Plot freely inspired to the song "Hijo de la Luna", by Mecano. And with some sprinkles from "The Mandalorian".

Once upon a time, a young woman fell in love with the Wandering King, the infamous general of a mercenary army travelling through the kingdom and selling their services to the highest bidder.
Knowing she would never be able to catch his attention, she prayed to the Moon Goddess her town worshipped for a chance to make him fall in love with her.
The Moon Goddess replied to her: she would have her man, but only if she promised she would consacrate her firstborn to her.
The maiden agreed to the oath and so the Goddess used her powers to make love bloom between the King and the young woman: the two eloped and then left the town with the entire army.

Time passed and the young wife gave birth to an healthy baby boy. Though, there was something strange about him: the boy had hair and skin as white as the moon and silvery grey eyes.
Seeing how the child inherited nothing of his cinnamon skin or the mother's darker complexion, the Wandering King immediately thought the kid not to be his.
The shock of the perceived betrayal broke the love spell the Moon placed on him and the King stabbed his wife to death with no second thought.
His rage still not abated, he moved to grab the kid with the intention of abandoning him, when his wizard counselor, who helped the mother give birth, stopped him: he felt an incredible magic coming from the baby and wanted to study him.

Through divination, he found out the truth: the baby's mother sworn him to the Moon Goddess and that granted the kid a powerful latent magical power.
The Wandering King decided then to keep the baby and raise him to be his future weapon, so that one day his army could conquer the kingdom it once worked for.

Knowing of the cruel destiny waiting for the baby, the wizard and his apprentice, a faun named Silayl (my OC), decided to escape and bring him to the Temple of the Moon Goddess, hidden away between the mountains. There, he would be safe, taught by the Temple's clerics and warded by the Moon's direct protection.
Sadly, the wizard sacrificed himself to allow his apprentice and the baby to run away after the "kidnapping" got found out.

Now, Silayl is on the run from the Wandering King and tasked with protecting the baby and find the Temple of the Moon Goddess, but it may be too hard of a journey to make on his own.

A few notes:
- fantasy races are allowed (Silayl is a faun, after all);
- the main plot is to bring the Moon Baby to the Temple, further details and subplots can be freely added after discussing them;
- I like romances, but only when they develop naturally, so, please, don't try to push for it

Powers and abilities: Harper has an IQ of 180 and is a very capable engineer and hacker, having modified her own prothesis to be more functional and incorporating a taser in it (for protection); also learned capoeira after her accident as a form of physical therapy and for self-defense

Personality: to say it shortly, Harper is intense: exhuberant and full of life, she tries to cherish every day and live a full life; impulsive and flirty, she isn't scared ro go after what she wants and is really protective of people she loves

Bio: Harper's life had been relatively normal until she turned 10: at that point her dad, a brilliant surgeon, received a proposal for a big position in Australia. His decision to pursue his career signaled the ending of his marriage with Harper's mother, Rosalyn, who didn't want to leave New York and, especially, didn't want to take their daughter away from the rest of her family and friends. Harper, still wanting to have a relationship with her father, tried as much as possible to keep in contact with him, but ultimately stopped after her accident, since her father never came back to America to see her.
Deciding to focus on herself, her mother and the people really there for her, Harper started learning capoeira as a form of physical therapy, self defense and mental balance and using her ability as a technician to modify her own prothesis and then build others for people like her.
When she was 18, she found Gwen, who had just crash-landed near the Brooklyn bridge, and took her in and is still hiding and taking care of her with her mother's help, while looking for a way to ger her back home.

Race: Entherian, an alien race of empaths; they look like humanoids with skin coloration varying from white to grey, with patterns of azure to blue spots going from the back of the neck to the tip of a short, lizard-like tail; they're bald, but have two antennae on top of the head, usually curled up, but reaching 3 feet in lenght when uncurled; they have no sexual dimorphism, so they have no concept of gender

Personality: kind, compassionate and curious, Gwen likes the company of people, though her being an empath makes her easily overwhelmed in the presence of big crowds and shy when confronting exhuberant characters; having the freedom on Earth to express her own emotions makes so that she doesn't always act with the tact she should have, causing her to be bluntly honest and then go back in her shell due to shame

Bio: due to being a race of empaths, Entherians are highly popular in their star system due to being peaceful, wise and compassionate, but also caused their government to institute a rigid system of regulations on the population: since a very young age Entherians are encouraged, if not outright forced, to reject strong emotions in favour of a peaceful disposition and a detached approach to external emotions.
Being born with a particularly strenghtened ability to understand other's emotions and project her own, Gwenhwyfar has been trained to use her power to calm down people around her, to preserve peace and quietness, and to avoid attachments that could cause her emotional strain.
That is until, while traveling to another system with her mentors to mediate during peace talks between two planets at war, her ship got attacked by Entherians rebels and her escape pod got damaged, sending her out in the deep of space until she landed on Earth.
Here, she got found and rescued by Harper Rhodes and is now living hidden in the house she shares with her mother Rosalyn, in New York, while her pod got found and taken away by FBI.
