Nikos Cole - Ups and Downs
"Ups and downs, ups and downs, baby. We'll make this life a rollercoaster! Don't go down too hard, or the ground'll hit you."

Work in progress... I'm still working on building this character. He is a more slice of life modern world type character. Though I like to include some fictional elements in any story. I think of it as 'real life plus', or the James Bond style of a cool but familiar setting.
Nikos is fairly outgoing, though he doesn't mind being alone tinkering with nerdy things or simply lost in thoughts. When he is with others, he enjoys the thrill of dangerous challenges. Enjoys attempting things which others would not, especially when he has an audience.
He does inevitably get into trouble, which is when his more serious and calculating side comes out. Too playful and goofy for his own good while things are good, surprisingly smart and strategic in a crisis.

Nikko specializes in combining fantasy with sci fi, magic with technology. He might try to experiment and run tests on anything and everyone.
If something works, Nikko will break it open, probe it, dissect it, analyze it, put it back together backwards, flip it upside down, turn it on again, and learn how it works. But most importantly, he wants to know all about you.
Personality:
Nikko has a strong ego. He is proud of his ego and takes good care of it. But don't worry, he can be kind. He would rather prove his superiority than to force you to respect him.
Backstory:
You may find out in time, but what's important is that the future is way more exciting that the past. The mistakes don't matter, only the opportunities do.

Zendrick Syn - the Timeless Traveler
"Alright, get up. We continue as planned. This is how it's gonna work..."
Age: 25-50
Zendrick, or Zen, travels light and fast until he discovers something, or someone worth stopping for. He works alone until he meets someone worth knowing or working with.
Always curious and always learning about the world. He may know of many stories and many dangers from his past. But those are all behind him now, at least until they catch up. So he travels light and fast so that they don't catch up. Though Zen might be worth talking to if you happen to run into him.
What type of story he creates:
A mix of mystery and action. He will be polite but somewhat distant at first, but will quickly find something to catch his interest. He's not quite the mentor type, but can be a great and reliable partner in any challenge, not just combat. He would not hesitate to get himself and others into dangerous situation if it means making progress towards a goal. He may be caring at times, but not protective.
The backstory depends on the RP and the setting. It will likely involve a long and free, but messy life. He may have served in some sort of military in the past, or may have lived on a pirate ship, or perhaps a hunter for a living. He has earned his right and skill survive alone without support, but there is more to living than just surviving. He would need help with that.

Lasari Cole - Genius with Guns
"Back there? I was a warrior, a survivor, and a myth. Out here I'm just a nerdy girl looking to solve some problems."
Age: 150+, as a former leading researcher in life extension, she holds the record as the oldest human alive
Appearance/health age: 25-35
Lasari is a scientist and innovator first, fighter second. The combination of intelligence, exceptional memory, and long lifetime are a perfect recipe for a top tier genius. While a capable fighter and survivor, she will rarely put her life at risk willingly. It would be a shame to waste her long life to a stray bullet.

Lasari focuses on solving problems before relationships. She is nice, but not very romantic. She may move fast and multitask, or get lost in thoughts for hours.
Backstory:
Born on Earth to a wealthy family, Lasari Cole went through accelerated education to graduate at age 15. She gradually built up her career in science and medicine, then joined the team that finally put all the pieces of the puzzle in slowing and reversing aging. This could not grant immortality, but gave her a few more decades of youth and life.
She intended to use this extra time well, so she joined an ambitious full VR training program, meant to prepare humans for dangerous situations in anticipation of colonizing new worlds. 7 years later, this VR Survival project was shut down due to lack of government support and ethical issues, but Lasari was awarded another life extension for her participation and achievements in this virtual world. She hopes to one day return to that world where death is only a setback, not an end.
Lasari returned to studying physics and other science fields. Over the next few years, her new teams made significant breakthrough in battery technology, genetics, as well as the new revolutionary 'relativity bypass' technology which would enable spaceships to accelerate even past the speed of light at a reasonable energy cost. It was logical that Lasari be among the first to colonize another solar system.
