(Human x mermaid)
Character A is a human.
A goes to the beach, swims in the ocean, finds a sick looking amulet and then goes home with it. All goes well.
Until that night they wake up because someone has broken into their house.
Character B is a mermaid now in human form and is furious at A for taking their amulet.
Mermaids usually have to have some kind of jewelry to offer to a potential mate during mating season, so B needs it back before it starts or else they won't find a mate.

(Prince x mermaid)
Character A is a prince, ridiculously spoiled rich. His castle is huge, to the point where just walking through it once would be exhausting.
He's not allowed to leave his castle very often so he starts to complain to his servants (and anyone who will listen really) that he wants to see the ocean. He's never seen it in person and he's pissed about it.
One day he discovers that his complaints have been heard and listened to, just not in the way he wanted. Instead of taking him to the ocean, his servants tried to bring the ocean to him. They've made a room dedicated to being an aquarium room and filled with it the most beautiful and rare creatures they could find.
None of it really captures A's interest… until he sees B. B is a mermaid. Or rather merman. He's never been so close to humans before and he's obviously terrified since he's basically been captured and put in a strange environment.
A kind of feels trapped too. But when he sees B, he's immediately infatuated.

(Vampire x human)
Vampires and humans both exist but not exactly in peace. They live separately from each other, in different regions. Humans are usually terrified of/hate vampires. It's not exactly illegal for a vampire to be in human's territory, but it's so dangerous that it might as well be, since they will be hated by everyone.
Character A is a human who has never seen a vampire in real life, but he grew up with stories about them. His mom always told stories about how when she was a little girl she got injured while playing in the woods, and vampires found her because they smelled her blood. But she says that instead of attacking her, they healed her wound and helped her find her way home, but she stayed in contact with them and met up with them in secret. She told A that the whole "bloodsucking" thing is propaganda and that vampires are actually vegetarians.
After his mother's death, A becomes very interested in vampires, almost obsessively. He's kinda an outcast because he won't shut the f*** up about vampires. He graffitis walls using fangs as his tag, he puts up posters defending vampires, draws them, etc.
He secretly hopes to meet one someday.
Then one day, he gets his wish.
Character B, a vampire, shows up with nothing but a bag for basic supplies.
Everyone panics, so A hears about this quickly and immediately is enthusiastic to find B and talk to him.
A knows that B has basically nothing and desperately needs a safe place to live, since he will most likely die otherwise. But when he finds him alone hanging out behind a bar, B immediately attacks him and tries to drink his blood.
A gets away, but what will he do now knowing that the vampire he expected to be peaceful and kind, actually wanted his blood?

What is doesn't know is that he was almost right. Vampires aren't vegetarian, but they only drink animal blood now. But they are weak because of this. B was exiled because he was caught feeding off human blood. Vampires are just as fearful of humans, so they were angry B brought one into their domain and excused B of being a traitor.
Because of this, B is basically forced to live alongside humans, but is still very afraid to be close to them, including A. Especially since now that he's tasted human blood, he's basically addicted to it.

(human x vampire)
Character A is a human who one day hears news that a distance relative of theirs has died and wanted them to inherit all their wealth and their vast estate.
When they get to the home that is now theirs, it almost seems too good to be true. Although they do worry they'll feel lonely in such a big old mansion.
Still, they have fun exploring for awhile until they find something that scares them. A coffin.
Morbid curiosity gets to them and they open it. They scream when they find B inside.
B wakes up, very startled to be woken up after being asleep for many years. B was A's roommate many years ago. B tells A that they're not moving out now. So basically, if A wants the mansion, they have to share it with B or kick them out.

Angel x demon (MxM)

Character A, a demon, is hanging out with some friends in the human world, causing trouble and messing with humans.
Character B, interjects and tries to stop them, pulling out a sword and picking a fight, but almost immediately gets stabbed by one of A's friends.
They laugh as B bleeds out and walk away, leaving the angel to die.
But A doesn't get as much enjoyment out of it as they do. A makes up an excuse to leave and then runs back to B to bandage up the wound and tries to help them recover.

Character A and character B used to be friends in school but they broke up as friends after fighting over a boy. A ended up becoming more popular and abandoned B.
A couple years later A is at a party but isn't having fun. (I'm thinking they get into a fight?) They hide somewhere and having a bit of a panic attack, they go to text one of their friends to pick them up. Thing is, they never deleted B as a contact on their phone and text them instead. Will B pick them up even though it's been so long since they were friends?

(Wolf bait)
Character A is a werewolf who can't help but transform into their full wolf form under a full moon. This full moon, they were in the woods chasing a deer, but got caught in a bear trap. Character B lives by those woods and happened to be out on a walk because insomnia is a bitch. They found A and immediately tried to befriend them, freeing them from the trap and bringing them into their house so they could tend to the wound. They like A so much they want them as a pet, and want them to sleep in their house. The next morning, they are shocked to find A in full human form in their house.

(Batnip)
Same plot as above, but with a vampire instead. Character A is a vampire who can transform into a bat and fly. A happens to be in bat form flying around, but gets attacked by birds, manages to get away but lays on the ground, unable to transform into their normal form because they're injured and scared. Character B lives by those woods and happened to be out on a walk because insomnia is a bitch. They found A and immediately tried to befriend them, picking them and taking them home to take care of them and let them rest. They like A so much they want them as a pet, and want them to sleep in their house. The next morning, they are shocked to find A in full human form in their house.

(Fake fangs)
Character A is a vampire, but they don't tell anyone that. Not many people even know vampires are real.
They're not super enthusiastic about Halloween, but their friends talk them into putting on a costume and going to a party.
There they meet character B, who is obviously a lot more excited about the whole thing than they are. B is in full cliche vampire attire, fake fangs and all. They're very flirtatious towards A and jokes about wanting to bite their neck and drink their blood, not knowing that A is actually a real vampire.
A is embarrassed by the bad impression, but amused and kind of finds it charming. They wonder if this is something B is into and kinda wants to show them what the real thing is like.

(Bloodlust)
Character A and character B are best friends and roommates, but then suddenly A starts acting weird. They're cold and distant, always hiding in their room and ignoring B. Then one day B accidentally cuts their hand and goes into A's room to get the first aid kit. A suddenly holds B down and drinks blood from them. Afterwards, A frantically explains that they were turned into a vampire by someone they hooked up with, and they were hiding from B because they were scared that they couldn't control their newfound bloodlust, which seems to be especially strong around B. They don't want B to think they're a monster.

(Seven minutes in hell)
Character A and character B are in college and have classes together. They hate each other. They're sworn enemies.
Then one day they happen to be at the same Halloween party and they're both wearing masks. They're both a little tipsy and don't recognize each other so they start talking and they're immediately attracted to each other. They go somewhere private to have a little fun, but then the masks come off and they recognize each other. Ever since then, things have been... Different.
