the world will become balanced somehow. . .

01 - Writing

I am a multi-para to novella writer, meaning I enjoy detailed, long stories. Occasionally I will do para but typically the least I will write is four paragraphs. I write in 3rd person POV and would hope that you do to to avoid any confusion in writing and story. I am not a stickler for grammar but I just wish that you use basic grammar rules and punctuation!

02 - Intimacy

Many folks on here write stories that revolve around sexual relationships. I am not one of those people. I love a good ole smut every once in a while but I will not write plotless smut.

3. Responses

Quality over quantity. As I said, I am a novella writer but I would rather have a reply that moves the story along that’s four paragraphs over a right paragraph response that does not move the story and describes the same thing over and over again.

That being said, if I send something that is clearly very detailed and moves the story along and I receive a half assed reply, I’m not going to be the happiest camper.

My response time depends as I am currently in university. On weekends or my days when I don’t have lots of homework or classes, I will typically reply within 10-30 minutes of seeing a response. At most, it may be 1-3 days before you receive a response. If I haven’t responded in 3 days, feel free to give me a bump and I will do the same to you!

04 - Curtsies

If you add, please message first. If I add you, I will message first.

Please be active in the plotting phase, stories are much more enjoyable when both parties craft the story.

Let me know if you will be away for long period of times.

Do not be afraid to let me know if you’re not enjoying a story! I don’t bite and would be more than happy to write something else or accommodate according to what the issue it’s.

05 - Thank You

Thank you for reading! I know it’s a lot! But I’m so excited to write with you all!

General Appearance. . .

She was short but that by no means took away from her charisma or intimidation. Not that Maggie Foster had a single intimidating bone in her body. Despite her miniscule height, she was the kind of girl that you knew could kick your ass if you wanted to. She was strong, not only in the way she held herself and her presence in a room, but she looked strong. Softly strong, like a Greecian woman made out of marble.

Someone could easily tell how much effort went into taming her hair. It always fell in gentle waves down her shoulders, not a fly away or frizz of hair to be seen. Maggie’s hair always looked effortlessly perfect, despite the fact that she would spend at least an hour making it look that way. The same could not be said for her clothing, which while occasionally stylish, conveyed the message that she was far most interested in comfort and convenience rather than looking fashionable. Still, if someone could pull off casual, it was Maggie Foster.
Though the majority of her looks were well maintained, Maggie’s nails, while clean, were always cut far shorter than the other girls. This was to prevent her nasty nail biting habit which she hadn’t kicked from childhood.

Wardrobe . . .
Maggie usually sports linen pants and some sort of loose, flowy shirt. Comfortable clothing and functional clothing is a must for Mags. She is a big fan of the overall and tee shirt combination. Flannels, sweaters, jean jackets and jeans are a common item in many of Maggie’s outfits. While there is always a feminine touch to all of her outfits, she sometimes shares (steals) clothing from her younger brother Micah. She is always wearing a combination of gold, simple earrings and a petite necklace with a small stone she never takes off.

Face Claim. . . Emily Rudd

. . . Personality

If there were a human embodiment of the word passionate, it would manifest itself in the form of Maggie Foster. While sometimes misguided, the girl is deeply fanatical about any and all of her endeavors. Greatly stubborn, oftentimes hotheaded, and deeply fervent for whatever or whoever she is involved with, Maggie can be a bit intense sometimes. She is clueless to her intensity, as it doesn’t bother her, but because of her one track mind and fervid nature, she often deters those weak of heart from adopting her into their ranks.
Her tolerance of fools is low and she is not shy about this fact. She is very outspoken in her disdain of the arrogant or the annoying. Though she is candid, Maggie would not describe herself as brave or bold in any sense. She leaves the braveness and boldness up to those she idolizes in fiction. Be it movies or books, Maggie oftentime laments over her lacking in comparison to fictional heroes and heroines. She finds herself plain in comparison. An utterly boring and regular person. Thankfully, fiction allows her an escape from her perceived blandness.
Maggie is deeply empathetic for those she cares for. Though she misinterprets her own self image, she finds it far easier to listen and understand those around her. Because of her skewed self image, she finds truly opening up and being vulnerable and earnest about her emotions a bit difficult. Rather, she prefers keeping genuine emotions and worries behind a kind smile and a shoulder to cry on.

. . . Relationships and Others

Sexuality. . .
Questioning (possibly Bisexual)

Family. . .
Micheal Foster (44, Forest and Environmental conservationist, Park Ranger), Lydia Foster (deceased, former Elementary School Teacher), Micah Foster (16, brother), Lauren Foster (11, sister)

Friends. . .
Shelly Finch (18, Student), Mary-Margaret Jones (18, Student), Juno Kim (17, Student), Sammy West (19, Hawks Employee)

. . .Family

☀ Micheal Foster . . . Father
Maggie is incredibly close with her father. After the early death of her mother, Micheal emphasized having a close emotional relationship with all of his children despite the oddities of a father doing that. He instilled his love of nature and his care of cinema and art into Maggie at a young age and is one of her biggest inspirations in terms of people she looks up to. She is constantly striving to make her father proud and take care of her siblings in an effort to thank her father for his years of love and care to his children.
☀ Micah Foster
Although Maggie finds Micah to be an annoying little sh*t, she admits she could’ve ended up with a worse little brother. Many of their interests intersect, and while he begs her every other week to join his stupid Dungeons and Dragon club, Maggie still loves him to death. He is one of the few people Maggie would go to bat defending regardless of consequence. You mess with Micah Foster, you mess with Maggie.
☀ Lauren Foster
Strangling an 11 year old is definitely illegal. Like totally and completely illegal… But if it weren’t, Lauren and Maggie would choke each other out in 3 seconds flat. They love each other unconditionally, and hate each other temperamentally. Like fire and ice, the two sisters and polar opposites. Lauren claims Maggie is weird and keeps embarrassing her in front of her friends and Maggie is certain Lauren is an overdramatic, spoiled brat. At the end of the day, it’s sisterly love. Much like Micah, Maggie would rough up some 11 year olds if they dared mess with her sister.

. . . Friends

☀ Shelly Finch
Maggie and Shelly met in the second grade at Kingsdale Elementary school in her mother’s classroom. While Maggie technically wasn’t assigned to her mother as a teacher, Shelly was. And considering Shelly’s father was also a teacher at the same elementary school, Shelly and Maggie always ended up together after school ended as their parents wrapped up lesson plans or finished up last minute work. Shelly offered Maggie an apple juice box, which, of course, was Maggie’s favorite while Maggie offered a packet of pretzel. The trade was representative of their budding friendship. Shelly is far more into fashion than Maggie and takes any chance she can to “repair Maggie’s unfortunate image”. Despite this, the girls love each other like sisters. Well, not like Maggie and Lauren. Like sisters that get along.
☀ Mary-Margaret Jones
Mary-Margaret’s parents were super religious and homeschooled Mary until middle school. After Mary-Margaret begged Maggie to secretly borrow her copy (which was technically her dad's copy) of “The Hobbit”, Maggie knew Mary was a person she could get along with. After consulting with Shelly, Maggie and Shelly adopted Mary into their trio and the rest was history.
☀ Juno Kim
Maggie and Juno were the only members of Kingsdale Middle Schools AV club until the seventh grade when the Principal threatened to take the club away and Juno and Maggie worked together to recruit five more students in order to keep the club afloat. Since they were the only people that knew how to run anything, Maggie took up the position as Vice President and Juno was President. They taught five sixth graders how exactly the AV club worked and managed to save the club until they moved onto highschool.
☀ Sammy West
Upon moving from Kingsdale to Hawkins, Sammy was the first person to befriend Maggie. And he just so happens to be her manager at Hawks. Friend is using the word loosely– very loosely– but Maggie knows she can rely on him if she needs anything around Hawkins.

Relationships (current, past, perspective). . .
As Maggie is essentially a few months old to Hawkins, she hasn’t had time to flesh out her prospective romantic flings. Not that she’s focused on that. But not that she’s opposed to that…

. . . Thoughts and Beliefs

Maggie is very firm in her beliefs. She is not religious, though she is not opposed to learning about religion. She believes people deserve to be treated right, regardless of their status in life. She is a fighter for social and environmental justice. Thanks to her dad, Maggie would definitely be labeled as a tree hugger. Though her dad believes in being a pacifist, Maggie believes violence sometimes is needed.

She doesn’t have many thoughts on Hawkins quite yet. She’s still new to the town, new to the people and hasn’t quite figured out her position on the place. As her family moved at the beginning of summer, she’s been fixated on working and getting settled. The start of the school year will be the tell on whether Maggie Foster will love or hate Hawkins, Indiana or not. She sure does miss Kingsdale…

Maggie tries to believe in the best in people and the best in situations. She’s an extreme optimist that gets disappointed half the times. She doesn’t care much for politics, but social causes she believes in she’ll fight tooth and nail to support them. Like her father, she’s definitely progressive. Like… Very progressive. Too progressive from the small town of Kingsdale and hopefully not too progressive for Hawkins.

. . . Biography

Kingsdale was a sleepy town, quiet and unbothered and serene. Located in rural Michigan, tucked between a lake and a mountain, Kingsdale was the perfect place for Micheal and Lydia Foster to settle down and start their life. Though neither of the parents were native to Kingsdale, they were welcomed with open arms. Micheal worked for the State as a Park Ranger at Avone State Park while Lydia was one of six elementary school teachers at the local K-12 school. Their quiet and peaceful life was interrupted when Lydia found out she was pregnant.

Maggie was a surprise baby, born on Halloween of 1967, but loved unconditionally and wholly nonetheless. The new parents took great caution with their first child, oftentimes treating the baby as if she were a piece of glass. Maggie, however, did not treat herself as though she were glass. The toddler was adventurous, curious, and incredibly clumsy. As a result, she was an accident prone child. Bumping into walls, tables, anything… By the time she was three, and the time her brother was born, the Foster’s had baby proof the entire house with bubble wrap and baby gates. Maggie was a good child and an even better older sister. The responsibility of being an older sister slightly mellowed the girl out, much to the relief of her parents.

With two children and a more clear sense of parenthood, Lydia and Micheal juggled parenthood and work well. Between the two of them, Micah and Maggie were loved and cared for. Micah cried a lot. Maggie read a lot. And spent a lot of time with Lydia’s coworker's daughter, Shelly doing everything under the sun. Playing sword fights, building forts, running through the forest collecting rocks and sticks, and reading together. Shelly and Maggie quickly became best friends. Not without younger brother Micah tagging along when he was old enough.

In the summer of 1975, the last Foster child was born. Lauren Foster was the fussiest of all the Foster children, crying and demanding all of Lydia’s attention. Still, Lydia adored her third child just as she adored all her children. Micah and Maggie were far too occupied with their friends and adventures to care too much about the extra attention Baby Foster was receiving. That same year, a tragic accident occured. On the way to work, Lydia got into a fatal accident which took her life and changed the Foster family for good.

Grief was a difficult emotion to process for a now single father with three children. While the family grieved together, Micheal made it his mission to provide his kids with a happy home. Taking up post as dad and mom, Micheal did his best to raise the children as Lydia would have wanted him to. Unfortunately, due to the lack of income from the lack of a parent, in 1976, Micheal accepted an offer from the State of Michigan to do conservation work in State parks across Michigan. This job paid much much more than his previous park ranger position, but took him away from his family. With Maggie being the eldest, she took the responsibility of being a parent half the time. She took care of her younger sister, made sure they all got to school or daycare, made meals that only a kid could cook up, and helped her father whenever and however she could.

Maggie’s life wasn’t without its perks. When Maggie officially entered Middle School, and joined the AV club. This sparked her interest in all things audiovisual. Movies. How they were made. Morning announcements. And even a bit of photography. She met Juno Kim in AV club and their mutual interest in AV helped them quickly become best friends. AV was half the reason Maggie survived middle school. That and her father’s collection of Tolkien books she’d dedicated herself to reading. After reading “The Hobbit” for the tenth time, a shy girl named Mary-Margaret begged her to let her read it in secret and sparked a surprise friendship.

In high school, she continued her love of AV by joining Kingsdale High School’s AV club, of which she was one of the five members. Despite being unable to convince Shelly to join the AV club, Maggie found lots of joy in her newfound community. Micah finally found his love of comic books and the tabletop game, Dungeons and Dragons. He begged Maggie to play with him and his friends in their garage. At first, Maggie refused. She loved fantasy as much as the next girl but Micah was asking her to spend her free time playing some game with a bunch of Middle Schoolers. No thanks. After a lot of flattery and a lot of bribing, Maggie caved and started playing Dungeons and Dragons with Micah and his crew of friends. This only lasted for a year and half– After Mary found out, she started teasing Maggie and she dropped it.

On the cusp of her senior year, Micheal was offered a high paying job in Indiana managing a developing state park. So, the Foster family packed up and hightailed their way over to Hawkins, Indiana… After getting a summer job at the local movie theater, Maggie is hopeful that the school year will bring her friends, adventure, and a chance to take over Hawkins High School's AV Club.

headcanons

- Maggie loves all sorts of music. Throw her a song, she's probably already listened to it.

- She doesn't get to watch a lot of movies so whenever she can, her full attention is on the action and the story.

- She can read like crazy fast. She runs out of books to read, so she rereads ones she's already read.

- Great piano player. Like crazy good.

- Maggie has never drank nor done drugs, outside of communion wine. But that doesn't really count.

- Can hold her own in a fight really well... Curtesy of her younger brother that liked to fight.

- more to come :0
