A Human, Lycan, and Vampire Walk Into A Bar....

"Oi, seriously?" Maya facepalmed, "I thought you were a bit wet behind the ears, but not daft. You won't go makin' any friends if you go 'round calling people a 'subspecies' and whatnot. You're trying to build an army to take down a kingdom, not rally up a posse to hunt us down. Also, I've been thinkin', but it sounds like a lot of us are gonna be dying for this coup of yours, and who's to say these other 'subspecies' will want any part of that? They're gonna be expectin' a fair share of the spoils afterwards, and they might try their hand at takin' the main seat at the dinner table once everyone else has bled themselves dry."

The redhead stared at the royal, not sure what to make of her. It seemed like she had this great fantasy of heroic action and bringing peace and tranquility to the land, but little real knowledge of how to do it. She'd probably never spent much time outside her castle walls, and thus never truly experienced what this world was like. Staring at it through the window was one thing, living and enduring it was another. Maya could tell that the woman was going to have a very rude awakening once she tried to get things in motion, if her lousy introduction earlier was anything to go by.

She crossed her arms and sighed, "At this point I'd almost feel bad for saying no and leavin' you to get yourself killed. You need an actual plan, lass. This isn't somethin' you jump into half-cocked and on a whim."

"Well how was I supposed to know? Magic ain't my strong suit and it felt like a cold bucket of water had splashed over me." Maya rubbed her temples, "Ah, whatever. No use in arguin' with ya, 'specially when I'm tipsy." She caught Mika glancing at her as he described the people he liked to avoid and she rolled her eyes, "Wasn't gonna pound ya, Blondie. Not after buying me a drink, at least. Probably would've if you had tried anything funny." The redhead nodded as the vampire asked his question, "Same thing I was thinkin'. I ain't exactly welcome with my old pack, anymore. I got the ol' boot a couple years ago."

Maya scowled, "Oi, you were the one who hit me with magic and then doused me in ale, Your Forgetfulness. What in bloody hell were you expectin' from me?" She pulled some of her hair down and gave it a sniff, "And now I reek like that bum behind the tavern. A real splendid day this has been so far. I hope they got showers wherever you're leadin' us to."

A Human, Lycan, and Vampire Walk Into A Bar....

Oh, she was furious. Enough so that her form began to shift as her werewolf persona demanded that she rip the royal's throat out for demeaning her once again. Her claws began to grow to their full length as her canines followed suit, and her vision began to turn red as her eyes zeroed in on the frail woman that hid behind her cursed magics.

In all honesty, her display of magic power would have put most werewolves to heel, as they respected and followed strength and weren't as willing to charge to their death in a bestial fury as many outsiders believed, but the redhead had been ousted for the sole reason that she didn't care for such things. That was why her feet were already driving her toward the human as soon as she was released, her claws and fangs ready to rend the woman of her flesh and blood.

She stopped mid-lunge, however, after hearing the end of her speech, unable to believe what she had said. Maya's vision began to clear as her chest vibrated, and at first she thought she was growling, until she realized that she was actually laughing. The redhead's body slowly reverted back as she held her stomach, her abdomen flexing with each guffaw that erupted from her mouth.

That woman was crazy, she was sure of it. No sane person would throw a drink in a werewolf's face, proceed to lift and taunt them with magic, and then ask for their help in recruiting their vicious relatives to aid in a plot to overthrow a kingdom that could probably kill them all if they really felt like it.

Maya wiped the tears from her eyes as she shook her head in response to the ridiculousness of the situation she found herself in, "I've met a lot of characters in my time, Princess, but you definitely make them seem downright boring. You know what, I'll join your merry band of revolutionaries, if only to get into the fights that'll no doubt sprout up thanks to your amazin' communication skills."

Her green eyes narrowed as her tone grew serious, "But listen well, lass. Next time you use your f***in' magic on me like that again, you'll be gasping out your last before you even realize I tore out your throat." Maya gave her a wide smile, showing off her canines, "Got that?"

"A bloody royal, eh? Explains the lack of common sense. You lot spend your time locked away behind your pearly gates so I ain't even surprised." Maya slid her fingers through her red locks, eyeing the woman through the long strands falling over her face, "Aye, you're right about your folk treatin' us like dogs, but that doesn't bother me much. Not like our claws are free of blood, either. In our world, the strong survive, and the weak keep us fed. Bringing peace and all that sh*te doesn't hold much of a candle to predators like us who thrive off hunting other creatures down. We're not the kind to be domesticated."

She looked down at her hands, clicking her claws against one another, "Besides, you're a few men short of an army, Princess. You got the steel to back up this coup, or are ya simply goin' to ask nicely?"
