Backstory:

Aro turned Ana-Marie into a vampire after being found close to death on the road in 1322 AD England. He soon learned of her power and tried to convince her to join the Volturi, and she agreed to participate once she ensured her loved ones lived happy lives.

When her daughter, Annie, passed away in the late 1300s, she joined Aro and the Volturi and stayed loyal to him until she met Carlisle. She was intrigued by his vegetarian lifestyle, and after two decades of observing him, he asked her to be his companion. Initially, She hesitated but decided to leave the Volturi and quickly adapted to the "vegetarian" lifestyle.

She was there and helped Carlisle build their coven. From being a nurse at Edward's side when he was close to death, watching Esme and him fall in love, sewing clothes for Rosalie, and making fun of Emmet's cause of death, she was there for it all. When Alice and Jasper found them, she was quick to accept them.

Then, they settled down in Forks, Washington. She never felt more alone than when Edward brought Bella home, as now she was the only person in the Cullen family without a mate.

Backstory:
Born in a Nobel family in 1300, Ana-Marie was married off as soon as she turned 16 to Duke Daniel Woodworth, who was 19. They had their son Andrew not long after, and when Ana-Marie was 22, she gave birth to Annie; her family was complete.

Shortly after Annie's birth, she visited a friend, leaving her two young children with a Nanny. Upon meeting her friend, she met Elijah Mikaelson, who instantly took a liking to the Duchess and walked her home. She fell in love with him but kept it a secret because she was married with two children.

One night, a few months after meeting Elijah, she was on her way home alone from a ball when thieves overtook her carriage, and she was stabbed in the stomach and left on the street for dead.

Elijah was nearby and smelled blood; he followed the scent and found her lying in the streets. He had fallen in love with the girl in the small amount of time they spent together, so he gave her his blood.

He took her back to his home, where she died, thus becoming a vampire.

Because of her feelings for the Original Vampire, she became sired to him, and they began a relationship after Ana-Marie said goodbye to her children late that night and faked her death. She knew her children would be safe but had to leave England with Elijah because she was so well known.

After many, many years and a strange again off again romance with Elijah, he agreed to let her go back to England. She told him, "If you ever need me, just send a letter, and I will come. That isn't the Sire Bond talking." before leaving.

During her time with Elijah, she grew close to his siblings, especially Rebekah, who told her she was like the sister she never had. Yes, even Klaus found her amusing and liked having her around.

Upon returning to England in the late 1600s, she uncovered any information she could on her family, read old articles, and was shown journals about their lives. She was shocked to learn that Daniel never remarried, which made her feel guilty about leaving her children without a mother. When she learned that Annie became Queen of England in her mid-twenties, she was filled with pride and visited the burial grounds, and she never knew what became of her son Andrew or her parents.

She then went on to live in England until she returned to Elijah whenever he needed her help, as she proved ruthless. She was in and out of the Mikaelson family until she moved to Mystic Falls in 2010 to help Elijah once again, staying after he decided to leave for New Orleans with his brother and sister to be with Damon and help her new friends on their adventures.

Vampire Hunters are typically born into the lifestyle, but there is strength in numbers, and sometimes can convince outsiders that they are authentic, leading to their groups expanding.

The first group of Hunters sought help from a local Witch, begging her to help with the Vampire problem. She created the first weapons with her magic and a potion to enhance some of the Hunters' abilities (Strength, Hearing, Tracking, etc.) They also go through a spell that makes them immortal but NOT unkillable. Witches are known to help Hunters in their journey to eradicate the Vampire Species.

Once a Hunter has killed a Vampire, they typically burn the body to get rid of the evidence of the killing, wanting the rest of the humans to be blissfully unaware of the existence of Vampires.

Vampires can kill hunters if they have the upper hand, but Hunters can blend into society easily, making blindsiding a Vampire much easier.

-Typically, they are pale, but it depends entirely on how much blood they consume. The more blood in their system, the less pale they are.

-Vampires have Enhanced strength, senses, and speed.

-Vampires have Indestructibility; they can only be killed by Werewolves, other Vampires, or Vampire Hunters with special weapons. They cannot be killed by human weapons such as guns, knives, etc.

-Vampires have Perfect Recall. Vampires can instantly remember and recall everything they have ever experienced, encountered, or learned since their transformation with perfect clarity, something they can perform for all their existence.

-Not all Vampires have a gift. Their gifts typically reflect their human lives; those with more powerful skills are invited to join The Vampire Council.

Venom:
They have fangs that emerge from their gums when they attack their prey; inside their fangs is Venom which is used to turn humans into Vampires; but is deadly to other Supernatural creatures and Vampire Hunters.

Damiano Di Maggio wanted to change, so he did something about it.

He hated how savage Vampires were becoming. Entire towns became slaughtered without a trace, risk of exposure was high enough; he found that they needed order.

He created the Council and hunted down the most powerful; the ones were given the gifts that he found helpful, giving them a home and a purpose. He brought a new world order to the Vampires and soon controlled everything; he just wanted to protect their kind.

His rules were tedious to follow but necessary to keep both humans and vampires safe. The ones who don't follow the rules typically end up dead if Damiano sees fit.

And trust that Damiano sees everything.
