backstory ✝

(0-11) Wes always felt indifferent towards his family. Labeled early on the stereotypical 'rich kid', said affluence was due to his family's corrupt nature, and involvements in illegal drug fares, hiding money with property and cars. His parents marriage was merely a legal document, his younger sister was always gone, and his brother was an addict. He found himself thinking he'd break away from this cycle, and thus he became the golden child of the family- he was enrolled in the finest private school in upstate New York, excelled in rugby of all sports, and made a name for himself among his teachers, finding refuge in scholarly life. He tried his best to not live at home.

(12--) At twelve, he came to fully grasp the messiness of his home. His brother had passed from an overdose, and it was practically swept under the rug by his parents. He finally understood how they wanted the world to work. If you were a golden child, people would care, and if you went on ten-day drug benders, you were just another death in a statistic. He couldn't believe they'd treat his death so loosely, and it caused a divide between his family. He desperately tried to separate himself from that, and after four years of AP classes, womanizing and underage drinking, he graduated and got into NYU, largely due to his privileged background- one he couldn't ignore, and was pretty ashamed to have knowing what it entailed.
