Haunted.
While Hoon is at WooPil's party, he has the first free moment in a very long time and he takes the chance to take a walk alone, in the city.
As he gets very far from where he lives, something suddenly catches his eyes: will-o'-the-wisps, magical light spheres/fires created by kitsune.
He wears his kitsune mask and follows the trail of light spheres, that are of orange and yellowish colour, until he reaches an area that is kinda spooky. It's like a little ally of abandoned houses with a tiny square in the middle. The whole location feels eerie and haunted, but what really freezes Shin is that there are two other kitsune there: a male and a female. They are both wearing their masks and their identity is impossible to determine, just like Shin's own for the other two.
He didn't expect that there were other kitsune in Guyun, besides the ones he knows.
Shin aims to turn around and flee, not sure how to interact with unknown people of his kin and he doesn't exclude that they could be aggressive.
As he is leaving, though, the male kitsune grabs his wrist, stopping him.
Their eyes cross for a moment that feels like eternal, before the unknown person leaves him and Shin proceeds to flee from the scene.
He is not followed, as he returns home and he doesn't talk about it to anyone.
Though, he is not the only one who noticed "strange and eerie phenomena" in that part of the city. In fact, among the guards, that alley is considered haunted and they avoid it during their patrol, since they are scared to death.

He has soon to return home to take care of children, so he leaves Blade by the gate to head back, after greeting politely. He is too worried for his sons to be able to relax or even have some pleasant time in the city.
Showtime.
They are soon informed that the Emperor won't be able to meet them before the next day, due to his obligations and to follow the appropriate etiquette of the court.
Thanks to Wu and his ladies, they are indeed given a rather comfortable treatment, but they can't be allowed to sleep in the same place. According to the rule of the palace, women have to stay in the harem area — even the guests, and men are strictly forbidden from going there.
Chan and Aron are just given a room in the guards' quarters, since they were introduced as such.
The next day, the meeting is set to happen at 5pm. The Emperor is not avoiding them on purpose, he is really extremely busy, also due to the fact that there are no ministers and he has to personally look into every matter personally.
When the time of the meeting comes, Miko, Aron and Chan are escorted to the throne room and there seems to be something off in the air.
Princess Yinbok is no longer prostrating, but she is nearby with her maids and following the three with gaze.
Once inside the throne room, they don't find Lian alone but also several other people, including Wu and XiFan. The second is standing behind a tall and blonde man, who looks similar enough to him to make it clear that he must be his father.
Lian is on the throne, while the other three men are standing next to him, on the two sides.
Lian looks at the three guests, keeping a formal and extremely serious demeanor. «Greetings, ambassador from the South. I, Lian, Emperor of Huang, welcome you on behalf of my people. The homages sent by your king were presented to me and I am the most grateful and pleased by his kindness. I trust that my own gifts were received and met with approval.» To that, the man standing in front of XiFan can't restrain a strongly annoyed grimace, but he doesn't dare to say a word.

As expected, Kun didn't miss the chance fo give yet another proof of his lowliness by blackmailing Leaf into going to meet him and his friends in a place — by threatening to reveal his true identity to the public.
Leaf doesn't even say anything to the other two, he just goes in "condemned" mode and leaves Jingyuan's apartment to do as he was told.
Since he was behaving especially weird after the letter, it's plausible that the other two found it suspicious and worrying enough to go after Leaf, as soon as they notice that he left.
Case wants that Kun and his friends lured him to the house of one of the friends, which happens to be very close to that alley where the teleportation on the Astral Express occurred. Close enough for the three of them, who had to be outside — people inside buildings wouldn't get teleported along — to get teleported on the train as well.
Although it happens at the exact same time, due to being in a different location, the three don't appear in the main wagon but in the corridor where the rooms are. Right in front of Dan Heng.
* The Astral Express is on its way to Herta's space station, at the point where Honkai story begins. That's also where the characters will end up splitting.

He is not a born salesman, but at least the customers aren't displeased with him.
As the days pass, a certain someone gets to find out that Leaf got a job and where and he decided to go to see for himself with a couple of his friends from the military: his ex.
Like all abusive partners, he can't really leave his ex victim alone, to rebuild a better life, for long, regardless he was the one who decided to kick Leaf away.
The three come to the store in a moment when they see only Leaf inside - although it may not be necessarily true that he is - and walk inside.
Just glancing at Kun, his ex, sends chills down Leaf's spine and he is 100% sure that they didn't come there to buy clothes. Indeed the three aren't dressed fashionably, they are all pretty big and kinda threatening in their ways.
The conversation doesn't last long and mostly consists in Kun mocking Leaf and low-key threatening to reveal the truth about his identity.
While that happens, one of the friends of Kun goes to close the door of the store, to make it look closed at a time that is definitely not normal for it to close.
