Plot Idea: Lowly Knight (Romance/Fantasy)

Two major empires are situated right next to each other, and have been in friendly relations for generations. In the Emil Empire, there is a young princess who has taken the entire empire by storm. As the only daughter (or son), she had been taught from near birth how to lead, and was gifted in many regards. She was talented with instruments, art, swordsmanship, archery, and more. She was a shining star among her family line, and sure to be a great ruler. However, their long-time ally the Alpi Empire expressed the fact they no longer had the land to farm enough food for the country. The Alpi Empire had far more advanced military units, and would take the Emil land by force if needed. However, the Alpi Empire suggested an easy way to fix the problem, to have the princess and their crown prince marry and unite the empires. It would be a peaceful solution to the issue.

With no other choice, the Emil Empire agrees, and the princess prepares herself to marry the crown prince. Upon meeting the crown prince at a ball for the first time, however, she is not impressed by him. He seems like a warrior, but not the kind of man she would want to marry. She didn’t have the luxury of saying no, even if she does not like him. That night, however, the princess, as strong and as capable as she is, is too shocked by the crown prince to notice the fact her late night tea is drugged. She is kidnapped by a tiny nation that wanted to be able to gain land by marrying her to one of their royalty. By accident, however, they accidentally take a knight as well, who just happens to be her childhood friend.

A childhood friend that also happens to be in love with the princess. As children, she would often stop by the training fields before her own lessons, and he was the son of the head commander of the royal knights. Often they would talk and often spar or just play around together. She didn’t think much of him, but he was drawn in by the same charm that captivated many suitors in her youth. For her, he wanted to work hard to become a powerful knight that could ask for hand in marriage. However, he was bad at wielding a sword, bad at strategy, bad at everything he needed to be a knight. All he was good at was goofing around and making people laugh. He really loved making the princess laugh whenever he had a chance. He barely got knighted after years of trying, only to hear about her engagement. As they were still friends, the night before she was kidnapped, the knight tried to meet with her to tell her his feelings.

Instead, he was captured while trying to save her, and the pair are taken away to another land far away. When she wakes up, the princess easily escapes with her and the knight, but the pair have to get home before the empires go to war. However, on their trip, the princess starts to notice that maybe the unassuming boy from her childhood might just be the one should would truly want to spend the rest of her life with, rather than some war obsessed weird prince.
