suffers from depression, it’s not as prominent like others but it still has more of an affect on him on his bad days. he hasn’t self harmed in awhile so that’s an improvement for his mental health, he’s also open about the scars on his arms and thighs, but doesn’t like people commenting on them.

background:
lacey grew up in a fairly normal home as an only child in new york, his parents did argue but it wasn’t nothing too serious. lacey’s mother enjoyed watching him draw little funky designs and always encouraged him to do more by buying small art kits for him despite them not having a lot of money to go by. but of course she saw that her son would become something great so she did whatever she could to make that happen. lacey’s father was against it though, arguing with his wife about how they’re barely going by with food on a daily.
and so instead of using the families money she used her own to support lacey who of course at the time knew what she was doing wasn’t right but didn’t say anything, he wanted to see his mother happy so he used the kits she got him. that was until his mother was diagnosed with cancer.
his father was a complete mess since he didn’t have enough money to pay for treatment for her, but she wasn’t mad or upset in the slightest. so for the next few months lacey would come visit his mom in the hospital and show her all the drawings and paintings he made till her last breath. it struck him and his father hard, but mainly lacey which caused him to spiral into depression at the age of 14.
the change in his family had caused frequent arguments amongst his father and him and as well as his grades to rapidly drop putting more and more pressure on him leading to his self harm incidents. by the age of 15 his father had found out and was beyond furious but also heart broken knowing that his child, his own flesh and blood was struggling. and knowing he couldn’t take care of him anymore, lacey’s father aloud him to go live with his grandparents who were completely sympathetic and understanding towards the situation. so as the years went on, they helped him both mentally and physically as well as in school allowing him to graduate.
once his grandparents found out he wanted to become a tattoo artist they did everything they could to make that dream happen. which leads to today where he own a small tattoo shop that’s pretty well known in the area. as for his father, he hasn’t spoken or seen him since he moved out and doesn’t want to reconnect at all.
