Sauda the Master of Three Storms

Introduction: There's only one dark elf known within the north, Zauditu. A very skilled bounty hunter who specialized in hunting down those who practice the dark arts. Her reputation for being cold has made her feared. Zauditu reputation for being a knowledge mage is perhaps even greater. The magic she's invented has been revolutionary.

PERSONALITY:
Sauda has two main personalities, and they're often opposite to each other. One is drugged and the other one is sober. Sauda is normally an extremely introverted and quiet person, though she could sometimes be loud and energetic when there are extremely specific triggers. In general, Sauda is extremely loyal and extremely selective. She enjoys low stimuli activities and would generally like to solve people's problems.

Anaesthetized- This is her most commonly seen personality since she required medicine to operate in public. Her drugged state is a very quiet, unemotional condition. Usually slow to recognize social cues and not responsive to social stimuli. In this condition, she seems scary, and often sociopathic especially when she's doing her job. Her eyes are normally blank, generally lacking personality given she doesn't share any intermit details. The intensity depends on her dosage.

Sober- Her 'true' personality. This version is generally much more reserved and extremely sensitive. She likes silence and extremely cold conditions. Normally she would be extremely sensitive and extremely artistic. But her medical condition means no one could see this side. Sometimes she could take just enough medicine to have her more emotional side in public, but heavy stimuli are often overwhelming.

MEDICAL CONDITION

Elvish Oversentitivy- A kind condition that Sauda only has. In this condition, she is sensitive to every physical stimulus. Sight, sound, touch, smell etc. This means her senses are much more powerful allowing her to have heightened awarenesses and every fast reflex. However, they're too powerful and everything is painful. She's unable to function due to everything including her clothes feeling painful. So she takes medicine to weaken her senses. The side effect is that the medicine reduces her emotional sensitivity, making it difficult to feel anything.

TALENTS AND ABILITIES:

Shooty- Perfect aim and control of her weapons. Sauda's heightened senses make her perfectly able to hit every target no matter how far or how quickly. She's extremely skilled at quick draws and sniping. Guns are her obsession and she's mastered just about every kind of firearm, including crossbows and bows and arrows. Her main weapon of choice is the thunder rifle. An enchanted gun that fires bolts of thunder for medium distances. It has a shell mode that switches to metallic bullets which can be used for many further distances.


Thunder Magic-Thunder Enchanting used to be extremely difficult and the thunder powder the guns needed was often unstable and dangerous to handle. Sauda managed to develop several new recipes to make a more stable version of thunder powder. And she innovated in thunder magic in general. That has made her classified as a mage and recognized as a top researcher by the High Elves. Several textbooks credit her for new techniques in enchantments.

Combustion/Explosive magic- Combustion magic involved creating explosives out of pure energy. Sauda learnt a technique that involve making bombs out of pure magic, and she innovated into created more complex explosives based on thunder magic. These are magical spells that she invented, and she's able to launch them at extremely far distances, at varying explosive powers. The magical spell ranges from just generating one explosive, to generating a dozen. Textbooks also credit her for this.


Backstory:
Zauditu came from the Dark South but her real parents are a complete mystery. An old human sailor found her holding on to a floating chest in the middle of the sea when she was just 7 years old. The chest contained a lot of documents about the Dark South, something that caught the attention of the high elves and other scholars. Studying the papers determined her age and her name, 'Zauditu' however the elves preferred to name her Sauda(which translates to dark-skinned). Most of the chest papers stayed under the control of wealthy elves, remaining a complete mystery.

Elves don't like dark elves. So Zauditu ended up in an orphanage because no elf adopted her. So she grew up in poverty, learning how to survive through thievery and other difficult actions. She especially liked robbing elves given that she learned to hate them for sending her off to an orphanage. When she was 9, Zauditu was adopted by human bounty hunters and became an adventurer. She was able to get better nutrition and better education after the adoption, and travelling allowed her to get some practical education.

However, when she turned 10, her hypersensitivity began to take effect. Zauditu suddenly began to feel agonizing pain everywhere and had to be taken to the nearest healer. The next several months were very difficult but eventually, some basic drugs were made specifically to help with the symptoms. The medicine allows her to function but the consequence is killing off all emotions.

When she was 15, Zauditu managed to get accepted at an elven college to learn elvish magic. And once finishing the 4-year course, she decided to follow in her adoptive parent's footsteps to become a bounty hunter. She became very famous for bounty hunting , evil mages and cult leaders. But she's best known for publishing. She invented the new enchanting techniques during her trips and returned to her former school to properly publish.

Her published works got her very popular across several kingdoms, and she's very respected by dwarves who found the combustion magic to be useful for their mining. The humans liked her thunder magic too, and so did many elves. But she's not quite accepted within high elven society. The research did make her earn quite a lot of money, especially when she patented her research. Dwarves gifted her a house in the mountains and she's used it as her main home since they seemed to welcome her more than the elves.

Her main source of income is still bounty hunting which requires travelling for several months at a time. If she ends up in a big city, a school may pay her to do a guest lecture and sometimes she'll return to the elves to publish new research. She publishes in the same elvish school she graduated from, her bank account is linked to her job there so she always returned to the elves to get her payments from them.
