After almost 10 days, of crying non-stop while unconscious, occasional nightmares and fever outbreaks, he finally wakes up to the even crueler real world.

Mochi is still next to him, as he literally never stepped outside that room once in all those days. He only ate and drank because Jackil and Lani brought supplies to him and he mostly slept on the floor and on the chair.
HaoLin too barely left, sleeping next to WonPil every night, but in his case, the adults had the authority to force him to go out and live.
The surgery on the smallest twin went well and she naturally survived, beyond the odds, although she might be chronically ill.

Another strange mystery is that Elton kept literally "appearing" on WonPil's chest. Eerily, nobody ever saw it happen and can tell how it happened, but every time Mochi fell asleep, he woke up to the baby being there.

When WonPil wakes up, though, Elton is in his cradle, making the usual fierce fuss for not being on WonPil. He only shut up when Mochi would be about to collapse asleep, so that he wouldn't wake him up.
He stands up from the bed and, attracted by the screams, immediately approaches the cradles with the babies. He is naturally not sure if they are all his, even.
