How did Carlie and Sao find out that she is his Adept/Xintú.

Due to Jackil's absence when he went to Arda to look for Sigurd and Mipa, when she felt appropriate to take Tomiel to a medical visit, she headed to Stephen's clinic, as despite things between him and Jack might not be shiny, she always found him a rather reassuring man. Certainly more than Edward, Christoph or a doctor she never even met.
She booked an appointment from his healer and at the right time she showed up at the clinic with the child.

Needless to say, being Tomiel still deeply traumatized, she was in desperate tears when they went, at the very thought of being touched by a man she did not know and thus could not trust.
To Stephen it was pretty much the usual, annoying scene he often comes across when people are forced to pick him as doctor, which made him somehow sarcastic in the beginning. Until Carlie explained to him it is normal for Tomiel, she is always that way towards new people and that if she did not trust him, she would sure as heck have brought her precious girl elsewhere.
But as it usually happens when going to doctors, it soon turned out to bad news and for Carlie herself.

After carefully visiting Tomiel and provide them with additional vials of the exact medicines Jackil chose for the girl, Stephen asked to speak with Carlie, in private.
His ability to see people's auras and to "read" souls through it showed him a clear sign.

Now it has to be said that every single Adept is marked, in a way, on their soul. With the Mystic Symbol representing the Demigod they are destined to assist. It is the kind of things Stephen notices immediately upon glancing at a person and once he realized it about Carlie, he could not simply keep the information for himself.
He had to reveal the truth to her and as imagined, she did not take it well at all. He tried to reassure her on the matter, but obviously it was useless, one does not simply accepts to be "property" of one of the most feared man in the world and definitely the most feared by her.
Of course Stephen had no ill intention towards her, he never has towards anybody, but now that she knew, she could not keep it hidden from Sao. He would find out about his Adept sooner or later, and what reaction could he possibly have when he would find out she kept the information from him?  That was Stephen's main point to convince her. He knew that it was definitely the best if she contacted him herself to tell him, rather than him doing it at her place. Though, he agreed with her request that he should be present too.
When she calmed down a little, in that same situation, she sent a message to Sao through magic mail to tell him to come there, urgently.
Despite rather busy, he indeed came to check what it was about.
And since she was crying like a fountain, Stephen told the thing to Sao, also sharing his knowledge on the Adepts, magically, with his mind.
In truth, it was beyond clear how this information pleased Sao, to a point that Stephen got really worried and even begged him to do no harm to her. But it was nothing Sao intended to do anyway. The General approached Carlie and promised her he would contact her again once he would be free, for a meeting, then pat Stephen's shoulder and took his leave.
All the Doctor had left to do at that point was to advice Carlie to have a meeting with Cato so that he could explain her their position and duties, thinking it would reassure her widely.

That same evening, she was contacted by Sao, but she managed to invent a satisfying excuse to escape that meeting, at least for that evening.
The next morning, again, and she invented another excuse to try to escape it again for that day.
That same morning she met with Cato and well, realized that trying to postpone that meeting with Sao again was more of a danger than something helpful. Last she wanted was to piss him off.

Hours later, she entrusted Tomiel to Amelis (occasion in which Tristan found out about her for the first time, ad Carlie did not speak about Tomiel to her sons, due to have lost any trust in them after Sigurd's matter)  and teleported near the abandoned burned house, where Sao has his dungeon. Always there, she doesn't even know why considering it was never him to ask to meet there.
And once there, she sends another message to Sao, telling him where she is.

He truly does not understand why she always heads there when she has to meet him, he finds it amusing in a way. And he is also rather  pleased that she decided to meet him, willingly, as it was already set that he would go to grab her when she would expect the less, after the second denial.
He reaches her there after a couple of minutes, wearing his armor / uniform as General. He has a truly amused expression on his face which doesn't reassure her, but still better than if he looked pissed off.

He approaches her close. ~I truly wonder what you have with this place. Maybe I should give you a tour inside, some day.~ His voice is quite amused too.

She doesn't reply anything, she bows very low as he comes and even kneels, trembling like a leaf. Which amuses him even more.
He is not  sadist, he doesn't feel any actual pleasure in harming people and certainly doesn't do it to random people or as a hobby, but what truly pleases him beyond measure is to see people so scared of him. When a person acts honestly scared towards him, has basically earned a good percentage of safety.
He walks around her a couple of times. ~Clever of you to come by yourself, I suggest you to never try to invent excuses with me.~ Had she told him she was too scared to go it would have been far better than inventing excuses.
Without further talking nor warning, he touches her, teeporting to one of his many residences.
Once there, he goes to take s few things he got for her, including the bathing oil with roses scent and a bright blue cheongsam (not long dress, just top). Not exactly gifts, something more like "since you belong to me you look the way I want you to".
As said in the other note, what is between Adept and Demigod is not love, not friendship. They are like blood brothers, tied by a strong and deep bound that once awakened, it only grows stronger and it is unbreakable.

Sao tells her to go take a bath with that oil and to wear what he gave her. The cheongsam, should just replace the corset of her dress while keeping the original bottom, but she is still too messed to be lucid. As usual she immediately thinks the worst of worst but obeys even too literally.
She takes a bath as quickly as possible and wears the cheongsam, alone, which is quite risqué no doubt.
He knows that she is scared and also knows what she thinks and in truth, he wants her to fear him, but not like the others, he wants her to know when and what she should fear.
When she comes out of the bathroom, he approaches her very close, walks around her and stops behind her, wrapping his arm around her chest, pulling her closer to him. Then he approaches his head to hers, speaking close to her ear, with a low tone that despite somewhat soft it still feels rather worrying.
~You are right to fear. It is true, I could take you, here and now, what could possibly stop me? I could make it be. So. Your cries, the respect I have towards your husband's family, having spent the last weeks with your son would not be enough to restrain me.

I could come and drag you out from your husband 's bed in the middle of the night when you expect the less. He finally lets her go and moves from her, but motions her to follow him.

Then heads to the living room, by the table where her servant already prepared a very fine tea.
He kneels on the pillow by the short table, pouring himself and to her, some tea, prepared with the whole traditional ritual of course.

It is basically the standard "ritual" all Adept and Demigods have to perform once they find each other. From the moment their blood joined, a part of Sao's blood will forever be in hers and it will obviously have various effects too. Among which, boosting their bound even more.

After a rather quick meeting with Stephen, the Demigod revealed to her to be the Adept of Sao Yung himself.
Knowing Sao and how dangerous he can get, Stephen literally forced her to reveal the truth to her Demigod immediately, fearing his reactions towards her, had she kept the thing hidden from him.
He would find out on his own anyway, at some point.

In that occasion, Sao was in a hurry and left after few minutes, with the promise they would meet as soon as he could to discuss the matter.
Since she is terrified to death, Stephen, in hope it would reassure her, advised Carlie to speak with Cato, to ask him questions about being an Adept.
So she indeed asked him for a meeting, through a letter, willing to go wherever Cato will choose.
