Backstory: Octavia Paige was the daughter of the Ava Paige, one of the leaders of WCKD who cared more about finding a cure for The Flare than her own daughter. Octavia was frequently thrown on the back burner in her mother's eyes even though she tried to do her best to be useful. But when she turned 8, it was revealed during some tests that she was one of the Immunes who could be helpful the cause of the cure. Within an instant she was forced into isolation and tested on like some lab rat while now having her name now be referred to as Briar Rose. She had to become the perfect test subject or she would be discarded which made her feel absolutely worthless. Though she never showed her emotions as she trained tirelessly over the years, becoming almost perfect in a way to the point that she was helping out with the cure personally. That was until she found out the truth of how the cure would be created and she tried to escape but was unsuccessful in her attempts. She began to purposefully fail her tests and fought those with authority. In retaliation, she was swiped of her memories of WCKD and her past before they threw her into the Glade to fend for herself. Now being in the Glade, she mostly keeps to herself and rarely talks to anyone except Teresa who she sees like family.
