British Army (12 Years)

- 2nd Medical Regiment (7 Years)

Role: Medic/Field & Trauma Surgeon

Bio:
On that first day of school when asked the innocent question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”, six-year-old Elizabeth Reid was certain she knew the answer without a doubt: A doctor. Her resolve for the future she had imagined as a child had never waivered. Hard work had landed her acceptance into the University of Oxford and well on her way to a degree in medicine. During her fourth year, Libby’s family received the devastating news that her older brother, Colton, had been critically injured during his latest deployment with the Royal Marines in Afghanistan. It wasn’t until he had returned home to them, now a broken soldier without orders to follow, that Libby’s resolve in her future began to waiver and alter. By the time graduation had come, she had already begun the enlistment process. Colton’s life was owed to the fast action of his field medic and the surgeons on base. This was a debt that Libby felt deserved to be paid and since Colton no longer could, the payment fell to her shoulders. Her first year as an enlisted soldier in the Royal Army Medical Corps had been an eye opening experience of in-the-field training that, not that she would ever admit it, she might not have been ready for. People handle high stress situations differently. Some even clamp up and shut down when met with the opposing force of an adrenaline rush. Libby quickly realized that she wasn’t one of those people. Her mind seemed attuned to the fast-paced action and intensity of field triage and she was hooked on that driving rush. She was five weeks along and three weeks into a six month deployment to Afghanistan, when she realized there was something more to the nausea she was battling daily on the sidelines. The moment she sought out a superior officer and spoke the words aloud, it became real with a one-way ticket back to England and while wrestling with this option, she found that the days quickly turned to weeks. Ultimately this decision, or rather the lack-there-of, was made for her. The insurgents intended the RPG attack to inflict maximum casualties. While in the end, very little remained in what had served for the medical facility Libby had been working her second shift of the day in, the young woman had lost more than some blood that night. Like her brother, she too returned home a broken soldier. It didn’t take long for civilian life to get under her skin and for that need for the adrenaline rush to drive her to find something that would fill that void. Though not quite the same, the home she found at Grey Sword International, did just that.

Jacqueline "Jac" Payne - OC 4

Name: Jacqueline "Jac" Payne
Nationality: British
Gender: Female
Ethnicity: Irish/French Lebanese
Height: 5'5"
Body Build: Athletic
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Light Brown

Distinguishing Physical Features: Knight's helm with sword piercing through the middle (right forearm)

Military/Law Enforcement/Intelligence Experience:
British Army (9 Years)
-Royal Corps of Signals (3 Years)
-Special Reconnaissance Regiment (6 Years)

Role: Communication/Special Reconnaissance

Bio:
Born to immigrant parents in Manchester, England, Jacqueline “Jac” Payne didn’t
grow up easy. Her mother died when she was 7 years old, leaving her to be raised by her father. Growing up, Jac was a through and through tomboy, occasionally getting into fistfights in the schoolyard with boys over her undying love of the Manchester United football club. When she was 18, Jac decided that she wanted to join the Army to support her father. Since direct combat roles weren’t open to women, she served her first three years in the Royal Corps of Signals, where she worked with communications maintenance and operating. When a new unit, known as the Special Reconnaissance Regiment, was formed, it was accepting both men AND women from throughout the Armed Forces. Jac immediately volunteered and during the grueling selection process, she met and befriended veteran S.A.S. sniper Gordon Wolfe, who commended her for her remarkable shooting and tight groups. It was likely this commendation that inspired Jac to volunteer for Sniper School. She would go on to serve in the S.R.R. for 6 years in both Communications and Special Reconnaissance. She earned a Conspicuous Gallantry Cross for her part in the rescue of British humanitarian aid workers who were kidnapped by Syrian militants. As Jac was preparing for what would have been her 7th deployment (3rd to Afghanistan), she was returned to England as her father was suffering from a terminal case of Liver Failure. After her father passed, she elected to leave the Army on an “Emotional Distress Discharge”. Now, with no family left and no desire to fight for England anymore, she decided to get in touch with her old friend Gordon. After learning of employment opportunities at the multi-national PMC Grey Sword, Jac sold her home, moved to America and is currently putting her sniping and intelligence gathering skills to use for an exceptional paycheck.

Yelena Zaharov - OC 3

Name: Yelena Zaharov
Nationality: Russian
Gender: Female
Ethnicity: White
Height: 5'7"
Body Build: Athletic
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Hazel

Distinguishing Physical Features: None.

Military/Law Enforcement/
Intelligence Experience: None

Bio:
Life is nothing but a series of events that seem to divide existence into two halves: before and after. For Yelena Zaharov, before embodied a life of wealth and privilege. The first born to a powerful Russian Oligarch, she wanted for nothing. She and her younger brother Nicholai lived a life of love, innocence, and childish wonder. Had she only known that world would come crashing down around her in bullets and flame. Her father’s political influence had brought many threats to their door over the years, most powerless and idle. The night of the attack had been full of losses. Her father and mother, gone. Nicholai, gone. That childish innocence, gone. Her life saved but not without cost. After, however, had found the young Russian girl in a world of uncertainty and pain. The girl that Yelena had been was gone, like her family, and had to be forgotten. She could never return to her home. No one must ever know that she had survived. These were all things that Red Shadow, the secret government-funded operation responsible for saving her, had convinced her to be true. Forced into military training under the false pretense of it being for her safety and protection, Yelena was a quick study with a knack for information and technology. Under the instruction of a young soldier named Pavel, this knack was quickly turned weapon (after all, when you learned from the best, you became the best). Over the next eight years, she worked as an asset for Red Shadow, completing missions that required a more sensitive and quiet execution. Neither black or white, nor good or bad, Yelena hated the woman she had become. Out of the desperation for a fresh start and to take herself off of Red Shadow’s radar, she faked her own death and escaped to the United States. Though in the end, she was exactly as they had groomed her to be: a perfect Russian doll; you opened one version of her only to find there was another version hidden within.

Marcus Kennedy - OC 2

Name: Marcus "Marc" Kennedy
Nationality: American
Gender: Male
Ethnicity: African American
Height: 6'1"
Body Build: Muscular
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Brown

Distinguishing Physical Features: shredded black and
white flag with a single blue stripe hanging from a cross
with the words Blessed are the Peacemakers" (left side
of chest)

Military/Law Enforcement/Intelligence Experience:
Los Angeles Police Department (24 years)
- Narcotic Division (7 years)
- S.W.A.T. (11 years)

Role: LAPD SWAT Team (2IC/Pointman)

Bio:
A rough start on life was all that growing up in the west side of Chicago ever gave the Kennedy boys. Their father, a single parent, did his best to ensure that his boys had a roof over their head, food in their bellies, and dreams in their hearts. He couldn’t be blamed for the fact that they weren’t able to step two feet out of the four walls of that run-down, too-small apartment they called home without having gang violence shoved in their faces. A juvenile record for burglary, petty theft, and assault secured Marcus’ spot within the Four Corner Hustlers, a local street gang with a reputation for violence. Not quite the dream his father had intended, the man fought to pull Marcus back from the path he was insistent on charging down. In the end, the Four Corner Hustlers would be his father’s downfall too. Having only shown up to drag Marcus home, his father had been shot and killed after walking into the middle of the drug deal that Marcus had been part of. At eighteen and without parents, Marcus moved his brothers and himself across the country to Los Angeles to follow in his father’s footsteps and protect them from the life he had been living. Though the thought of enlisting crossed his mind, he couldn’t bear the thought of leaving his brothers behind, and instead enrolled in the Los Angeles Police Acadamy. After all, why go overseas to fight a war when there were casualties in the streets. After a number of years, he worked himself up through the ranks, made a name for himself, and took a spot in the Narcotic Division before finding his home with LAPD’s SWAT Unit.

*******************************************************************************
Being the only child born to immigrant parents in Queens, New York, her parents swore to giving her a world outside of the life they had lived in their native India. Giving her that "All-American" name at birth was, in their mind, the first step to doing just that. It had come as a surprise when the wanderlust they had practically bred into her soul had become something she wanted to pursue. Being told that she couldn't quickly became more of a reason for her to become more adamant in doing it (something that would follow her through her adult life). Much to the disappointment of her parents, Frankie enlisted in the United States Navy when she turned eighteen, just two months shy of her high school graduation. Even she had been surprised by her decision, but the Navy offered the travel bug in her everything it wanted. Maybe even more surprising, as the years passed she realized that she enjoyed the Naval life and was damn good at what she did. She quickly worked her way up through the ranks, seemingly on a mission to do more and see more. As a Lieutenant Junior Grade (LTJG), she volunteered for Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) screening (having only recently opened to female soldiers) and was accepted. Despite all of the naysayers who insisted that a woman wouldn't/couldn't survive the course, after a grueling year of training and screenings that were both mentally and physically exhausting, she became a member of the elite soldiers of the US Naval Special Warfare Group Two - SEAL Team Four. During a covert operation Frankie took the brunt of a blowback of shrapnel, shattering her right clavicle and scapula and nicking that carotid artery. With the aide of her fellow team members, she managed to hold on through the extraction and after multiple reconstructive surgeries, was given a Medical Discharge. -- After recovering and returning to her family in Queens, Frankie busted her ass to regain the mobility of that injured shoulder and though her range of motion remains effected, found normalcy. Having spent the majority of her adult life in the military, she found the day-to-day life of a civilian tedious and dull. With the recommendation of a former teammate, she acquired a job in Quantico as a Federal Officer for the Department of Homeland Security.
