He ran after Furina for a short while, but due to his reputation, as people around started to realise that he was after a girl… well, half city got at him, started to throw stuff at him and some men even attacked him.
In order to avoid harming someone, he was forced to retreat and hide somewhere, which gave Furina the chance to escape undisturbed.

He is not very good at this kind of things, but he wants to do his best. He asks for help to a servant to propose a decent gift that a guy like HaiTien may like and goes to buy it.
Done that, he returns to Guiji, after a couple of days, and heads to the Palace to go to visit him. Together with the gift, he also brought a box of sweets, so that if the gift sucks, at least there are the sweets.

As the time of the tournament comes, he shows up at the place at the right time, despite the encounter with HaiTien that left him a little weakened and the relentless search he and Lani put up to find the guy. They thought HaiTien had run off in the wilds nearby, since they don't know that he can teleport.

The first rounds are pretty easy and his team wins without any real difficulty. Even if Cyno is weakened by various factors, including the decision to take his vision off, he is still physically mightier than an average auriold. He has been training his body for almost his whole life, after all.

After winning the match, he doesn't see any point in celebrating, as it wasn't even a hardly earned victory. He noticed how pretty much nobody from his family showed up in the audience.
He simply leaves the venue, not even interested in the stands of the festival, and walks alone towards the gates of the city.
Before he could leave Guyun, though, he comes across Crow who stops him.

The rumors that Johan spread found a very fertile soil, as half city was already mad at Cyno for the mess that the guards did in the first couple of weeks from his arrival. All the tens of people who were arrested for the most random reasons, their friends and families and even neighbours are mad at Cyno and are more than glad to talk ill of him and even invent some more new rumors.

The situation keeps escalating, until the point that Cyno has pretty much no other choice than to step down from his position. Some people even started protesting in front of the headquarters to have him removed, so he found it as the only decent option for himself to preserve a slight dignity.
It surely is a rightful punishment for what he caused, now it has to be seen who will replace him in leading the guards.
He doesn't give any advice, as in his current reputation it would only risk to ruin a potential candidate, rather than bringing them closer to a promotion.
Needless to say that job is his whole life, so he is not exactly happy of the situation, but he is certainly not going to look for comfort. At least not from the people around him, not after the exchange he had with ZhongLi.

Instead of returning to the palace, he goes to the House of Snake. He doesn't have anyone in particular that he would summon, since his mother is an a**hole and the only dead person he knows. He just wants to be in the desert. There is no doubt that now that he has a lot of free time, he will find a way to go to the real deserts of Nortrig, in the south.

The next day, he asks a servant to go to look for Lani at the market and to accompany him to his residence. He doesn't go himself only to avoid to put Shin in an even more awkward situation, thinking that he'll be more relaxed to meet him directly in their place.
