In the dark streets of the endless city, he resides a man who is known by many names. The prominent of which is the Negotiator. He is a man who prides himself on getting a job done as quickly and as efficiently as possible. In the criminal underworld, the Negotiator was known as a dangerous man. He could find a peaceful solution to a problem just as easily as he could a more...violent one. So long as he was given complete in how to tackle a particular situation, of course.

He never had any qualms about taking a job, but this one? He found it weird. It was a bodyguard job, an apparent standard affair. A rich socialite was allowing his daughter to leave the country, but he wanted to give her some protection. All seemed okay, but the man was peculiar. Lots of things didn't add up. The timing of the trip, the location the girl was heading to, the man's eagerness to send his daughter off, it was all strange to him. Even the insane amount that he was being paid was suspect since he was being charged triple of what his normal rate was. It didn't sit right with the Negotiator, but considering how insistent the man was, he took on the job anyway.

Essentially, this is a bodyguard romance story with some pretty dark themes. Expect the negotiator to be a bit cold and blunt at first before he finally starts to warm up. You have complete freedom on how to handle your character. I don't have any hard and fast rules beyond being semi-literate, 1-2 paragraphs minimum and third person perspective. A young girl is a member of a clan that worships the goddess of light and the heavens, Lady Amaterasu. The clan works diligently to prepare the world for the goddess' return and thus, a select lineage of women are chose to be her vessel. Upon reaching the apex of their life, the current vessel, referred to as the Avatar of Light, passes on the role to their daughter, who once the girl is of age, becomes the new vessel for Amaterasu.

After nearly 1800 years, the ritual had gone on without issues until one faithful day. The current vessel had been tragically taken by illness and it was thought that the goddess was lost. For you see, the goddess, like all spirits, must have something to tie them to the physical world and possessing the Avatar of Light is her method of doing so. Once the tether is severed, then the goddess returns to the spirit world and runs the risk of being forgotten by the people of the world. Their faith in her is her literal lifeblood, so being a deity in human form, gracing the masses with her presence not only keeps her in this world, but also sustains her.

After her vessel's death, all hope was lost but the vessel had given birth a daughter. But there was no sign of the goddess. For years, the girl grew up and there were many strange things about her. She had looked like like the goddess, uncannily so. To the point where many were shocked to see her resemble the ancient pictures of the goddess. She demonstrated great spiritual power, showcasing many of the abilities that the goddess had possessed and more. Moreover, the head priest had received visions that the goddess still lived and this girl was her new vessel. All of this culminated on the girl's 16th birthday, where the goddess, in a brief moment, revealed her presence to her worshipers. This girl was not just the goddess' new vessel, but was her reincarnation, created as a means of saving herself from the death of the last Avatar of Light.

Now that she had returned, the clan now had reinvigorated their mission to ensure the survival and reign of the goddess of light. With a young man, a member of the clan who had been tasked with protecting the Avatar of Light, the girl must find her identity while also juggling the conflicts that she has with her protector, her clan and the many evils that seek to see her destroyed.

This plot involves a knight who has lost his faith and his title and a witch who just wants to be loved. This is a world where magic was viewed as an insult to God, all forms of it are outlawed by nearly every nation. All magic users are persecuted and are treated as inhuman or as tools for war. The knight was from the kingdom of Camdor, a domain that was far ahead of its time, and they believed that magic was a gift from God. Many clans made this land their home, both magic and non-magic alike.

Camdor was no stranger to war, but considering their land was treated as sacred ground to many, it was rare for them to have enagage in any significant conflicts despite their great military might. Tragedy struck when the two surrounding kingdoms, Drachma and Juval, suddenly declared war Camdor without warning, and Camdor was no match for their combined might despite their immense magic might. The once-proud kingdom was destroyed by their enemies, and they had no idea why. The royal family was slaughtered, its people routinely executed, and the entire nation used as an example as to what happens to anyone that grows too arrogant in the face of God.

Many years have passed since that day. The few survivors struggled to survive in a world that hated their very existence, and the knight and witch were amongst them. The story can go many different ways, it is primarily dark with classic dark fantasy tropes, but it can also turn into a hopeful romance.
