ferid bathory is a slender, slightly tall vampire with a very feminine figure for a man. he has many typically feminine features about him. his hair is long and silver, reaching just below his waist, and is usually tied back in a ponytail with a ribbon of his choosing, which is tied in the shape of a bow. his bangs are medium length, and his hair part is on the right. his bangs hang in his face, but do not obscure his eyes from vision. he has longer bangs that hang on the sides of his face.
his face is long, but his cheeks are slightly soft. his face has gentle, delicate features, quite opposite to who he truly is. his eyes are a deep red, and his eye shape is narrow, and almost judgmental. his lips are thin and pale, though sometimes, his fangs poke out of his mouth, resting on his bottom lip. his fangs are razor sharp, and they are his top incisors. his nose is rounded at the tip, and on the smaller, "cuter" side. his face is extremely expressive.
his skin is pale as snow, with a severe lack of colour due to the fact there is no blood being pumped through his veins -- as a vampire, his heart stopped beating hundreds of years ago. however, a slight tint of colour can be seen on his cheeks once he's had something to drink ~. his hands are usually obscured by gloves, but they are bony, with long, slender fingers and sharp, pointed fingernails that he paints different colours.
his ears are pointed and poke out from underneath his hair. these, too, can be described as "cute," depending on who sees him. they are pierced, only once, on both lobes. he usually wears hanging earrings, adorned with red, diamond shaped gemstones. rubies, perhaps?
he has two different canonical outfits. one of these is his uniform as a sanguinem vampire noble, as he is a seventh progenitor. it is a white soldier's outfit, with an outer coat that also doubles as a cape, of sorts. the sides of his upper, long sleeved uniform coat goes into tails, reaching his ankles. he wears a black belt. his inner sleeves are frilly. he has a frilly cravat, and a red bow tied around his neck. his pants are white, and his boots are black, and go all the way up to his thighs. his hair is tied back in a ponytail with a black ribbon tied into a bow.
his other outfit (of which is my personal favourite) is far more simple. he wears a white dress shirt with a banded collar, where a black ribbon is looped through it and tied into a loose hanging bow. this shirt is button down, with buttons down the middle, and six black lines that go down from the bottom of the collar to the bottom of the shirt, three on each side of the buttons. this shirt is tucked into black trousers with a black belt looped around his waist, and he wears black dress shoes. around his shoulders is a very stereotypically vampire-core black cape, with the collar and everything. he wears his hair down and long, and does not wear any earrings. he also loses the gloves.
he smells of human blood and expensive floral perfume scents.

ferid bathory is known as an enigma among humans and vampires alike. some say that it was never becoming a vampire that made him like this, no -- he's /always/ been this way, even when he was a human child. some even say it was a /mistake/ to turn him into a vampire, due to how freakishly odd he is. not much is known about his past, but at a young age, he murdered his parents. while doing so, he told them how much he truly loved them, saying he was doing it /because/ he loved them so much. he was born to a family of nobility, possibly even royalty, and was under immense pressure to be perfect so he could take the throne. ferid has always had issues regulating his emotions and expressing them properly, which led to the murder of his parents at his hand.
even now, as a vampire, /other/ vampires either fear or strongly dislike him, some even going as far as to hate him for the fact that he is capable of experiencing emotions. as many vampires have said, it is "highly unusual for a vampire to be capable of emotions." this is because vampires lose their humanity the longer they are alive, but ferid never seemed to have 'humanity' in the first place. realistically, becoming a vampire didn't change ferid much at /all/.
ferid has always been /strange/. he is plagued by a sense of chronic boredom, constantly on the search for something new to entertain him, no matter how innocent or harmful it could be. it usually tends to be on the more harmful side, resulting in the pain or even the death of another individual, whether they are human /or/ a vampire. sometimes, this harm extends to himself. he is very reckless, and driven by his cravings to do anything and everything he feels may entertain him. this entertainment serves as a distraction for how truly emotional he is, and how strong his emotions are. he plays pranks on people that he feels are perfectly fine, but are usually morally disgusting and horrid in nature. for example, there is one running joke he decided to keep alive after teasing an (at the time) human crowley eusford for "being into young boys" at the notice of his young apprentice, jose (crowley eusford is /not/ into young boys). when he invited crowley to his manor for a dinner party, he had hired dozens of child servants, all dressed in provocative clothing, just so he could tease crowley even worse. he was /not/ by any means into these children, himself. it was simply an extremely cruel and morally depraved joke he chose to play. the whole reason he even got /involved/ with crowley was out of boredom. crowley's first impression of ferid was when he found the vampire (although he did not know ferid was a vampire at this time) digging through a dead prostitute's slit throat with bare fingers to try and find evidence for the crime (plot twist, he had been the one to do it all along).
he is highly intelligent. despite being a 7th progenitor, which is essentially the middle rank of vampire nobles, he still manages to carry out the elimination of those of a much higher rank than him due to pure intelligence. ferid can be incredibly persuasive, manipulative, and cunning. he's incredibly skilled at creating intricate plans, and once again i will cite the fact that everything leading up to crowley eusford's vampire transformation was all due to ferid's careful planning. he had managed to fool crowley all along into trusting him, when everything in truth was all ferid's fault. he did not even turn crowley with his /own/ blood. he used a sample of blood from the man who turned /him/, so that he and crowley would be equals. though, crowley has to lie about this, because there is only supposed to be seven seventh progenitors, not eight. therefore, crowley has had to lie about being a thirteenth progenitor for hundreds of years, or ferid would be killed.
ferid has also always had a penchant for the blood of the young or innocent. despite vampire laws forbidding vampires from drinking directly from a source, he would invite the human children of sanguinem (of which were livestock) to his mansion, where he would give them any item they wanted in exchange for some of their blood. he is by no means, however, sexually interested in children despite many misconceptions about him. in fact, he is driven by such a thirst for blood, that he lacks sexual interest in anything (most of the time). though, it has been stated that if he /were/ to be interested in something sexually, he would be bisexual.
ferid has an extremely twisted way of thinking, processing emotions, and expressing love. the reason that crowley eusford is a vampire today is entirely because of ferid. ferid loved him so much that he felt the need to force him to live forever, by his side, so he would never be bored (or lonely) again. there is another reason for this, but it is not relevant to ferid's profile. however, doing so completely ruined crowley's life, until he was alive for so long that he eventually forgot his anger and no longer could feel anything about it, or remember why he was angry at ferid in the first place. these two are now nearly inseparable, although crowley still disapproves of ferid's way of thinking as well as his behaviour.
on the outside, ferid is silly, humorous, and can't take anything seriously. he teases everyone around him, and refers to anyone he takes a liking to as his 'friends', even if they absolutely despise him. he can be very helpful depending on whether or not he's interested in a situation or an individual. he's very lighthearted, and does not understand the extent of the effects his actions have on other people. for example, he tries to be friendly to mikaela hyakuya and later yuu hyakuya, acting as if nothing happened when he was the one who murdered their orphanage family. he is extremely expressive, his face always capable of showing his emotions. though, he can usually be seen wearing a smug, sh*t eating grin. he often expresses most of his emotions through smiles, however. even when he is nervous or angry, he smiles. he likes to give the impression that he thinks highly of himself, even calling himself "cute and irresistible" and explaining that that's why he's capable of making friends (he is not). he makes distasteful jokes, pissing people off and sometimes even downright offending them or making them incredibly uncomfortable.
despite all of this, ferid bathory experiences deep suicidal ideation and sadness, which may come as a major surprise. in passing, he makes remarks wondering why vampires are granted immortality when they were never given a reason to live, as well as talking about how /boring/ it is to be alive. at one point, he offers his blood to crowley eusford, telling him (and this is an actual quote from the manga),
"do it. drink my blood. drink so much you nearly kill me. no, wait . . . /actually kill me/."
furthermore, ferid's view on existence as a whole is entirely nihilistic. he believes that there is absolutely no point to life, whether it is that of a human or a vampire. in his words, "you live and live, but nothing changes. /ever/. the sky could be blue or black, it doesn't matter. there's no point to living at all. none!"
