A hybrids solitude

Meet Axel, the product of a love affair of man and beast? Or perhaps a curse given as a child? He doesn't know the truth... all he knows is he can only rely on himself.

From a young age he was chased away and attacked for being different... not quite human, not quite beast... a mix of the two that made both sides cast him out. At first, he was passed around orphanages, often kept in the basements of them... as he would scare off potential parents seeking a child to care for. When he grew tired of the beatings from both the adults and fellow orphans, he escaped to woodlands and tried to find some of his kin there... but the creatures did not understand either of his forms... and he had to scare them off in his dragon-like figure to avoid being killed.

Hes come to the mentality that everyone was out to get him... that he was a mistake that the world seeked to erase. So he fled to the high mountains, finding a cave that he now calls home... the blistering cold meant most wouldn't dare ascend and he rarely had to leave as, luckily enough, the cave had a secret grove that was like walking from a chill winter morning into a sauna. It bore fruit... and had a stream of fresh water. It was all he could ask for...

Yet, despite now living a life with no fear of being attacked... a void filled his chest, one desire both sides of him yearned for was someone who wouldn't attack him. After years of living up on the mountain, an icy cage grew around his heart as he accepted no one could love an abomination like him...
