Bio:
Born to immigrant parents in Manchester, England, Jacqueline “Jac” Payne didn’t
grow up easy. Her mother died when she was 7 years old, leaving her to be raised by her father. Growing up, Jac was a through and through tomboy, occasionally getting into fistfights in the schoolyard with boys over her undying love of the Manchester United football club. When she was 18, Jac decided that she wanted to join the Army to support her father. Since direct combat roles weren’t open to women, she served her first three years in the Royal Corps of Signals, where she worked with communications maintenance and operating. When a new unit, known as the Special Reconnaissance Regiment, was formed, it was accepting both men AND women from throughout the Armed Forces. Jac immediately volunteered and during the grueling selection process, she met and befriended veteran S.A.S. sniper Gordon Wolfe, who commended her for her remarkable shooting and tight groups. It was likely this commendation that inspired Jac to volunteer for Sniper School. She would go on to serve in the S.R.R. for 6 years in both Communications and Special Reconnaissance. She earned a Conspicuous Gallantry Cross for her part in the rescue of British humanitarian aid workers who were kidnapped by Syrian militants. As Jac was preparing for what would have been her 7th deployment (3rd to Afghanistan), she was returned to England as her father was suffering from a terminal case of Liver Failure. After her father passed, she elected to leave the Army on an “Emotional Distress Discharge”. Now, with no family left and no desire to fight for England anymore, she decided to get in touch with her old friend Gordon. After learning of employment opportunities at the multi-national PMC Grey Sword, Jac sold her home, moved to America and is currently putting her sniping and intelligence gathering skills to use for an exceptional paycheck.
