2. RULES

Well hello there fellow writer, I see you've happened upon my rules page. These are the definitive rules to my existence in the realm of roleplay. I hope you adhere to these and respect them.

1. Please be 21+ and have your character be 21+. I am over 21 myself and don't feel comfortable writing with those younger than that age.

2. Novel to Novella writing only. I have been a fiction and prose writer for over a decade of my life. I prefer and admire detailed responses and when people take time formulating a response.

3. I am a busy individual so please allow room for response time. I am currently obtaining a degree outside of roleplay so my response time will be 1-3 days if I am busy. If I go beyond 3 days feel free to reach out to me OOC.

4. No god modding. I've been writing this on my rules page since I started here. God modding takes the fun out of writing with others and doesn't leave adequate room to have characters develop bonds and further the story.

5. I deal with mature themes in my writing but will provide content warnings and discussions prior to starting our plot to make sure both parties involved are comfortable.

I don't have many rules, but I have important ones. Please make sure to follow these and I guarantee we will have a wonderful time getting to know each other's characters and exploring the worlds we create.

Happy writing! -Delphi/D.

1. INTRODUCTION

It had been a pleasant afternoon at the Dupont family home for Delphine hadn’t interacted with a single family member all day. She had been sitting in a chartreuse chaise lounge in the living room, reading some mid century science fiction novel her father had raved about at some point. The brunette had turned her phone on do not disturb, an extra reminder to her agent not to call her or text her under any circumstances. With the holidays just around the corner, Delph made her yearly trip to her family’s estate in Marseille. Though she dreaded the energy that came along with the holiday season, she could finally afford a break from back to back projects over the last 18 months.

Delphine heard a slamming sound against the floor in the adjacent study and turned her head. The slamming noise stopped and she got right back to reading her book. Minutes passed before the slamming sound was heard again, this time it echoed through most of the first floor of the house. What on earth? Delphine leaned over as far as she could to try and peak into the study, making brief eye contact with her mother before darting back. F***. She heard her mom shuffle around before clearing her throat.

“Delly Darling, do you mind coming in here for just a moment?” Delphine cringed at the nickname. She had always cringed at it since she was a young girl. Her mother only used nicknames to demean others, a secret she let Delphine in on by the time she had turned twelve. Delphine begrudgingly tossed her book to the side and picked herself up off the chaise lounge. Her mother was in the study, fervently picking apart the family photo albums with tear stained cheeks.

“Mom.” There was no response. “Mother.” Nothing. “Cherise Dupont.” Her mother turned around, placing a photo album titled 1999-2000 on her lap. She wiped away the remaining tears close to the ducts, looking up at her daughter with melancholic eyes. Her mother always got into a frenzy like this close to the holidays, as if the world was caving in on her and she was to die tomorrow. These albums somehow served as fragmented evidence of being a good mother. She wasn’t. Delphine reached down and pulled the photo album from her mother’s hands. “You do this to yourself every year, I’m gonna start considering them to be relapses.” Delph mumbled as she looked at the photos below. Her heart sank in her chest as she realized what it was, the first audition her parents had ever taken her to. Delphine’s mother proudly stood three quarters in front of her, her father awkwardly off to the side with the forced smile he would do when any member of Cherise’s family would make a tasteless joke. This photo was the perfect display of their family unit, lies stacked on top of one another. Delphine set the photo album on the counter, sighed quietly, and left the study without saying a word. Whatever her mom wanted help with, she knew the conversation would just end in more tears. But it would be my tears.

Delphine Dupont is a twenty-eight year old actress and heiress stepping away from the shining spotlight to pursue her filmmaking dreams. Having already released her debut film, A Quiet Reason To Believe, she has found passion in what goes into creating an entire project from start to finish.
