The Winchester's Living Lie Detector

Sam and Dean got out of their ‘67 Chevy Impala, both were dressed in sharp suits. Grant and Jack stood up from the backseat. The dark-haired boy turned to the nephilim, who was also severely overdressed. He looked him up and down with a small grin. Grant had to admit, Jack cleaned up nicely. The boy with the raven hair glanced down at his own tight, stuffy suit.

“Do I really have to wear this thing?” Grant asked, tugging on his tie to loosen it.

“Yes, you do and, hey-” Dean smacked the boy’s arm away, fixing the knot he had ruined. “Quit messing with it and don’t speak unless spoken to.” The blonde man stuck an accusatory finger in Grant’s face. “And no attacking people.”

“Dean,” Sam sighed with a half assed eyeroll. “Relax, he’ll be fine.”

Grant gave him an unamused glare. “You know, I lived with humans for years before meeting you.”

The two hunters and their junior associate walked into an ordinary office building, Grant trailing alongside them. They all showed their fake badges to the person at the front desk and wandered the hallway until they reached the right room.

As soon as the boys opened the door, Grant could feel a powerful aura radiating from the man behind the desk. He looked like an ordinary office worker, bland and boring as ever. His aura, however, told a different story. It was dark and foreboding, but it was different from other beasts Grant had come across.

Dean and his brother sat down on chairs adjacent to the man, while Jack and Grant sat behind them.

The man eyed the two boys curiously. “What’s with the children, fellas? Got stuck babysitting?” He chuckled, but his eyes and, more importantly, his mind were far less casual. ‘Oh god, they’re with the FBI. I hope they don’t- calm down, Brian. You didn’t do anything wrong, so you shouldn’t be worried.’

“These are our interns, graduated top of their class.” Sam responded smoothly. “They’re just here to watch.”

Dean started questioning the man and he tried his best to look cool and unaffected. In truth, he was freaking out. Grant wasn’t exactly listening to their conversation as he was far more concentrated on the thoughts in his head. As the questions progressed, his inner voice became more panicked. ‘On no, oh god. 5 people mauled to death? They’re definitely talking about Jimmy. Damn it, Jim! I knew this would happen! Now we're all in danger!’

Grant was so lost in the man’s inner dialogue that he didn’t realize that the conversation was already over and brothers were getting ready to leave. He was pulled back to reality by Sam’s hand on his shoulder. It was so unexpected that he flinched a little.

“Grant.” Sam said in a soft, yet authoritative tone. “Come on.”

The kid followed the ‘agents’ out of the room. He could tell they were all eager to hear the information he’s gathered from the man’s mind, but they waited to talk until they were outside and away from prying eyes.

As soon as they were far enough from anyone, Dean spun around, eyes locked with Grant. “So, whatcha got?”

The raven-haired boy sighed. “Well, I wasn’t really paying attention to his answers to your questions.”

Dean and Sam both shot him an unamused glare.

“But, I do know he’s not human.”

Sam tilted his head. “Do you think he did it?”

Grant shook his head. “He’s scared, like dead scared, but he didn’t do it. However, he knows who did. The guy’s name is Jimmy.”

“Jimmy who?”

“Don’t know.”

Dean’s glare deepened. “Well, aren’t you helpful?”

Grant gave him a glower of his own. “Do you refer to your friends by their full name when you're talking to yourself?”

Sam gently elbowed his brother. “He has a point. Besides, Grant did help us by confirming that Brian didn’t do it and he gave us the name of the person who did.”

WaywardSister Outside a cherry red '57 Bel-air was parked behind Dean's car and a girl in a leather jacket and teared jeans was sitting on the hood of the said car, she was smiling some and knew she shouldn't be on the car but was typing on her phone to busy to notice her brothers coming back from the law offices.

She was typing a text to a certain angel. 'Don't worry I'm fine. I just took off for a bit, I'll be back soon and you know that.' When she was finished she smirked and looked up to see her brother standing over her with crossed arms.

"Aww....come on, you don't expect me to to sit on my car, its ten years older then yours Dean." she pouted some and held up her hands. "Fine. I'll get off. Geez." she just smiled.

"I appreciate you taking off and leaving the bunker, leaving me and Cas behind, I love the alone time with him and all but you've been gone longer then usual and you haven't answered my texts jackass." she gently punched her elder brothers shoulder.

ArchangelAriel "Yeah, well we were a little...preoccupied. Jack was being hunted for a bit, but he's safe now." Dean responded with a sigh and threw a half assed glare at Grant as he caught to the party.

For a second, Grant forgot he was a hostage and causally picked up a lollipop from the front desk as they left. As soon as he laid eyes on the girl, he could tell she was a Winchester. Not just by the friendly sibling banter, but by her aura. She had the same energy, with something strange mixed in with it. He could only describe it as wild or untamed and strangely thought of the moon as he looked her over. "And who helped with that." Grant said as he walked into the conversation. "Cause it definitely wasn't you." He took the candy from his mouth and gave Alex a polite nod. "Nice jacket."

"Grant." Sam replied in a disappointed, fatherly tone. He lowered his tone as he approached the kid. "Don't give Dean a reason to shoot you...because he will."

Grant simply glared up at the moose. "I'm sorry, am I supposed to be in a better mood about getting kidnapped?" He rose his voice in frustration.

"Quiet down, someone could hear." Sam whispered, putting a hand on the boy's shoulder.

"You know you're doing something good when you have to say that." The raven-haired boy rolled his eyes. "Don't worry, there's no one out here. I would've heard their thoughts."

WaywardSister "So....whose this, he smells like a vampire but its diluted." Alex lowered her sunglasses a bit to look at the boy and smirked a bit as she was a bit amused by him, she could sense something inside her head and it wasn't anything like having Cas read her min.

'Trust me, kid. He will kill you.' she thought out as her yellow eyes were shown, she pushed her glasses back up and pocketed her phone and looked back to Dean and Sam. ".....You said they kidnapped you, what did you both do?" she crossed her arms and looked between the two of them questionably and a bit suspiciously.

"I'm gone and you both kidnap some kid, nice boys." she rolled her eyes under her sunglasses and then looked back to Jack. "Jack, are you alright....who was hunting you?" she asked with deep concern, she sounded almost motherly towards him, she looked to her car for a moment and sighed. She knew she could easily track whatever was looking for him and kill with her sword but she had this feeling in the pit of her stomach that something was wrong.

ArchangelAriel "Yeah I figured that much on my own, thanks." Grant replied to her blandly, before realizing that wasn't something she out loud. "Shit, that's something you said in your head, wasn't it?" He didn't always have grasp on the difference between a voice he heard and a voice inside his head. He did his best to distinguish the two with context clues.

Sam sighed and tried to put his thoughts into words. "Ok, this is going to sound really strange, but...Grant is a psychic vampire."

"Doesn't sound too bad when you say it like that." The kid shrugged. "I usually just say I'm an anemic whose allergic to the sun and hears voices in my head." He said as he glanced up at the sky and scooted under a tree, towards the shade. He was already missing his hooded jacket.

"He agreed the join the team to help us out." Dean explained, choosing his words carefully. "He can read the mind of anything, including demons apparently. Even Cas can't do that."

"Not even close to the truth but, that reminds me. Asmodeus was sitting like right next to you guys and you didn't notice?"

"He can change is face, like a shapeshifter." Responded Sam with a sigh. "And apparently hide his energy because neither Cas nor Jack could sense him."

"But, I could?" Grant asked.

Jack nodded at Alex and gave her a relaxed smile. He was the most sensitive out of all of them. When he wasn't alert, it was usually pretty safe. "I'm fine. Grant went out of his way keep Asmodeus from me and even helped when they ambushed us." He tilted his head and turned to the vampire. "By the way, how is your wound?"

Grant shrugged, he didn't seem too worried about it. "It'll heal. I just need some blood and I'll be good."

Both brothers turned to glare at him. "Hell no, you ain't hurting anybody." Dean stated with a serious tone, taking out his gun from his holster.

The vampire boy narrowed his eyes at them. "You do know people aren't the only things that have blood, right?"

That only seemed to confuse the hunters. "You can drink blood from something that isn't human?"

"Yeah, can't all vampires?" Grant knew the answer to that question, but continued to try to play dumb.

"No." Sam replied, looking to his siblings. "Not any we've encountered, at least."

WaywardSister "Yeah....long as he doesn't sparkle, I don't care what kind of vampire he is, you took him so you could use him. You didn't think to ask him first?" Alex ignored the kid and frowned a bit as she looked between her brothers. "You said....Asmodeus?" she asked and knew she seemed to know the name or heard it maybe once or twice from something or someone. She knew the name and more importantly what he was, she looked to Jack a bit sadly then looked away and took keys out from her pocket.

"So....where are we going?" she asked them.

"We?" Dean questioned.

Alex looked back to her brother. "Yeah....we. There's no way I'm missing this, look I told Cas I would be back, not when I would be back." she shrugged some and wanted to stick around and see if her suspicions were correct. She was sure they got all the princes of hell but this one was a Kentucky fried asshole and she wanted him dead.

"I want in on this if Asmodeus is around, you both need me and my blade and you know it." she told Dean and smiled some, trying to get her way and she needed this cause it wasn't so sweet and pillow talk between her and Castiel right now, she was getting kinda fed up with him and she assumed it was just that time of month, there was no way she was gonna get mad at him for nothing she just needed to get some air.
