter.
She is left totally baffled by the news of the curse: who would ever curse someone like him?
In any case, she goes to visit him right away, in the Temple of Recovery, where cursed people are kept after the treatments to remove the curses.

She asks the priests who work there where to find QinShi and they point her to one of the many rooms of the Temple, which almost looks like Roman thermal baths, with a lot of water and pools.
Reached the room, she walks inside and finds someone else there. Definitely not who she was expecting to see.
The other slightly jumps at her arrival. He was standing next to the - very shallow - pool-bed on which QinShi is, unconscious. "Mianhe, I'm leaving", he says, bowing his head and aiming to walk out.
"No need. You can stay." She looks at the man as he stops walking. "Renji, isn't it?"
"Ye, Your Highness."
"No need to call me that way. Not even I see myself as a Princess." She approaches QinShi and looks at him, sighing. "I can't believe it... a death curse on him."
"Someone will eventually blame it on me", murmurs Renji, always looking down.
"I doubt it. They wouldn't let you come anywhere close to this place, if they had even the slightest suspect about you. I'm surprised I'm not a suspect myself. My kind is always a good target in these situations." She takes a look at the table near the 'bed', where some items and flowers are. She takes a weird pocket clock from there and lifts it up. "Ahh, Lord Lirish was here too." She can't help but feel a bit awkward in that situation.
"Ye."
"His wife is the Grandmaster of Curses, it must have been her to tell him. You know, QinShi was his-"
"Apprentice, I know."
"You seem very close to him. Someone could mistake you for his husband or... lover." Suspect in that sense? Maybe, she is a gossip wench.
Renji shakes his head. "We used to be friends."
She moves her gaze on him and raises an eyebrow. "Used to? You aren't friends anymore?"
"I have done him a great wrong. I don't even deserve to show my face here, but I couldn't restrain myself..."
"Wrongdoings are overrated." She snorts. "Whatever wrong you could have done to him, I think that is secondary compared to the fact you are here."
He takes a breath and he approaches QinShi a bit more again. "Everything has turned so complicated... before we used to think that the time when we were left like stray dogs into a kennel, in that refugee camp, was the worst time of our lives and that once it'd pass, everything would be beautiful. It turns out that that time was actually the best of our life. Mine, at least."
"I remember you two. To probably don't, since at that time I was living under a fake identity. But I was your literature teacher for the first three years in Malicedom." She makes a slight smile.
He sends her a surprised glance at her revelation. "I missed Malicedom a lot. Especially when I was brought back and sent to Tianlein."
"Is the Eastern school really so bad?"
Renji shakes his head. "It's not the school, it's the people. And the worry that he was left alone in that camp. It was years when I found out he too was taken away from there, some years later."
"I remember you were always very caring towards him, at school, even if from afar. Professor Riddle was convinced you had a crush on him or that you two were in a secret relationship."
"Professors have nothing better to think than speculate about students' feelings?"
She shrugs. "Professors are people too, it's natural to of these thoughts. Nothing offensive anyway."

Awkward silence.
"Have you brought him some gift? I didn't know if they'd let me take something, so I came empty-handed. I wouldn't want to look greedy... I'll get him something next time."
He nods. "Ye... he loves gifts and surprises. When we were children, I used to carve wood... for his birthday I would always make one matrioska, pack It and place it somewhere he would surely find. Then I would hide and wait to see when he would find it..." He makes a slight smile, that soon turns sad. "I had prepared one for his upcoming birthday, the year I was taken away from the camp and I had never managed to give it to him." He points at a weird wooden box among the other gifts. "Quite cheap of me, I know. But I'm even poorer than I was back then. I could hardly afford the puzzle box."
She approaches the table and takes the box. "I think it's very cute of you."
"Hopefully it will be unexpected enough, I don't know where I could hide it for him to find. And I will definitely not be here when it will be."
"Why not? It looks like you've been here for a while. Why don't you wait for him to wake up?"
"I can't be here when he wakes up."
She snorts, deciding to not even try to understand the male logics in these things. "I won't be here either, I don't have too much time. But I will come back for sure. And with the gift." She approaches Renji and pats his arm. "Take care." Then just takes her leave.

Back?

So... they did what they had to and could leave the fairyland to return to the regular world, that is hopefully less crowded with demons.
*The matter doesn't have to necessarily have been solved yet. They could have failed or still have to kill the King.

They return to the house in Peru(?) to see what's the situation.

Feelings.

She brought her - favourite - brother Hazel with her, just in case. And it was a good idea, since QinShi is passed out when they arrive there. Even if he is quite small, she surely wouldn't manage to carry him.
The sight of him leaves her truly upset. She covers her mouth with both hands and recoils a little. Blood never had a good effect on her.
Luckily Hazel is not too sensitive to it, so he manages to take QinShi from Shinrin without problems.
"He needs immediate care. It appears as if the prison guards were in a hurry to get rid of him", explains Shinrin.
"How could they do such a thing to a person", she sobs, literally not managing to see him in that state. "How could the Emperor let this happen to his own blood?!"
"Jeonha probably didn't know. But you must go now, this is absolutely not the right moment to get caught. Go."
"Come with us." Carlie takes him by sleeve.
"Ani, I must go to tell them the truth."
"They will kill you!"
"It's fine, as long as I will be able to restore my honour first."
She snorts. "You and your stupid honour..."

After parting from Shinrin, they teleport to Heinmenhos, near Crowley, hurrying to reach the house of Christoph.
She is fully crying by the time they get there. She knocks many times, until the doctor comes to open. "Lord Riddle! Please, save him", she begs, still sobbing.
Christoph glances at the person in Hazel's arms and just nods without hesitation.
"I must go to see the King, meanwhile..." she sobs. "Please save him, doctor..."

In Thylum, she runs like a fury to reach the Palace the fastest possible and with Shifters' speed, that's not a hard task. She leaves all her laziness behind.
They allow her to see Julius right away, since he is not busy with state affairs.
She enters the throne room and kneels, as formally as if they were perfect strangers. "Your Majesty, I need to ask for a favor..." Carlie explains the king the whole situation, begging him to grant QinShi an amnesty, to prevent Xhuanghen to reclaim him.
She trusts Song, but not the Emperor.
"Sister, I can't grant this and you know it." Is Julius's reply. "He is the brother of the Emperor and a potential criminal, it would cause a diplomatic crisis between the countries. I can't risk the lives of thousands to save just the one you like."
"But he is a genius, a scholar, he could do great services to Heinmenhos!"
"Nein. Ask the High Priests, some among them might be willing to grant him their protection. That's all I can do for you, my sister."
She stands up and takes her leave, angry and disappointed.
Before she left, Julius adds: "I'm sorry I couldn't do more for you" and she just goes away without turning around.

Not intending to give up, she heads straight to seek the help of the High Priests. She has several options to choose among, but decides to go for the easy mode.
She enters the major Temple of Jeisin, panting heavily. She asks to see the High Priest and soon enough he shows up for her.
"What may I do for you, my child?"
"Father..." she sobs, still panting and trembling for how shaken she is turning. "There is a person in terrible danger... he will die, Xhuanghen will kill him if someone doesn't help him... please grant him your protection, Father..." She drops on her knees.
The High Priest of Jeisin promptly helps her to stand up. "Show me."

She teleports with him to Crowley and leads him to Christoph's home. It's Hazel to open when she knocks, since the doctor is still busy tending to the wounds.
They both enter the lab where Christoph is working and the High Priest of Jeisin bursts instantly into tears at the sight of the tortured body.
"Even if he had committed a terrible crime, wouldn't what he went through be enough for a punishment?" She sobs, hoping that the High Priest will show mercy.
The Priest nods at her words. "I will grant him the protection of the Priesthood." Which has political value, like for war refugees.

The next morning, following the advice of Christoph to leave QinShi with him for the night for monitoring, she decides to bring him to her house in the west, on her own island. It's a place not even her family knows of, she reveals it only to Christoph since he will have to come to check on QinShi every day.
Her butler, Bastian, comes to Crowley to carry QinShi.
In the house, they place him in an empty room all for him, leaving him to rest. He hasn't awakened yet, but Christoph said it would take a while, since he used some heavy drugs to spare him from the terrible pain.

She remains in the room for most of the time, wanting to be present when he wakes up.
The truth is that she has feelings for him, despite she knows he is the husband of Song and that anything would probably be impossible between them. It's not something she could control.
She sits near the bed with a book that she reads, while sending glances to him from time to time, to time, to see if he is still unconscious.

QinShi wakes up in the late afternoon, groaning slightly and looking clearly dizzy and in a confusional state.
She leaves the book, stands up and takes his hand in hers. "Don't worry, you are safe... nobody knows you are here and nobody knows this place."
"W-who are you..." he gasps with a lot of difficulty, hardly even managing to give a 'shape' to the sounds coming out of his mouth
"You know me, I'm Carlie. I am Song's friend. It's probably the medicines to make you feel like this." Can't believe a man could forget her.
"I must go..." he moans, but not moving a single muscle.
"You can't. No, you seriously can't move. The doctor will come to see you soon... he will confirm what I said for sure. And don't worry about him, he is a totally safe man."
"How is Song...?"
"He is fine. Nothing bad happened to us in there, it's just that the damn time went so slow that we thought we were there just for a couple of days, not weeks."
"He must never know..."
She sighs, guessing that he means what happened to him. "Even if I don't tell him, he will find out for certain. There is a chance they will even call him back. There is no way he won't know..."
"Please... I don't want him to worry... please tell him something so that he won't worry..."
She shuts her eyes. "I'm going to do that, but you don't move and don't worry yourself. You need to heal. You must get better soon..."
