The Stranger (prompt)
It was cold. Moisture dripped from the stone above. Drops smacking against the floor. Yet despite the cold, there was crackling. That of a fire. Yet despite the flame it remained cold, as though the fire weren't truly there. Behind the fire was a hooded man, in red, velvet robes, with a staff resting against his lap. His hands were over the fire, they almost had a golden colour to them.
"Oh my, I'm being a bit of a hog now, aren't I?" The man said, his voice soft.
Then the cave became warmer, almost moments after he spoke. "You took quite the tumble." He stated, lowering his head ever so slightly.
"To answer the questions you may have..."
"No. Like you, I have no idea whom you may be. Perhaps you were a merchant, an adventurer. Perhaps even a hero. I know not."
"Nor do I know how long you've been here for. You see, this cave, it possesses fascinating magical properties. I've been here for days, yet I've not felt hunger, thirst. Just tired."
"However, I do know this. Whatever the world was before you wound up here. It is much different now. A Dark age one could say."
The man stood, using his staff for support. "I suppose it was quite rude of me to make myself at home. My apologies, I shall leave."
His appearance was much easier to make out. His skin was indeed somewhat golden. But not to the degree of his eyes, they're oddly shaped pupils to be specific.
"I bid thee well, stranger." The man said. His back turned to you, and he took several steps before coughing, violently. When the fit ended he wiped his lips with a cloth. For the few seconds it was in sight the colour red was visible on it. Then he began to walk, toward what was presumably the entrance.
