Just a weird one I guess” he divulged this with her seeing as she was trusting him with info he may as well treat her with the same respect. “I understand tho Mercenary work isn’t for everyone. I don’t know how I’m this cheery after all my work but eh I try to stay optimistic”

Basco had turned a bit red in the face as for the real reason he had learned to spider speech. He looked away and thought up a quick excuse. “Oh well I used to have a client that was a half spider. He knew the language very well and taught me when he had time” thankfully Draxx said nothing of this lie but he knew she would rat him out if she wanted to. He’d likely die of embarrassment. “Oh yea I’m a mercenary as well” he told her as he didn’t seem to mind

Basco had taken a wide stance and acted as if he were on the waters himself. Moving his body to adjust to the waves rocking the ship. He wouldn’t say he’s used to this but he has been on his fair share of ships during a storm and liked to do this. He blushed at first hearing her laugh at him but he only did so because she had a nice laugh. He shrugged his shoulders to her answer. “It’s a bit of both. Though If you need someone to watch your back or just keep you company I’ll do it”

“Well I know how to swim” he said proudly till Draxx made a noise that he was very familiar with. “The hell are you laughing at fatty! I only drowned because I was carrying your heavy ass AH AH IM SORRY!” He started yelling comically as the arachnid was biting his ear. Not hard enough to inject venom in it but enough to get her point across. Finally getting his ear free from her fangs he rubbed it and looked at Aranella. “I met this cutie when I was doing some hunting on my way through the swamps I found her on the bank in someone’s fishing net eating up their catch. Before they could pay her back I....convinced them to not and ever since we’ve been the best of buddies” he recalled the tale with a smile. “If you want maybe I could teach you to swim someday?!”

Basco steadied himself as the ship rocked from one of the waves. Seems like the sea wasn’t going to stay calm forever. He took his attention back to Arenella. “This cutie is a wolf spider. Though she does have a nasty habit of gnawing on me when she wants snacks” he chuckled divulging that info as he was happy to see her spider come back to her. “What type is yours if you don’t me asking? I bet you take good care of your partner” he never really liked calling Draxx his pet but rather his partner in crime as she was very good at watching his back. Plus she would gnaw him for it and not let him sleep if he called her his pet too many times
