Howler.
When a Black Hole challenges a termo-nuclear bomb for a race, one can expect that something will go dramatically wrong.
The path to the astronomy tower was relatively empty and easy, so that part went smooth and without major damages. The problem was when they entered the tower and started to run up the stairs.
Beside a few paintings that will never be the same, a broken window and a few minor hand-shaped holes here and there on the walls, the classroom of astronomy was close to demolished.
XinLan, thinking there'd be another turn of stairs, failed to stop in time and crashed into the door, breaking inside the room. The door itself got pushed off the hinges and flew at full speed against the biggest telescope, that got pushed off the window and fell down into the rocky ground, shattering in a million pieces.
Naturally it was Finch who caught them. What made it even more serious is that the access in the astronomy tower is strictly forbidden outside the class hours.
He dragged them both to the leaders of their Houses.
Professor Sprout, a bit hesitant about these foreigner students, decided to send a detailed mail to XinLan's parents, explaining the damages he caused, the risks he took and all the details. She is less used than McGonagall about all the troublemakers.
The other teacher sends an even more furious letter and despite she knows that Sprout already contacted them about XinLan, she felt the need to throw salt in the wound and mention him again too.
Lani was already bitter how not even one of their kids was in Ravenclaw, one can only imagine his face when his gaze landed on those letters.

"They should care. We are their family. You wouldn't care if we disapproved your boyfriend?" He looks at XinLan.
"What can you do with old bones? At least black holes have their purposes in the universe. What if I want to kiss a black hole?"
He shrugs. "I don't need to sleep at night. I will sleep during Divinations class and Defence against Dark Arts!"
XinLan. «It is as if you are 2 years old.»
He shakes his head. «I wouldn't care and I won't have a boyfriend ever, so it doesn't matter at all, what others would think.»
He ponders. «I could decorate my house with old bones. Black holes can't even be approached.»
He shrugs. «Your House will have 0 points before the end of the year.» The occasion Hufflepuff waited since forever, to he third instead of fourth.
"It's as if you are 2 years old!" He imitates XinLan with a silly voice.
"You'll have a girlfriend then? Pft, like WonZi...you like big apples.
It would be even an awesome decoration, I cannot deny...to decorate with a black hole, just draw a black circle!
You forget we have Mr Perfect Zhao! He'll earn a lot of points. WonZi can only earn points charming the teachers because he doesn't study." XD
«So artistic, you should go to a school of art and show them how you draw all the black holes so well.» He looks up.
«They said that points can be earned winning Quidditch matches too. That winning gives 50 points.» He and WonZi are Hufflepuff only hope.
You should go too, to show how you decorate houses. Bones will be your menù's theme? You damned genious!
