Born on Earth, the human homeworld and capital of humanity, Rafeal knew nothing but severe povertiy within the slums he lived in. He grew up having to scrounge for anything he could get his hands on to survive and get by. He never knew his parents, or if he had any relatives, which left it to pure speculation.

For nearly 10 years of living in the filthy slums, Rafeal was eventually abducted by the human-survivalist paramilitary group known as Cerberus, and taken to their main headquarters. There, he was subjecated to unethical experimentations, which resulted in enhancing his body to the peak limit, and brainwashing him into becoming a field operative. He became a model soldier in the eyes of his peers. Many years later, Rafeal would eventually regain control of himself after a mission gone wrong, causing him to flee and go into hiding. Since then, he has used his skills to become a mercenary, using his skill and talents against Cerberus; even if it costs him his life.

Due to his upbringing in life, Rafeal was nothing more than a scared and quiet boy when growing up in the slums of Earth. After unwillingly becoming a Cerberus Operative, he became a ruthless warrior to Cerberus, following their orders to the letter, and never allowing himself to fail. He was a incredibly skilled Combat Engineer, having a unique interest in both technology and weapons. After finally free from Cerberus' grasp and now living the life of a mercenary, Rafael has become a silent and aloof person, never putting his trust into anyone, not even if they were his allies, or 'friends'. He has been noted to be unpredictable, both in skill and motive. However, deep down inside, he has a pure heart and is willing to fight for a greater cause, even protecting people.
