Muse A is a successful, famous celebrity, known by many people across the planet. One of the most eligible bachelorettes/bachelors. But this celebrity doesn't want to be tied down and just wants to have fun and enjoy life. (They're rather afraid of the word commitment) But their father/mother insists that Muse A gets in a relationship, claiming they want grandchildren and whatnot. With a heavy heart, they try looking for a partner.

*Muse B - Option 1*
❝ Even though you're bad for me, I know
You're the one that I'm thinkin' ❞

Muse B is just a normal civilian. You're average Joe or Plain Jane. Except for the fact that they're giant fans of Muse A. Like seriously, their friends are concerned but Muse B doesn't care. They fantasize about them, make fanfictions of them or read them, buy all their merch, anything a superfan would do.

But you gon' have to let this sh*t go❞

Muse B could be the complete opposite. This Muse B is a friend of a superfan. Muse B could care less about Muse A and often wishes their friend would cool down the obsession, claiming "you need to let this (Muse A's name) sh*t go."

❝Love me, love me, baby
Are you down? Can you let me know?❞

When Muse A encounters Muse B they have no clue who they are. All Muse A knew was that they needed to hire someone to be their pretend boyfriend/girlfriend. Giving Muse B all of their contact information and a brief idea of the plan, they left Muse B there to decide if they were down to be in a relationship with Muse A. Muse B#1 was head over heels for Muse A. Muse B#2 had some serious debt that the reward money would cover and give them plenty extra. So they called Muse A up and agreed.

❝ Love me, thank you, leave me
Put it down, then it's time to go
Get it like you love me
But you don't, boy, it's just for show ❞

Muse A and Muse B meet up to go over the contract. Muse A explains that the contract is a secret between the two of them and no one must know that it's fake. They also explain that it's just for show. They won't be in an actual relationship. They just need to show up, pretend that they're in love, then leave.

❝Take it or leave it, you gotta take it or leave it like uh-uh❞

Muse B#1 wants more, they want to be in an actual relationship. To which Muse A tells them that they're lucky that they've even gotten this far with Muse A and to just take it or leave it.

❝No, we won't be talking the next day
I ain't got nothin' to say
I ain't looking for my one true love
Yeah, that ship sailed away❞

Muse A further explains that they're not looking for a serious relationship, hinting that they've been hurt in the past before.

I know what you need, but it won't be me❞

Over time, Muse B is starting to catch serious feelings for Muse A. Over time, Muse A starts catching feelings for Muse B but knows they'll most likely hurt Muse B. With a heavy heart, Muse A suggests to cancel the contract, saying that they don't want this fake relationship anymore. Muse B gets excited and takes it the wrong way, thinking that Muse A wants to be in an actual relationship. Muse A breaks Muse B's heart when they explain that they feel that Muse B should not be held down in this relationship and should go out and find someone that'll make them truly happy.

Muse A has always been quiet, insecure, and reserved so when an outgoing and cheery Muse B shows up, they light up Muse A's life. The unexpected couple gets together and they live happily with each other. Everything is great! Until...

Muse B is a vibrant, lively person who goes to parties. Muse A prefers not to go and stays home. One night, Muse B gets drunk and accidentally kisses someone who looked like Muse A. Once they realize that it's not Muse A, they panic and run out, crying. Feeling terrible, they call Muse A to confess what happened, insisting it was a mistake.

❝ Are we together? Are we undone? ❞

Remember when I said, Muse A is insecure. Well, they still are. Muse A felt like they didn't deserve Muse B, that they were only with Muse A for pity or some prank so when this happens, they start panicking. Has everything been a lie? Was this part of their plan? They're not sure what to make of it.

❝ Thought we were forever, but maybe we're not ❞

But that's not it at all. Muse B truly loves Muse A and wants to be with them and only them. They want to stay with Muse A. But Muse A still has doubts.


❝ Your words hurt like hell ❞

They remain together but there's a strain on their relationship. Muse A doesn't talk much with Muse B anymore and says hurtful things to them, using Muse B cheating as an excuse.

❝ I know I f***ed up a couple times ❞

Muse B can't take it. They know they messed up but they took responsibility and they have been trying to make it better. It doesn't give Muse A an excuse to be a complete prick to them.

❝ Tell me it's over. Tell me it's done. ❞

Muse A is begging Muse B to just confess that they don't truly love them so they could leave. Muse A has no hope and doesn't believe Muse B loves them so they want to leave so Muse B can be with someone they truly love.

❝ Tell me you love me, that I'm the one. Tell me where your heart lies ❞

Muse B keeps trying to convince Muse A that they love them but Muse B can’t help but feel that maybe Muse A just doesn’t love them anymore and is using this as an excuse to leave.

❝ Just tell me! ❞

Basically, Muse B “cheats” on Muse A by accident and it puts a big strain on their relationship. Muse A is thinking maybe they just weren’t meant to be and Muse B is wondering if Muse A just doesn’t love them. They both don’t want to leave the relationship but wonder if it would be better for the other person if they did leave. Basically, they really need to talk it out but Muse A never wants to. Muse B is trying their hardest to get something out of Muse A since Muse A turned cold and expressionless/emotionless.

In this story, Muse A and Muse B are close friends. Muse A falls in love with Muse
B and Muse B knows it. Muse A is Muse B's rock, when everything goes to crap
Muse A was always there for Muse B so Muse B does care about Muse A but never has time. Muse B often puts others before Muse A and leaves them hanging most of the time but Muse B knows that Muse A will always be there for Muse B to come back to. It's a pretty toxic relationship if you let yourself think about it but
Muse A endures it all because they still love Muse B.

Then one day, Muse A finally has enough.
