Needing a mother's love- short drabble

As a little girl, she grew up like any normal family would, and as normal as a family of supernatural beings could be. Now as a teenager, her mother was never home. Lizzie knew she could be a lot to handle. She was part of a coven that was ruthless at times, the Gemini Coven. The coven loved to set up twins to do a merge to see who would rule the coven. She hated how people ruled in that coven, even though she and her sister were the last remaining members of the coven while her uncle was in the prison world paying for his crimes. Her mother, who was never around much, it left a hole in Lizzie's heart. No one understood girl stuff like her mother, especially when she needed someone to talk to about boys or staying in control of her own mental state.

Lizzie had started to feel as if her mother thought she was too much too handle or that her mother just simply didn't love her or her sister anymore. Sure, Lizzie can be selfish, self-absorbed, attention seeking, etc, but she had a heart. Lizzie knew she didn't always treat everyone with respect, but as Penelope once said, "You're a black hole.." It broke her. Without Caroline around, she had no one to really confide in. She had become self aware lately that not everyone wanted to know nor did they really care about what she was going through, except her closest friends. Did everyone see her as a horrible person? Did everyone feel that she was someone who had no heart?

Lately, she hadn't wanted to bother anyone with how she was feeling. The two people she wanted to confide in was Kaleb, and the other was her mother, but her mother was in Europe. Why did her mom want to stay away for so long? Lizzie was needing her mother's love, yet it almost seemed as though her mother could care less. Lizzie was always afraid to call her mother, in fear her mother didn't want her anymore. Her father was left to raise her and Josie alone. What was she supposed to think when her mother left. There were so many things going on in her life, fighting monsters while also having to deal with her unstable mental state. There was no doubt that Lizzie had so many questions, mainly towards her mother, and Lizzie was starting to resent her mother for leaving.

Lizzie never really knew why her mother left, and she didn't want to pressure her father into telling her if he knew. She figured he would let her know when he was ready. But not knowing was what hurt the most. Lizzie wasn't happy. She wanted her family back, her mother back, but deep down, she knew that if she asked her mom to come back, her mother would've just said, "Not yet." When Lizzie was in this kind of mental state, it was far better for her to stay away from a group of people if she had a meltdown and everyone knew that she had plenty of those over the years.

Daughter and Adoptive Father Reunite

When Malia was young, it was a full moon and she didn't know who her birth parents were. In all honesty, she grew up with the Tate's and they treated her as if she were their own daughter. On this full moon, her anger and aggression was intensified and she had a fight with her adoptive mother and sister. As they were riding along a road, she noticed a woman standing in front of them, firing at them. The stress from that and the fact that her adoptive mother swerved the wheel toward the animal preserve nearby, hitting a tree in the process, it caused her to transform into a werecoyote. She had no idea how to control her powers and her aggression was so out of control she unintentionally killed her adoptive mother and sister. Afterwards, she felt completely guilty. She killed two of the three people that meant the most to her. Her guilt was so great that she spent the next eight years as a wolf. One might say, this would be because she didn't know how to transform back into a human yet. But really is a mix of that and the guilt she felt.

After being a wolf for eight years, Scott, who is a true alpha, he was the one who managed to help her transform back into a human for the first time in years. Sometime after that, she met Chris and Scott's other friends. In all honesty, she had a crush on Chris the moment she laid eyes on him. Her adoptive father was so relieved to know Malia was still alive, but he didn't know the full truth of what happened that one night during the full moon. Sure he helped her try to adjust to human life again, but she was always worried he might never forgive her if her knew the full truth. One day, she was hanging with Chris. Her love for him, had only grown. Chris was always the one she went to for advice and support. She considered Chris to be a wise, strong, brave, kind and loyal guy who was also incredibly handsome.

Sure, Malia saw her new friends as those who only wanted the best for her, but she really only found comfort in Chris and the fact that she was no longer alone. Chris was her emotional support along with her moral support. When she had something on her mind, he gave her advice. Lately, she thought of her late adoptive mother and sister, and the guilt she felt for their deaths. Chris was the one that told her the truth of that night, that it was her birth mother who wanted to kill her that night. It was all coming together as Malia saw a woman firing gun shots at the car she and her family were in. It was because of her birth mother that Malia fully transformed that night where she unintentionally killed Evelyn and Kylie.

She hated her birth mother for this. Now that she had been readjusted to human life, and is in control somewhat of her powers, she is ready to do just about anything to find peace about that night. She wanted her father to know the whole truth, even if it meant he might never forgive her, at least he would know what actually transpired on that night. The day she was at Chris's house, she mentioned her guilt. She wanted to move on from the pain and wanted a better relationship with her adoptive father, one where she didn't have to hide who she really is from him. Later that night, she and Chris went over to the Tate Ranch and spoke to her adoptive father, Henry. Malia knew it would be a little difficult for him to hear.

"Dad, you don't know the full truth of what happened that night several years ago. I know what you're going to say, that you don't want to talk about it, so just listen to what I have to say." Malia said. Her eyes flooded with tears thinking back on that night. "I had a fight with mom and Kylie that night. It was a full moon. I know you probably think of me as just a human, but I'm not. I was born to two phsycopath wolves. My birth mother is a werecoyote and known as the Desert Wolf and that night, she found me and tried to kill me. Mom swerved the car and hit a tree. The stress of almost being killed by my birth mom and the crash itself, i fully transformed. I had no idea how to control my powers, my aggression was out of control. I unintentionally killed them as i was in an unstable state. I'm so sorry, dad." She cried while telling him the whole story. "I spent the next eight years as a wolf out of guilt. I hated myself and blamed myself for what I had done. I don't want to be a killer like my birth mom and dad. I want to make you proud dad, i want to be someone you can still love."

By this time, Malia was full on crying. She didn't know if her adoptive father could ever love her like he did before. She was afraid he would reject her after hearing what she had to say. But he just wrapped his arms around her in comfort. Malia cried into her adoptive father's shirt. The words he said next, made her feel relieved. He had forgiven her and told her that he would love her no matter what. Without Chris standing there, and going there with her, she probably would have chickened out. Now, she and her adoptive father could have a better relationship, one of trust and instead of hiding who she really was like she had done for the past eight years. She had only just begun to understand her supernatural heritage and the fact that her adoptive father accepted her and loved her for her, made it even easier for her to finally forgive herself for what happened.

After Malia told her adoptive father what happened, she invited him over to Chris's house for dinner. She even thanked her father for always loving her as if she were his own daughter and she thanked Chris for coming with her. It helped her feel a little less scared. She finally has what she wants: a good relationship with her father, without any secrets between them, she has Chris who she's in love with. It was an amazing night, not too mention she had kissed Chris before seeing her adoptive father. She felt as if a big weight was lifted off her shoulders and that she could finally work on forgiving herself. She wanted to make her adoptive father proud by becoming a protector of this town and keeping people safe using her abilities for good and to help others.
