~Bio~

Beatrix grew up in arguably the most notoriously vile area one could pinpoint on a world map. But one of many of Lucifer's controlled territories, the once prosperous fire nation had unironically become Hell on Earth for those confined within it's now poverty stricken borders. Unlike your typical snatch-and-go, or the occasional power shift associated with conquest, this orchestrated attack appeared entirely senseless on the part of the unruly king as it by no means served as an expansion of his empire. The residents were left to scurry about in the wake of ruination but forbidden from setting foot outside their ravaged homeland for no clear reasoning. It was almost as if their rights to stable living conditions were being denied and nothing more. However, as one might expect, nothing concerning Lucifer is ever that simple. This was in fact a project to procure a deviant through alternative means. Theorists in this age suspect that those who seek the shrines will unequivocally find deliverance at a price. But what of the reverse? Should a deity selectively choose one with strong conviction, what scope of power lies beyond such a contract? Only Lucifer had thought this far ahead in his attempt to engineer a breakthrough. Amidst deadly plagues, murders, prostitution and famine, the stench of death and corrosion had become commonplace for the young Beatrix, among a host of other unpleasantries in the slums. Nonetheless, she played the card she had been dealt in life without qualm, even going so far as to feed off the flesh of her own kin when rations ran dry. Interestingly enough, this morally questionable act was not without consent, as her parents had urged her to survive the rigors of the world by any means, even at their expense. Beatrix reciprocated this twisted form of love and vowed to live three times as much as the average person, carrying now with her not just her own life and aspirations, but that of her family's as well. This resulted in a hot-blooded and exuberant young woman who gives her all to every individual task associated with daily living. She can be quite loud verbally and overly optimistic but that vibrant energy she exuded was precisely what Lucifer had sought after. He had crafted an indomitable will through trial and tribulation. Once she had come of age, Lucifer brought her into the military to serve directly under his heir, Dante, alongside the newly recruited Melody. To his estimation, her flame magic had already transcended 'worldly flames' and she was perhaps on the cusp of earning the favor of the Gods. Particularly being dangerously close to generating 'Phoenix Flames'


~Personality~
Beatrix in a word can be described as a 'roughneck' She is very competitive, and though she may unknowingly serve under her oppressor, she's never once yielded to any chain of command. She'll actively defy orders from Dante and Lucifer alike.

~Wizardry~
Flame Magic: Beatrix can wield flame magic to great effect, and it's been consistently noted to be a grade above what mages can feasibly control, lending credence to Lucifer's theory. Much like Melody, she can use her magic in conjunction with hand-to-hand combat, although she much prefers street fighting over martial art disciplines.

~Bio~

Natalie is Melody's estranged older sibling. Conceived outside of wedlock, and to a different father, her existence had been mostly erased due to his less than honorable practices as well as her tainted bloodline. Simply put, her birth was non consensual. As a result of this, she was shunned by a select few higher-ups who refrained from going public with the news. Even more alarming was her mother's lack of input or empathy on the matter, effectively leaving her fate in the hands of the governing body of the wintry nation. The male responsible, ex-con, Pillman Ryder, was swiftly apprehended and executed, and the child promptly exiled. Her means of survival henceforth are largely unknown, but years later, upon hearing the news of the hostile takeover which forced out the royal house, she is seen celebrating in a stupor at a local hub.

Is extremely spiteful and manipulative. In nearly every human encounter, she's come to blows, which has earned her the moniker 'Southpaw Slugger'

Classification: Fallen noble/deviant

Melody shares similar origin to Dante, being that they were both born to nobility, with little to no desire for establishing a monarch. However, the similarities end there, as her past is almost like an alternate take on his own. A careful reminder to value what you have in life, as the means by which it can be seized, are often times, not the most pleasant. While she was fortunate to not have such a title forced upon her, such that she could recommend her youngest sibling to take up the mantle and not be reprimanded, the kingdom would ultimately fall to a band of terrorists, and the royal family forced into exile. Following these heinous acts, nomadic living would reduce their numbers, and from there, a tribe known as the Dragon Clan would be founded by the renmants. This involved a sacred prayer to one of six known mythical deities. Their plea? " Liberation from disgracing their homeland " In whatever form that make take shape. The Dragon God obliged, decreeing that on one fateful day approximately ten years in the future, they will unequivocally reclaim that which was stolen from them. This granted them immortal bodies with superhuman recovery rates. However, this was only so long as their mission remained undone. Upon completion, they would all vanish from Earth's face, such is the price for their contract. As a result, the Dragon God instructed them to scatter to the ends of the Earth to build their strength as well as procreate to preserve their lineage. Melody is sent to Dante's kingdom to locate a suitor purely for breeding purposes, however something unexpected occurs during her stay. Rather than die for vengeance, the fallen princess turned warrior-maiden, quickly found herself wanting to live for the young prince, be it as his lover or his sword. With her contract having already been set in motion, this naturally did not sit well with the Dragon God, which resulted in a mutation in her appearance. For every instance her heart sways off course, she will attain reptilian-like scales over her body. This gradual process will inevitably lead to a full-blown dragon transformation and her leading a new life of servitude as his henchmen while at the same time robbing her of any possible happiness with a human male.

~Personality~
Melody is foul-mouthed and ill-tempered. However, this seems to stem largely from her predisposition of not being long for the world. Having directly experienced the pain of loss with the fall of her homeland, she figured it'd be much easier to coast by the remainder of her fleeting existence without forming meaningful bonds. This way, she won't be missed when the time comes for her grand departure. That was until she met Dante ofc.

Ice Magic.
Melody can freely manipulate the element of ice to great effect, be it breathing icy mist or directly affecting the temperature to hinder opponents unaccustomed to chill . She can incorporate this form of magic into her self-styled martial arts 'Fist of the Vengeful Maiden' which focuses heavily on numbing joints and motor functions. She is also often seen forming slippery rinks at her feet to skate with augmented mobility, and prides herself on being the absolute pinnacle of taijutsu.

~Deviant / Partial Dragon Form.~

While certainly a "curse" from her perspective, Melody attains heightened physical prowess whenever her scales surface from her conflicted emotions. In addition to scales that correspond with her natural skin colour, she attains blackened sclera to contrast with turquoise slit-like irises, and a pair of elongated canines to add to the largely primal state. However, it should be noted that the scales are only visible so long as she's agitated over Dante or fighting for his betterment. They fade once she's got her head back on straight. The number of scales will increase everytime she slips up though, and her physical parameters will grow proportionally. This creates something of a time ticker for her humanity.

~Immortality~

Melody is physically incapable of dying until her mission is finished.

~Healing factor~

Melody falls into brief hibernation spells whenever she's critically wounded. Upon awakening, her wounds are completely healed.

Deviancy.

~Across the land exists a number of shrines corresponding to one of six mythical deities~

~Penalties vary from one God to the next, but presently, only Melody's dragon mutation is known~

~This contract highlights a fundamental difference between manmade pacts and divine vows, basically drawing a clear distinction between the deceit of humanity and the honor of the Gods~
