you can call me rotverse, or rot, or simply by the epithet i usually go by online: pearline. it's nice to meet you! i have been writing for many years now, and have recently discovered i quite like roleplaying, too. there's nothing i enjoy more than setting up little worlds of my own, a bit like creating ornate dioramas, and to get to crawl into my characters' skins is magic to me just as well.
as my profile already indicates i have a strong preference for grimdark (wikipedia defines it: somewhat dystopian, amoral, violent) settings. think video games like pathologic and fear and hunger (a bit more niche: babbdi); books like lapvona by ottessa moshfegh. (true) crime is another genre i enjoy incorporating.
though i would describe myself as a very gentle person, perhaps even a scaredy cat, i have always found myself drawn to the macabre and the unsettling, to twisted and haunting atmospheres and complex, sometimes troubling, and gritty narratives. roleplays i most enjoy usually deal with themes of disease, poverty, violence, murder, power dynamics, religion/religious fanaticism, and unhealthy relationships. as you can most likely estimate, i'm not much of a slice-of-life roleplayer... lol!
