With the way I have designed my character's backstory, it allows for many different themes we could play with, ranging from fluffy, light hearted adventure, to dark and serious journey with twists and turns. I love dabbling in dark and mature writing and not afraid of serious subject matters (With limitations and session 0 discussions so we know where boundaries are) but if you are up for comical fun time then I don't have a problem with that either.

We could start with Alkaid meeting your character while on her journey to find and free her mother and slowly get to know each other whilst on the journey.

Alternatively, we could explore Alkaid journey to escape the Underdark, her meeting your character while in the midst of her escape. From there she'll befriend your character and after escaping may ask your character whether they can help her find her mother.

That or your character gets captured and ends up in the same place as her where they could forge an alliance to escape their predicament.
