Hal is the second son of a mafia family, and his older brother is the boss. Their family is wealthy and they are known for their huge real estate company even though the other half of their money and most of their power comes from the mob world.
Their father used to be a jerk and he never cared for the second son, so when his father died and his brother became the new boss his brother took him under his wing and made sure he would have a better life away from the mob. He even made him go to college and now he is studying engineering because his biggest and only hobby so far is cars. He can be a real hothead, so no matter how hard his brother tries to keep him away from the mafia he always ends up getting himself into trouble with it.

He enjoys life as a creation, not as a creator and he wants to experience everything nice earth can offer. He is not the god of life to control it, he is the god of life because he is full of it. His relationship with other gods and goddesses in heaven isn't really good and he can travel between universes. So he uses those excuses to escape the life of a god.
