Backstory:
Born in a Nobel family in 1300AD, Ana-Marie Winston was married off when she turned 16 to Duke Daniel Woodworth, who was 19. They had their son Andrew not long after, and when she was 22, she gave birth to Annie; her family was complete.

After the birth of Annie, she visited a friend, leaving her two young children with a Nurse. Upon meeting her friend, she met Elijah Kingston, who instantly took a liking to the Duchess and walked her home. After a few surprising meetings, she fell in love with him but kept it a secret because she was married with two children and still loved her husband.

One night, a few months after meeting Elijah, she was on her way home alone from a ball when thieves overtook her carriage, and she was stabbed in the stomach and left on the street for dead.

Elijah was nearby and smelled blood; he followed the scent and found her lying in the streets. He had fallen in love with the girl in the small amounts of time they spent together, so he bit her, injecting the venom into her bloodstream.

He took her back to his home, where she died, thus becoming a vampire.

Because of her feelings for the Vampire, she became sired to him, and they began a relationship after she said goodbye to her children late that night and faked her death. She knew her children would be safe but had to leave England with Elijah because she was so well known. She changed her name to Ana-Marie Carter.

After discovering her extraordinary power, The Siren Song, Elijah took her to meet the Vampire Council, who took an interest in her power and asked her to join, keeping other vampires safe from Vampire Hunters and keeping order.

After many, many years and a strange again off again romance with Elijah, he agreed to let her go; he was wild and killed humans left and right due to a lack of self-control; because he didn't want to control himself, and Ana-Marie only killed when necessary. They went their separate ways in 1589, and Ana-Marie hadn't seen him since.

Upon her return to England in the late 1600s on a mission for the Council, she uncovered any information on her family, read old articles, and was shown journals about their lives. She was shocked that Daniel never remarried, making her feel guilty about leaving him without explanation and her children without a mother. Though when she learned that her daughter Annie became Queen of England in her mid-twenties, she was filled with pride and visited the burial grounds, she never learned what became of her son Andrew or her parents.

She left the Vampire Council in 1822 to find herself, traveling without restrictions or a goal in mind and learning at any chance she gets, and in 2022 she becomes a High school English Teacher, where the story begins.
