Personality: Sylvester is the definition of an a**hole but not the kind that you hate. He's the kind of guy who goes out of his way to be annoying, get in your way and frustrate you beyond comprehension just because he feels like it. He's sly, sneaky and all for pulling pranks on those around him. He's also very intelligent despite how he looks. He has the vision of an artist and inventor, being able to look at something and find a bunch of uses for it.

When he isn't being an a**hole (And even when he is at times), he's a good friend and is always there for those he considers his family. If he believes someone needs support, he'll be there in an instant to support them for as long as they need it.

Bio: Sylvester's parents were killed when he was very young, leaving him to fend for himself. As a demon (thanks to the bad reputations demons have), it was hard to get by and he often had to steal or hunt in forests. If he was lucky, he could do some fishing and eat fish for a couple days. One night, he snuck into a barn to steal some milk and maybe a chicken, but the farmer, who had seen movement outside his window that night, caught him in the act and shot him with a hollow point bullet. He ended up with a scattered wound on his chest but it wasn't but it wasn't serious since he managed to move quick enough to avoid a fatal wound.

The farmer went to shoot him again but the gun jammed. His next resort was to grab a rake and attack him with that, once again striking his chest and dragging long cuts down his chest. The rest is quite blurry to him, Sylvester doesn't quite remember how he got away but he was dying from blood loss when an elderly woman found him.

She took him in and nursed him back to health. He was hostile at first, fearful she would harm him, but over time, he grew accustomed to her and begun to consider her a mother figure as a year passed by. She took care of him, fed him, and gave him clothes- thought he refused to wear shoes and shirts for they were too restricting for him. In his teenage years, she passed away and he took her locket, putting a photo of her in it while also keeping the photo of a little girl inside that was already in there- not knowing who it was but out of respect for the old woman.

He soon took on an apprenticeship as a shipwright, having found someone willing to teach him something. This led to him eventually joining a demon pirate screw until his late 20's and then settling in another town as a casual shipwright, joining the Opal Pirates at the age of 30n when they docked on his island.

Bio: Mariko was one of many eggs left in a cave while her parents left to hunt for food. While the eggs were unattended, giant wasps invaded the nest and proceeded to take all the eggs but one which they had failed to see. Those eggs were devoured by wasp larvae and when Mariko's parents returned to the nest, they were devastated to find all their children gone. In their frantic search for any remaining eggs, they failed to find Mariko's egg.
With nothing left to stay for, the Drider's left to find a new, safer place to be and hopefully start over, leaving Mariko behind. When Mariko hatched, she found she was alone and for the first few days, barely got by until Kishore came across her starving form.
Kishore took her in, fed her and raised her all on his own until they joined the Pearl Pirates. Grateful for all he has done for her, Mariko does everything she can to help at all times and uses her fine silks to repair the crew's clothing.

Personality: Luna is an incredibly polite woman with a lot of pride and dignity. She is someone who can take charge if need be but also someone who can just as easily step back and take orders. She will never take orders from someone acting like a fool however and will either take over or leave to prevent herself from getting into the mess that is sure to occur.
She can also be very soft spoken and almost come off as shy at times, despite not being shy at all. It's just how she prefers to act, so people aren't intimidated or scared of her but Sylvester still things she's incredibly creepy.

Bio: Luna grew up moving from shadow to shadow and travelling in the night all her life. She did this with her family for years and then continued all on her own as they came of age. She met plenty of people, made many friends and often joined people on voyages. She's been a member of two pirate crews before the Opal Pirates and was even captured once by pirates who had heard she was a good navigator. Being someone who is almost immune to time, she had lots of experience in the field and it would never fade with age, so she was indeed useful. To keep things on her side though, she warned them that she couldn't be out in the sun otherwise she would die on the spot. To prove it, she stuck her hand out into the sunlight and it quickly puffed into smoke before regenerating back in the shadows.
From this point onwards, she angered them at every turn possible until one day, someone threw her out into the sunlight, figuring they would just kill her and find a new navigator. She flew into the light with a wide smile and then puffed out of existence, into a cloud of smoke that soon faded too.
When she opened her eyes next, she was standing on a table with many, many eyes on her, mouths full of food and clearly in the middle of lunch.
"Oh hello. I don't suppose you would happen to be looking for a navigator now would you?"
As simple as it was, this was exactly how she became the navigator of the Opal Pirates.
