Afena The Immortal: The Return.

This will be a short story detailing the events preluding the new world order. Namely, before the Divine Hierarchy made their move on Black and co. It will feature a climactic battle between two characters that I don't think have ever fought or really even interacted. And yes, this sub plot is inspired solely by the fight itself. (I'm a battle junky and infinitely curious how fantasy powers interact :D) Ofc I could just write it but I would like to incorporate story elements since it would make things more interesting. However, I will be writing this at my own pace. Work and life have largely deprived me of this little hobby of mine : /

Basic synopsis of the overarching narrative

Makai

The tales of an exiled orphan bearing both human and demon blood. Left to toil away in human world out of the demon lord's morbid curiosity, he assembled a battalion of his ilk upon making one crucial discovery...the presumed death of his late mother at the demon lord's hands.

Ravage and Pearl

The demon lord's colleagues of whom possess far greater power...and far less leniency. This rabid duo had plans of systematically conquering every dimension in creation, and even used the demon lord as a liaison to meet those ends.

Realm of the Forgotten

An exploration tale, one that would see Black and co. traverse spacetime to a forgotten land. This place is unique in that it relives the same day on loop, never progressing forward or venturing backward. (To clarify, the same events aren't guaranteed to unfold, March 1st today will just be March 1st tomorrow type of deal) As it so happens, the Gods had lifted the very concept of time from this realm, deeming it a potential anchor for paradoxes. Black reunites with his mother here, who is revealed to still be alive and kicking!

Divine Hierarchy

The Gods finally take direct action, spurred on by the events above. As setting foot in the forgotten realm is considered taboo, it might as well have been a declaration of war on the part of the thrill-seeking travelers. A double agent is also revealed to be among Black's ranks. Feeling the hybrid's forces had grown "too powerful" she readily kicked started the operation. Tragically, as a result of this, shortly after rescuing his mother from an eternal repeat button, Black loses his own life in battle. In addition, Twelve and Chaos are sealed away, effectively removing the three greatest obstacles for the oncoming war. Or so they thought...

Hell

The Oni are on the march. The plan to establish Oni supremacy is hatched. Through a meticulous process of simultaneously opening portals on either side of each realm (Hell/Earthland) this would force one to bleed into the other and overlap into a singular universe. The purpose for this? It would effectively make the Oni immortal as they're final resting place would now be tied to the living plane. To make matters worse, Twelve and Chaos' seals are shot down from the heavens by the ringleader, only for them to emerge..as enemies!? Fearing he would not be able to rule over the Oni who now had no fear of death, Twelve and Chaos' reality bending powers were needed to maintain order since they could manipulate one's very existence, and thereby erase it if need be. His means for controlling them!?

Epilogue
The aftermath of war and strife. Out of a band of several dozen, only a handful remain, living the remainder of their lives in peace as the next generation surfaces

For the short story, the timeline goes as follows: The Realm of the Forgotten - The Return - Divine Hierarchy

I am presently working on the first chapter. If possible, I would like to conclude this within five or so, but who knows.

Alpha Black

This post is both a plot idea and a reinterpretation of a character concept

This is something I've wanted to put to paper for awhile but just haven't had the time or energy for proper planning. This OC is from an established universe that has sadly been explored to it's limit. However, this interpretation of the character stems from a "what if" scenario that deviates from the main canon. An alternate or parallel universe if you will. To touch a bit upon his original backstory, Black was born to a human sorceress and the alpha of a demonic wolf tribe and subsequently exiled from demon world for carrying the blood of a mortal. In the original plot, he could easily be mistaken for a flesh and blood human due to a curse placed upon his clan. This curse, performed by the hand of a powerful sorceress, had sealed any noticeable wolf features he carried into a purely wolf state, weakening him to an extent. Contrasting the pictured depiction below, he was now 'visually human' who could merely shapeshift into a wolf, which many considered to be a diluted mutation of his true form. Although he could find a bridge of sorts in the form of sharp canines and claws without fully transforming, the physical changes stopped there. More to the point, Black was often very dismissive of his duties as the next clan head/alpha, much preferring to toil away in expediting the growth of various species. But as fate would have it, you do not choose to be alpha or not, it chooses you through birthright. The 'alpha gene' is directly inherited through bloodline, and once a heir comes of age, it will spring into action and drastically warp the subject's demeanor into that of a ruthless dictator, or by the standards of demon world, a capable leader. Naturally, this was prevented in the OG plot, but that is precisely what brings me here. In addition to having Black embrace the gene, I've decided to discard the curse plotline altogether, granting him access to his ancient form. This will be a bit of an experiment since there's technically no morally good side here. (I'm addicted to antagonistic roles atm) The demon king will still despise him for his impure blood and Black will respond in kind with ambitions of seizing his throne no matter the costs. Pretty barebones for now but I open to ideas :D

Dante

Name: Dante
Gender: Male
Hair: Black
Age: 18
Height: 6'3
Weight: 247 lbs
Race: Human
Classification: Prince of Polynesia / Second generation grade wielder

~Bio~

Dante is a young prince whose discontent with his role of successorship. Born to a particularly tyrannical king, he desperately seeks to liberate himself of a pre-determined fate, and carve out his own path in life. However, this will prove quite difficult for him given his father is not beyond using force to maintain order. In fact, in Dante's mind, the disappearance of his presumed late mother was likely a direct result of angering the unruly dictator. While no evidence of such horrendous acts exists, he still holds true to this belief. He lives out his days feigning the role of heir, all the while building his strength and plotting his escape.

~Personality~
When not playing the role of heir, Dante is very kind, playful, and at times, flirtatious. He has a tendency to agitate his personal guard unit by routinely giving them the slip in pursuit of his own interests. Though this is generally received with leniency, as they suspect he's just a youth coming into his own, these acts are very much reflective of Dante's true nature of seeking freedom.

~Sexual Orientation~
Heterosexual

~Wizardry~
Spatial Magic
Dante, much like his father, is highly adept at the use of Spatial Magic. His uses span from teleportation by use of worm holes (provided he's visited the destination at least once) forcible swapping, telefrag, and bending space to disorient foes. As of recent, he has tried his hand at replicating his father's form of Spatial magic, which involves the creation of alternate spacetimes. Thus far, he's only managed to conjure a room-sized dimension, which he often uses for storage space. Typically for grade weapons he's pilfered off of evil-doers. He can also effectively 'seal' targets in this manner.

TimeBreaker Magic (temporarily)
Dante can use his gravity to distort spacetime via black holes but since he can manipulate space and force it to retain form, the excess ripples recoil and affect time more than usual. This allows him to artificially replicate the ancient magic of time breaking. This level of grade weilding earned him notable praise from even the boastful Iris, who considered him to be a genius at the battle art.

Note: Dante must be in possession of a very rare magic item known as the seeker's amulet in order to do this. Controlling a black hole without endangering the planet is beyond his natural capacity.

~Grade Weapon~
Javelin

Unique Trait
Gravity manipulation
Dante's infectious personality has given rise to the ability of 'attractive gravity' However, Dante is free to choose what attracts what, essentially giving him free reign over gravity as a whole. His standard means of combat involves leaving his javelin embedded at the peak of a mountain graveyard whilst emitting high levels of gravity, where he would then connect a portal to and forcibly warp opponents away with the gravitional pull. This serves as both misdirection as many grade wielders suspect he's not one himself since he doesn't flaunt a weapon in open view, and a death sentence for those beyond redemption as the gravity crushes the target to death upon initiation. The 'graveyard' itself being less literal, and in actuality, just a mountain littered with corpses that have met this fate.

Spiked Knuckles (Currently issued to Camie) & Hunter's Knife (currently issued to Lucas) For details, see their profiles.

Dante saw much potential in Camie and Lucas despite their misdeeds. Forgoing jailtime, he saw fit to make them repent by bestowing unique traits onto grade weapons and acting as their contractor. This way he can keep them reined in with the conditions. He's the first known grade wielder to bestow a trait onto multiple tools. Further, since Dante is alive and well, there doesn't appear to be any risks of him taking over the recipients.

Lucifer

~Bio~
wip

~Wizardry~
Spatial magic
Lucifer is highly proficient at spatial magic but his usage of it isn't quite what one might expect. Rather than have a direct influence over space, Lucifer's specialty lies in the creation of alternate spacetimes, which he uses to overlap with the material world. Applying this binding agent of sorts, he's able to facilitate his control through manipulating his own personal realm that is simply bound to Earth. This allows him acute sensory over the far-reaching expanse, however, he must be familiar with the topography of an area should he attempt to control something out of view. Humans are an excption to the rule as he can hone in on their distinct magic signatures.

~Sorcery~
Known simply as 'True Magic' to some, this is an advanced form of wizardry wherein which a mage weaponizes their strength of will by infusing it with their magic attribute. This results in a magic effect or skill being directly tied to the willpower of user, making it possible for an ice user to conjure constructs that can resist it's natural weakness of flame (provided the ice user's willpower is greater than the flame user's) In Lucifer's case, he can impose his will over that of others so long as they occupy the 'space' he commands. And given he can effectively manipulate space on a global scale, this makes him capable of essentially subduing anyone at any given time. This level of control is by no means limited to sentient beings, as it can extend to inorganic substances within said space as well. Example being when Lucifer used a festival mask that Melody fancied to project his vision as a means of overseeing her mission. However, his most common use involves granting the body heightened perception of the world around them, forcibly making them experience the occurrences of everday life at super speed. The myriad of decisions one must make in this process lag behind due to the nervous system being left as is.Should one so much as attempt to physically keep up, the electrical signals produced by the brain will overload due to failed mental processes, causing them to expel from the subject's body. This results in a charred form that, if not killed by the shock, is permanently vegative.

~Grade Weapon~
None. He seems to have to no interest in the battle art. The blades he carries are conventional weaponry.

~True Deviant~
Lucifer is a unique deviant given he does not contract with one of the six shrine deities but instead a mysterious serpent entity of unknown origin. As such, he adopts certain snake-like characteristics, presumably due to dishonoring their vow at some point and receiving a penalty. However, what earned him the label of 'true deviant' was the fact that he survived the process and managed to retain his individuality whilst at the same time 'stealing' the beastly perks. Much like Iris in this regard when it came to grade weapon assimilation. This means by which he accomplished this remain a mystery, but he offered to pass on the 'ritual' to Melody in exchange for her allegiance.

Shedding
Much like a snake, Lucifer can molt should he sustain heavy damage, emerging with renewed flesh and blood.

Poor vision
Lucifer can use a weakness often found in snakes to his benefit. Combining their poor vision with his innate magic, he can lower his own visual perception to the point of blindness whilst leaving all other sensory tools associated with them intact. This allowed him to combat Iris' mesmerizing influences.

Trevor

Name: Trevor Van Hughes
Gender: Male
Hair: White
Age: 300+
Height: 6'1
Weight: 216 lbs
Race: Human
Classification: fallen noble/ first generation grade wielder

~Bio~

Trevor is a fallen noble from an era not far removed from grade weilding's inception. But another victim to the harsh realities of territorial disputes, he would find himself forced out of his home by a band of Time Breakers, which were plentiful in this golden age of wizardry. Even worse, his ex-lover, now turned traitor, would swear fealty to the new king without qualm, having endured several years of physical and emotional abuse from Trevor behind closed doors. The former ruler on the other hand was subjected to the most inhumane degrees of torture in his attempts to preserve his status, and would be reduced to a deformed shell of himself before being left for dead at the nation's borders. His grief wouldn't end here as it appeared the new king developed a means to preserve Time Breaking Magic and pass it down to the first born son of each generation. With the heirs inheriting all of the vast knowledge and teachings of their predecessors, a deterrent against Trevor had been forged that would span multiple centuries. However, his former mate, still suffering from emotional trauma would not be content with this alone. Having been changed into a more sinister and spiteful person due to his mistreatment, she would curse him well beyond the grave by imprinting a fragment of her soul upon her tiara towards the end of her natural lifespan. Entrusting the mission to 'end Trevor' to whoever would inherit it. In exchange for power course. Fast forward a few centuries, and fate would finally see fit to blow the winds in Trevor's favor. Over the ages, Time Breakers became greatly feared, and prime targets for assassination due to their god-like abilities. Trevor himself managed to survive the ages due to many outsiders believing him dead already, but all others were completely wiped from the face of Earth. Having met Camie during his time away, Trevor would make use of the bloodthirsty wench, often using her for recon by posing as a tourist with her unique abilities. It was through these means that he discovered something quite fortunate....a time breaker had not been conceived with the latest heir. Instead, a time traveler had been born. Moreover, this wizard, having fully educated himself on how his country was founded via traveling back in time, had no desire to rediscover Time Breaking Magic given it was used to steal land from the rightful owners. Needless to say, this pacifist of a ruler was just what Trevor had been waiting for to retake his homeland. What's more, he lacked magic suitable for direct combat, so it was perfect. Later, Trevor would discover that the current king also engaged in morally questionable practices, namely child trafficking wherein which he sold a certain child off after a tragic incident at the palace. Unknowing of the child's deep-seeded thirst for power and mayhem, Trevor naturally felt their objectives were in alignment, and promptly instructed Camie to retrieve his former mate's tiara from within the kingdom. Upon freeing the child from slavery, Trevor would raise her as his very own, and gift her with the tiara on her 18th birthday. This was initially thought to be a gesture of kindness and regret to his former mate by leaving her memento with the child they'd never had. However, this would prove to be a fatal mistake as both mother and 'daughter' alike were far beyond compromise. A scorned lover combined with pure, unadulterated madness made for a recipe of disaster for the old relic. Whilst the unique trait of a grade weapon is easily distinguishable, the pact ingrained in a grade weapon is conveyed solely to it's user. As such, the young woman presently known as Iris had received the age old mission to do away with him. Unfortunately for her, it's later revealed that Trevor merely extended the weapon to her out of trust and not sentimentalities, and the idea of the man possessing anything remotely resembling goodness was promptly silenced after Iris failed at manipulating at his purely evil heart. Shortly after these events, Lucas would join their coalition and aid them in their attack on the modern monarchy.

~Personality~
Trevor is quite ruthless, caring only for his own personal gain and wealth.

~Sexual orientation~
Heterosexual

~Wizardry~
Time Breaker Magic
Trevor possesses an ancient form of magic that was touted to be the pinnacle of wizardry, some even going so far as to state that it 'borders on godhood' As it's name implies, this magic allows Trevor to shatter time and physically exist beyond it's very concept. This enables him to defy phenomena directly associated with time such as aging. Most notably, in combat, an ethereal realm that overlaps with the material world known as the ascension rift becomes accessible. Upon breaking time and entering this realm, his targets become completely stationary. Distance, speed, perception are all moot as he ascends to a higher plane of existence.

~Grade Weapon~
Twin Kodachis
The unique trait of these blades allow Trevor to sever the 'relationship' between a grade wielder and their grade weapon, effectively reducing them to 1/3 of their power as their Unique Trait and Pacts are completely lost to them. However, this does not affect second generation grade wielders who choose to fight with an extension of their very own soul, and not a 'relationship' with distant beings.

Pact.
Trevor's pact involves an auto-detection feature for threats, allowing his Time Breaker Magic to self-activate should he come under harm. While Time Breaking is revered as godly, such an ability is useless if it's not active at all times. Not accounting for this weakness is precisely what led to their extinction.

Other info
He is blind, which grinds the gears of a certain blonde lunatic
