The Bond Between Man and Animal

The principle smiled as the students got a brief look of the inside of the mansion sized school. "Now students," he called, getting their attention, "I have your first assessment. You must meet me and the teachers in the Sitting Room," he said pausing. Some of the students asked where the Sitting Room was located, he chuckled and explained, "I'm not telling you. Your assessment will be finding your way around a new location without knowledge or a map. The school's very big so it may take you awhile. We'll be waiting." with that, the principle walked away, all the teachers following behind. Then the principle looked back and added, "By the way, it's a race."

Takhma looked around at all the other students, taking in their expressions. He honestly couldn't say whether he could or couldn't do this. Being a good hunter, he had some tracking and searching skills but they were used in wild areas, not massive mansions. Not to mention it was a race to the end. "Anyone want to come with me?" he asked, wondering if people were going alone or with someone else. If no one answered, he would have to go in alone.

The Bond Between Man and Animal

Everyone had attended the schools opening. All were excited to see a new school that would teach the next generation to defend their homes. The teachers and principle leaders of the school stepped up to the front. "Welcome all, students and otherwise, to the School for Specials." the principle introduced, arms outstretched. "We promise to train these young people in the ways of the warrior. I believe they will be the downfall of Mysr Island and the rise of the whole of Gwevilia!" the principle finished, then gestured for the students to come up. The large doors were pushed open and all students were able to enter.

Takhma Urupi arrived at the school rather early. He didn't mean to but his home of Tuntra was very far from Forstr, he wasn't sure when he would arrive at the island. But now he was here and excited. Uthyru, his polar bear, was also excited, but more contained than Takhma. Ever since the school was announced, he'd wanted to attend. He loved Gwevilia and would do anything to defend it, Uthyru agreed.

As soon as the doors opened, Takhma and Uthyru rushed in, but they were quickly stopped, "Animals don't go in there," the principle said with a smile, "We have a separate building for them." then he snapped his fingers and one of the teachers came and took Uthyru away. Other teachers came and took the other animals away. The principle knew the kids would miss their pets, but this was all part of the learning experience. The students had to learn they couldn't always rely on their animals. They would have to rely on their own strengths sometimes.

The Bond Between Man and Animal

In a land known as Gwevilia, there are people born with special blood. Their blood connects them to an animal, an animal that, if found, becomes their life long companion and protector. These people are either born with strange appearances or looking normal, either way, they have an animal that they must find and stay with. There are no two people who have the same animal companion. The animals can’t talk but they can communicate with their human companions only, through their sounds.

There are many islands in Gwevilia, each having a different biome and inhabiting different animals. It’s on these islands that these special animals and people are born. For a while, no one knew about these special people, meaning they would never find their animals, but after a while, people started noticing. The special ones would find the animals meant for them and realise they have some sort of connection with them. When the population of specials ones increased drastically and the threat and rise of Mysr Island, a place filled with evil people longing to take over all of Gwevilia, it was decided that these people should be used to help defend Gwevilia. So now, anyone born special must attend a school located on a small island called Forstr where they learn how to bond with their animals and use their abilities to fight against evil.

The school has officially been opened and now, anyone between the ages of 13 and 18 can come. In the school, groups of students would be sent on adventures where their skills would be put to the test and their friendships with their animal companions and each other were tested. The students must work hard as everyday the threat of Mysr invading grows bigger and bigger. One day, they may face Mysr and take it down. Failure isn’t an option.

Islands:

Alantrah: A desert environment, Arabian is style. Hot and humid most of the time with very little rain and small villages separated miles and miles away from each other. The animals that live here would be able to live in a desert climate.

Winstir: The largest and most lush of the islands. A large forest biome with villages spread far and wide. The villages are usually quite big and trade paths have been made between each and every one. Animals that live in forest would be found here.

Tuntra: A cold land of everlasting winter. Cold but nice. It has hills and valleys with many small villages scattered around. Snowfall is very common and arctic or animals that can survive cold climates live here.

Fjornr: A land filled with mountains and hills tall enough for the tops to be coated in snow. Villages will often be found in or around the mountains. The villages are quite large and close together. Mountain creatures would live here.

The Sea Stack Islands: These are a bunch of small Islands, each having a village and each overlooking the ocean. Dragons live in these parts, in fact it’s the only place where dragons exist. Other animals that would live here would be sea creatures, sky creatures or animals that live in the grasslands.

Csavastear: This land mimics the savannas of Africa. Little rain, hot weather, long grassy plains with few trees. Large villages are scattered about the area. Animals most commonly found in savannas would live here.

Shuntrea: This land is a jungle, literally. Villages are all connected to each other and are often found in or on trees, towering over the lands. Any jungle creatures would live here.

Fenlands: A marsh or swamp like land filled with water and mud. Villages are built on stilts and flooding is a common occurrence here. Swamp animals would live around these parts.

My Character
Name: Takhma Urupi
Gender: Male
Age(13-18): 15
Appearance: Takhma has very dark brown skin, long white hair that is actually fur and dark, almost black looking, brown eyes.

Personality: He’s easy going and friendly to most people but if he decides he doesn’t like someone it takes a while for him to change his mind. Being quite stubborn it would take a lot of convincing for him to change his opinion on something. He’s also very protective of others and is almost always in a good mood, but when he’s not, he can get quite aggressive.

Backstory: Takhma Urupi was born with fur for hair and white markings on his face. Everyone in his small village already knew he was a special one just by this simple detail, so when he turned ten, his parents made him live out in the snow until he found his animal. Luckily, Takhma can survive in super cold weather so he fared fine in the wild. One day, he spotted two dark eyes, he knew it meant there was a polar bear there. Polar bears were rare in Tuntra since they were hunted often for their fur, Takhma himself had encounter people who wanted to take his hair, since it was fur. The polar bear had found Takhma due to their bond and they quickly realised they were supposed to be each other's companions. Uthyru, the polar bear, and Takhma bonded then returned to the village where he was then sent to the school for specials. That's when he attended the school to become a warrior and stop Mysr from taking over Gwevilia.

Animal Companion: A polar bear named Uthyru. He’s rather large for a polar bear and he makes up for the lack of strength with his own, though he’s still quite agile, quick and can move around rather well.

Character Ability: Able to live in very cold climates, not very good in hot places. His skin is rather cold to the touch.

Skills: He’s rather good with a spear and has great hand-eye co-ordination and aim. Very nimble and agile but not the strongest.
Island of Inhabitancy: Tuntra Island
