Valentine is the god of mild comfort, a job that, while basically meaning nothing, is very important to them. However, they change into an alternate persona, Val, god of pain, whenever they fall asleep, and switch back and forth between two very different personalities.
As to not let the other side show, Val and Valentine do not get a lot of sleep.
