After some time, ZhongLi has to go to warn Lani that due to the new developments, the visit to Lianxi is going to last longer than they had initially planned.
Since Lani has to return to his son, he leaves a portal open inside of Chan's house, warning ZhongLi that it will stay open till morning and then it will shut on its own. He also warns TiHao about the delay, so that nobody will get worried.

With that done, ZhongLi is free to wander around on his own for a bit.

MORAX "I know it is dangerous for you and the others, but if no one of you do anything, things are never going to change. I'm offering you my help, but you have to tell me every detail you know.

He listens to what ZhongLi says and then looks at the purse. «All right… I will try to tell that to them…» He takes the purse. «But I can't be sure that it will work…» He doesn't manage to restrain some tears.

He places his hand on his shoulder, noticing his tears. "At least let's give it a try. Don't be too insisting or they might suspect. The more you seem displeased about me, the better."
