Tailor and Handle Barrze

The Toymaker Family was standard and small. A tinkerer father and a business woman mother. Together they went quite far and created quite the plethora of inventions and businesses. You would think they were merchant family, but that is where you would be wrong. Though their method of cash acquisition was business and toys/invention, their focus in life was magic. The Toymaker Family had quite the interesting past.

(for Info one Tailor and Handle Skip ahead to the word, SODA)

John Toymaker was originally from a family of assassins. Trained to kill using anything available, growing up he really enjoyed getting creative with his methods of execution, so much so that his wife believes his former career as an assassin is the reason he can so effortlessly come up with new inventions and toys for the company. John didn’t care much for magic, or love, that is of course he met the woman known as Patricia Toymaker. She hails from a Noble Family and that meant they had enemies, and that they had money. It wasn’t long before one of Johns clients decided that Patricia would make a good hostage and ordered him to capture her. That’s where their life took the craziest and most unexpected turn. The assassin John ended up being Patricia’s toy! Little would he expect her to be a talented mage, and a extremely powerful one at that. Lucky for him she thought he was cute and decided she would make him hers. Can you guess who wears the pants in the family?

After being captured, John spent several days and nights trying to escape but he wasn’t getting anywhere. He considered his options however. Patricia offered him a good deal as her personal assassin, after a while he caved in and agreed. He worked on behalf of her family for a while but the assassins guild he used to be a part of didn’t like that, he knew too much about them. In addition, Patricias family didn’t like John one bit. He didn’t know it at the time but he was developing feelings for Patty, maybe he was a bit of a masochist and didn’t realize it. Too make a long story short, assassins try and kill John, and Patricia’s Family insists she sends him away. But she actually really liked him, more than she wanted to admit. As far as everyone else knew, she was just too stubborn to let go of her favorite toy, but she had feelings for John as well.

They manage to escape their country and move far far away. They eventually admitted their love for each other, but gosh was it awkward. They didn’t want to live their life wandering and fighting all the time like characters in some kind of fantasy novel! So they quickly settled down and took advantage of the large stack of gems and gold Patty snuck along with her. They started selling wood trinkets that John carved out when he was bored, and he started making up toys for children. It was around the time they started to be known as toy vendors that they decided to take that on as their family name. Patty really wanted John to get into magic and eventually she started teaching him how to use it, he would practice magic all the time with her. He really didn’t think he would like it so much but he REALLY got into it! More than Patricia!

They agreed that if they were to pass down a legacy they would want it to be a merchants one, they loved their family name and company. A short year did John and Patricia have a daughter together.

SODA

They named their daughter Tailor. They wanted a name that would remind them of business and merchants or services. Magic and assassination was in their blood, but business and Toys became the knot of the family. They raised Tailor to be cunning and creative, and all about business and living a fulfilling safe life. John would teach her some self defense and Patricia would teach her magic. Tailor was shown three things she could focus on in life. Combat, business, and magic!

Her favorite was magic! She didn’t want to become some kind of gladiator or assassin, she wasn’t a fan of getting her hands dirty. But a merchants life sounded wayyyy too boring for her tastes. She loved the idea of traveling the world and using magic to crush monsters and gain fame. That’s the key word too. Fame. Tailor has a certain addiction to attention, and though she isn’t particularly a trouble-maker there was almost nothing she wouldn’t do to get her name up in lights and impress others. This came about as a result of her mother only showing her magic tricks whenever she would do something really impressive. Time goes on and on, and Tailor starts reaching an age where she gets more rambunctious and demanding.

Her parents started pushing the idea of being a merchant onto her and This was when she started to realize she really didn’t like the idea. She loved toys, and stuff sure, but the stories her father would tell her of the different places in the world they had been too really excited her. She was still only 10, but she made a declaration to her mother and father, that she wanted to be a mage!

She takes after her mother.

Her parents weren’t against the idea, but her father, John had a certain plan that might change her mind. His idea was, give her what she wants, give her so much of it, that she’ll be sick of it and not want it anymore! Her mother, Patricia was keen on the idea and they both decided that is what they would do.

It was at this critical point that two very important things were introduced to tailor. Summoning magic, and Soda! Her mom would have her practice magic, day in and day out without any kind of break, and her father would give her soda as a reward for surviving the day. At time they felt they might be going overboard but they saw that their daughter was loving it! Loving it quite a lot!

After a whole year of this nonsense! They decided that their daughter should be free to do as they pleased. Her father fessed up on her eleventh birthday and told her the truth. She wasn’t upset or anything, all she requested was that her intensive training were to continue and that her supply of soda would double! She developed...quite the addiction.

Her mother introduced magical specialties to her. Her father was an assassin and his magic specialty was illusion, he enjoyed putting on shows for the kids. Her mother was merchant but a dark magic specialist through and through, specializing in arcane spells and the like. When confronted with what kind of magic she wanted, Tailor just said she wanted something that could help her defeat lots of big monsters in the world!

Her Mother suggested something mighty like being a geomancer and crumbling the earth! Her father tried being a bit cheeky and suggested magic that would help with stealth like mayyyybe darkness or illusion?

Tailor made something clear yet again! She wasn’t very fond of people. She liked the attention from strangers! But NOT the strangers themselves. Some people would warm up to her Sure, but she never really had any friends aside from her mom and dad. So for her magic, she said she wanted to summon her own friends.

As weird as that sounds...

So her mom taught her all about summoning and the variety of monsters and creatures and things she could bend to her will, but her again, little tailor wasn’t having it!

“I don’t want a bunch of useless dolls that don’t know my name or care for me only because I create them! I want a really friend! Even if only just one!”

It was around then that her mother introduced her to the concept of Familiars.

Her father was starting to think maybe they spoiled their little tsundere too much, but he loved her too much to care.

Finally! After a few months, she had spawned her very own familiar!

It was a....soda...bottle....

Her mother and father were...confused, to say the least.

But little Tailor was OVER JOYED! She cuddled it and squeezed it and gave him a name instantly! Handle, handle Barrze! When they asked her why she just said she liked the name.

The magical connection between her and her tiny soda bottle friend started having weird effects on tailor. They shared “flavors”

The way Tailor would summon handle, was by drinking up a glass bottle of soda, then she would toss it out, and Taa-daa! It would fill up again but this time it was alive! The little living soda bottle was like a knight. It had cracks on it’s left and right side that soda would sleep out from, To form hands made of soda, the left hand usually carrying a second soda cap to use as a shield, and the right hand, forming a soda sword..or any other weapon really. But a smol 6 inch soda bottle wasn’t really menacing to anyone, Tailor thought it was awesome though.

They shared a bond a strong one in just their two months together! Tailor would sprint and run around fields, Handle bouncing around and playing with her. Occasionally tiny monsters in the field would attack her but handle her little knight would always protect her! And...he even started to grow!

This is where they really became in sync. Depending on the flavor, which was usually cherry (Tailors favorite) her hair and eye color would change to match the flavor that handle was. Also, he reached his max height of seven feet after seven months, go figure.

So the two of them formed a great relationship together. Tailor was quite the varied girl, but it was almost her twelfth birthday soon, two years past the original date she wanted to leave at!

“Mother! Father! For my twelfth birthday! I want to leave this home! I want to travel the world! Me and handle are ready for it. I want to become famous and hear the bards sing my name!”

She was but a girl, a very small girl. But...she was raised by a genius businesswoman who taught her the way of the world, a master assassin that taught her how to defend herself, and spent insane amounts of dedicated time learning magic, and training with both of her parents, in order to become the talented mini mage she was now! And to top it all off her best friend and magical companion would always be at her side to protect her too!

She was ready for it! She had the skills of a traveler who was in their twenties at the ripe age of twelve. Her parents had no objection. They were proud of their little prodigy. And she was so happy to have them. She swore one day they would see her again, and be even more proud!

She sets off, taking an umbrella, a change of clothes, a few simple toys, adventurering tools like rope, and a dagger, and most importantly several bottles of soda!

Side notes on how Handle works:

To summon handle a bottle of soda (or anything carbonated) must be drank:
The flavor will determine the color.

Handle cannot be de-summoned: however every attack he does empties out the bottle a bit, (he’s seven feet and Tailor is four feet, but the bottles she drinks will directly be proportional to him. She can fill him up as he fights by drinking from other soda bottles) he will also be de-summoned if something shatters him! And Tailors body will usually give out if that happens as well. She can always re-summon him with another bottle if she manages to stay conscious.

Carbonation is powerful: if she let’s her soda bottles lose their fizz, the summon will be really weak, even her body will be weaker, but the fizzier the soda the stronger the effects! In in her best interest to drink often, and re-supply often too!

Applications: Handle can make the soda in his body and the soda coming out of his side cracks take any shape and consistency, effectively making weapons of soda, or attack with soda arms etc. he also has a magical bottle cap shield he can make dissapears at will, and a second bottle cap on his head he can launch like a cannon, once per bottle. Because any bottle tailor chooses to magically sync to handle becomes proportional to him she can do some crazy attacks when they work together. She can shake a soda bottle then pop it open and turn handle into a rocket! She Even uses him to travel. She can shatter a bottle and make him explode to use him as a huge weapon of destruction! They can make bubbles of soda to fly around in, or use small bubbles as mobile cameras for handle to look through, or use fizzy soda bubbles as acid bombs! Capture opponent in sticky soda sludge, there's quite a lot they can do when they work together. The sky’s the limit.

Side notes on Tailor: (The Brief Bio)

Name: Tailor Toymaker

Likes: Soda, Attention, Adventure

Personality: If you plan on knowing her for more than just a day then she can be a bit Prickly at first but sweet if you give it time, she likes to be on top, she’s very excitable and full of energy

Powers and abilities: she’s a summoner relying on Handle to do most of the fighting and she does the talking, she’s Charismatic, but also knows how to use a dagger as well as a few simple spells. She can demoralize enemies with magical slander, and passively uses colorful spells to give herself cute effects (like a twinkle when she smiles, and other cartoon/anime effects depending on her mood). She’s got a sharp wit, and is excellent with teamwork.

Journey: She wants fame so she travels doing good deeds in hopes of becoming something of a folk hero! She makes great first impressions with her quirky attitude and cute spells, but She's a little rascal, her playful nature can even come off as malicious if you get on her bad side but she's a charmer, nobody but her parents even know her real age.
