Guidelines [Extended]

hello!  thank you so much for stopping by and checking out my guidelines!  i'm currently in the middle of re-wording and re-organizing certain parts, so please excuse the mess and don't hesitate to ask if you've any questions or concerns.  thanks.

      [THE ACT OF WRITING]
i. first things first, comprehensible spelling, grammar, & punctuation whilst in character & out of character are mandatory.  persistent errors that i cannot decipher may lead me to unfriend you.  i don't demand perfect english, as everyone is prone to mistakes, but it is essential that i understand your messages.

ii. i favor the novella style myself.  i know it's not everyone's cup of tea, so i'm happy to work with general multi-para and para.  please don't ever feel pressured to match my length!  i like to write, a lot, and it will be evident.  so long as you give me something to work with, we're cool, my guy.

iii. i prefer plotting threads ahead of time, so please don't message me ic right out of the gate.  i want to write something we both will enjoy, and that's diffficult to do if we haven't talked beforehand.  as such, i put a lot of time and energy into plotting as well as the actual roleplay!  if add you, i likely have an idea or two already in mind.  i won't require that you must also have something ready to throw at me (i'll gladly start from scratch), though i do ask that you put effort into plotting with me regardless.  i'm happy to pitch things left and right, but please don't turn everything down without offering a counter suggestion.  i want your input!  it's hard to work with someone who answers my 4+ paragraphs of brainstorming with two apathetic sentences.  i will take this as an example of the effort you would put into our roleplay, and i may unfriend you.  additionally, i appreciate transparency and clarity.  communicate your preferences, your likes, dislikes, the characters you will play or will create for a plot, etc.  i certainly will myself.

iv. if any of my characters, original or canon, interest you, be sure to mention that!  as many as i've listed here, i do always have more ocs in development that i'd be happy to bring up whilst plotting. i will also create a new character for a plot if need be.  and as far as genres go, i am eager to explore historical, crime, and fantasy plots most of all, but i don't limit myself to them.  i enjoy romance, mystery/suspense, drama, and horror, but not necessarily as the sole focus of a plot. overall, i'm willing to give almost anything a shot that doesn't involve wrestling, furry, k-pop, anime, or celebrities/real people.

      [NEED TO KNOW]
v. selective, advanced-literate, & third-person limited. canon and original characters are welcome, and i love crossovers.

vi. multi-muse, multi-fandom, multi-verse, & multi-ship.  don't hesitate to mention your preferences for ships if that comes up! i lead ever so slightly in favor of fxf, but i'm game for anything (mxm, mxnb, mxf, fxnb, & fxf).

vii. discord is available upon request!  it's not my default, but i am willing to move over there should you prefer it or if we have difficulties with dms here.

[THE TORTOISE GETS THERE IN THE END]
viii. as i write at the speed of george r.r. martin, i do beg for your patience!  i am a (recovering) perfectionist, anxious mess, and chronic overthinker, all of which impact my writing pace.  i typically allow for a week to work on replies, but that time frame isn't always a guarantee (for better or worse).  please don't misunderstand late or sporadic replies for anything more than that. though it may not need to be stated, i am very patient and encourage my partners to take all the time needed for replies.

ix. regarding absences, i do my best to notify my partners ahead of time and keep people updated if i exceed a week's time frame for my reply.  a nudge after two weeks of a sudden disappearance is fine, as an aside, but please don't pester constantly!  i'm a busy girl with my studies, job, and four-month-old puppy taking precedence over my hobbies.  in my experience, partners who demand overly rigid, scheduled responses from me fail to accept i have a life outside roleplaying.  so if potentially inconsistent replies from me are a deal-breaker for you, please don't waste our time and add me.  thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

      [PROBLEMATIC OCCURRENCES]
x. discrimination: i feel obliged to mention that i condemn ooc discrimination (on the basis of religion, race/ethnicity, gender, sexuality, identity, etc).  i'm not here for ooc drama (such as political rants, call-out posts, hate, & general negativity) either.  if i see any of this on my feed or in my messages, i will unfriend and block the offender immediately.

xi. godmodding and overbearing muns: simply put, i do not tolerate godmodding or dominating partners.  i don't aim to control you, your decisions during our rp, or your character.  ever.  i expect this of my partners, too.  by plotting ahead of time, we likely will have established key elements, points, and occurrences or situations we want to happen.  however, i don't believe in writing a full script to follow.  what's the point of writing with a partner if every line, every moment, is already decided?  i love improvisation, and i will follow my partner's lead should they direct the story down a certain path i didn't anticipate/we didn't discuss in detail prior.  i hope to find creative partners who are willing to take chances and go with the flow in the heat of the moment.

xii. finally, i don't tolerate metagaming, self-inserts, mary-sues, semi, or one-liners.  i don't roleplay with minors, so please be truthful and upfront about your age.  additionally, i prefer both of our characters to be at least eighteen years old, but preferably older than twenty.  i will not interact with muses under eighteen.

      [OOC CORRESPONDENCE]
xiii. if i add you, i will message first.  i will expect you to do the same should you add me.

xiv. i do often enjoy chatting during an ongoing rp!  if i've a comment or a question, i'll add it at the end of my post and behind // to indicate it's me talking and not my character.  and if we've talked for a while and we share similar interests, i'd be happy to connect elsewhere (discord, tumblr, twitter, etc).

xv. i don't send passwords or 'like' rule blog posts.  i can assure you i've read your rules (i naturally do so to determine compatibility, learn how you conduct yourself, & how i should conduct myself whilst writing with you), but i won't confirm that fact via a password or a 'like.'  you'll have to take my word for it just as i'll take yours.

      [NSFW MATERIAL]
xvi. i love the dark and taboo!  as such, the following may occur during an RP: tragedy & dark themes (substance abuse, apocalypse scenarios, human struggles, tragic consequences, revenge & sacrifice, grey morality), violence (sadism, torture, gore/body horror, brainwashing & conditioning, kidnapping, warfare, physical & emotional abuse, domestic & referenced past child abuse), horror & the supernatural (the occult, demons, ghosts, monsters, mythology), religion & religious aspects (particularly elements of judaism, but also christianity, islam, pagan religions, voodoo, & cults), and mental illness (anxiety, depression & suicidal tendencies, self-destructive behavior, personality disorders, psychosis).  pervasive strong and offensive/vulgar language will likely occur.

xvii. as a rather prudish asexual, er*t*ca isn't my jam.  i've written smut in the past, and in most cases, i don't care for it.  i would much prefer to fade to black should a plot go down that road.  please don't add me if writing just p0rn is your intention.

xviii. please let me know ahead of time if you have any triggers or if there are any topics you'd like to avoid.  as for myself, i would not appreciate graphic descriptions of animal torture or death.
