Scam.

It's well known that he is a little bitch, of the kind who can't even mind his own business when something triggers him the slightest.
Another known detail about him is definitely his scientific-oriented skepticism towards any form of divination and prediction. He was forced, in front of clear evidence, that the Knights of Luck definitely possess some powers in that sense and he had to shut up, but he can't keep his tongue much at bay, when it comes of others.

He was walking in the street of Shiirhuang, when he comes across a scene: an obviously ignorant peasant receiving a miraculous vial from someone whose look screamed 'SCAMMER' from a mile away. He caught a glimpse of their conversation, in which the scammer told the peasant how that elixir would keep tigers away from his farm.
Would Lani shut up and proceed his way? Of course not. He had to intromit and only ended up arguing with the peasant, too ignorant to think he could he right, and the scammer, of course, vanished from sight before he could try to convince the farmer to let him at least smell what's inside the vial.

Annoyed beyond measure, but having to go to work, he asks to the highest ranked Knight of Luck at hand to pay that person a visit. Why? Because the scammer clearly looked like a fortune-teller, covered in cheap jewels and crystals all over.

WonPil accepted to look into the matter and Lani didn't receive any news from him ever since. He tried to contact him, but nothing. He even tried to write to TiShan, but would that brat reply? Of course not.
Worried to have exposed WonPil to some terrible danger, he asks other knights to help look for him and the scammer in Shiirhuang, the next day without news.

Junn «You think the son of a market worker goes around in that kind of clothes? Look around yourself.» He doesn't even talk about commoners but the truly miserable ones. Like himself.
«He is your uncle? I would have never imagined.»
He looks back at him. «And you would be the one offering me a way to develop my gift even further? You, who are probably half my age and never touched a tarot card in your life?»
He grunts. «I really had one, till last night. Now, I'd assume, thanks to the same who sent you, I don't have it anymore. He can rejoice.»
He finishes to pack his few things and stands straight. «You must think I'm dumb or crazy, to believe a young noble would offer such things to someone like me.»

Coconut
Coconut He lowers his gaze on his clothes. "I hoped it would look average enough but you have good eye.
Not blood related. A family friend. What are you assuming?" He raises an eyebrow.
"Definitely not me. I can be considered expert only in Astronomy and Maths, but there are other teachers, books..." He shrugs. "The choice is yours.
I highly doubt unless you come from a family of serious criminals. I would know if they organized a raid somewhere. Your inner eye is not working this time."
He takes out a Shiinden badge, there is even his name. "Go on your own and see with your own eyes if you can't believe me. Not all nobles are trash nor all commoner honest."

Junn «It is not just the clothes.» But neither it is a power, just a mix of his tidiness, hygiene, throwing away a silver like it was nothing… :p
«He didn't seem like someone of your same blood rank.» Instead, surprise surprise!
«I won't follow you anywhere. I've had enough troubles just for the fun of some rich kid.» Meaning Lani. He thinks it was him to send guards after him.
It was definitely not a raid of knights, just average IGs. «It is not my inner eye not working, it's you turning my words.» He takes a step back.
He gives a glance to the badge, to which he looks like he is getting paler. He can't read, he has no idea what it is. «Keep it, I don't want it!» He throws the silver back at him and runs away.

Lani. He arrives there in that precise moment and tilts his head at Qi. «Son?»

Coconut "I know. I gave myself up, someone smart wouldn't throw away a silver for this. Not that I think you surely don't have any gift, that would have to be seen.
He is. Maybe not at the same level, as I'm half Huang and half Yung. His mother is unknown in the Empire instead.
Look. Ask around about Shiinden, you'll surely be pointed where the school is." He crosses his arms. "You go there and you can ask for me, I'll let you in and someone will deal with your paperwork.
It might be one of my powers. What exactly happened to you and your family? Who were they?"
He is baffled by what happens with Jinx. He is still stunned by it when Lani arrives. "Dad? He just ran away. I wanted to propose him to go to school and he left. How did I scare him? People always have to think ill. Pft." He crosses his arms. "If he is joining my class, ever, I'll be his nightmare." XD

LaNii He looks in the direction where Jinx disappeared into and then back at Qi. «I call it the Lani effect, maybe he sensed I was getting close. WonPil confirmed that he doesn't have real divinatory powers, he is just a scammer, as I suspected.»
He shrugs. «It is not a crime school, why would he want to come there? Maybe he has some other powers, he left quite fast. It'd have to be tested.»
He pats his shoulder. «It is due to us being so misunderstood.» Bitchness is misunderstood.
