Personality: Asa is initially a quiet and unsociable girl. She dislikes her classmates, frequently wishing they would drop dead and spurning any offers of friendship. She has a very negative outlook on the world, other humans and devils and tends to assume the worst of others. She is however very fond of cats and would rather kill a human than one. Asa later admits that her mean-spirited altitude towards her peers was a result of jealousy. She also suffers from low self-esteem, considers herself a clumsy individual. Despite this Asa can be falsely self-assured and overconfident and extremely socially inept.
Mitaka's fairly altruistic, putting herself in harm's way to save others even when she is afraid. Asa would be willing to endure bad situations if only she were to suffer, but refuses to drag others with her. Asa doesn't cope well with failure or when things don't go her way. Because of past experiences she is extremely afraid of making mistakes. Once she does make a mistake she usually gets very angry blaming everyone around her except herself. Though after calming down she'll break down in self-deprecating rants. She seeks validation from others often.
She has trust issues yet is afraid of loneliness but is also afraid of trying to approach someone as she believes she'll mess up and end up lonely again. This puts her in a cognitive dissonance as she puts it where she's afraid of both solitude and companionship.
Yoru is first shown to be very confident and prideful, treating her opponents as mere warm-ups.. This might be a sign of her over-confidence. However she is aware of her limitations and will back down from a fight if she believes the odds are against her. Yoru holds little sentimental value or attachments to humans, and is mostly uncaring of Asa's feelings. Yoru possessed Asa's body after her death, reviving Asa in the process.
Yoru is flawed, immature and naïve. She is prone to losing her temper, and becomes angry and embaressed often. She throws tantrums by punching and screaming into the pillows on Asa's bed. She is very insecure and gets royally offended whenever her strength or intellect is questioned.
She does not have a good understanding of human society or relationships and takes things at face value, is easy to provoke and often threatens Asa with death. Though over time she grows closer to her and seems to understand and adapt to human society more, abeit she's still quite inept and will often unintentionally worsen her relationship with Asa because of that. Despite her apparent social-ineptitude she is very cunning in dangerous situations such as when fighting devils and is easily able to keep a cool head unlike Asa. She is also able and willing to manipulate Asa to aid her in her goals.

He considers himself to be a devil first and an angel second, stating that he believes humans ought to die in pain. However, he is later seen apologizing to and comforting certain humans in their deaths, suggesting some form of affection towards humans, which he suggests is a result of being part-Angel.
He dislikes being ordered around and seems to have an aversion to combat, preferring to move an unconscious enemy outside than carry on fighting. His extreme laziness holds him back from being a strong fighter and he often refuses to work, even claiming to prefer dying to working. When pressed to fight, he shows some reluctance at having to use his abilities and apologizes to the people whose life span he has stolen when he uses their life span to create weapons.
As a result of his power, the Angel Devil is socially withdrawn and usually is seen isolated from the rest of his fellow devil hunters.
He is partial to soft-serve ice cream, eating three cones in one sitting and requesting another, but has shown a willingness to eat anything including zombie flesh and the corpse of a fellow devil.

Denji
"The ladies love me! They really love me!"
Name: Denji
Alias: Chainsaw Man

Species: Human-Devil hybrid, Chainsaw Devil
Sexuality: Bisexual - very heavy female lean
Abilities: When Denji pulls the ripcord on her chest, she sprouts chainsaws from her arms and her head changes to something resembling a chainsaw with sharp teeth and a long, reptile like tongue. From the moment she pulls the cord, Denji begins to loose blood. Drinking blood of devils as she fights allows her to go for longer, but once she's lost too much blood, she can fall unconscious or worse.
History: Denji lived alone with her father, who owed significant amounts of money to the yakuza. After a while of living in this extreme poverty, her father could no longer take it and comitted suicide. Even though she was still a child, the yakuza turned to her to pay back the exorbitant amounts of money. While she was certain she would be killed immediately, she encountered someone who would change her forever. She met a devil - an orange dog with a chainsaw sprouting from his face, a handle on his back, and a ripcord-like tail. Denji was fine with letting the devil kill her, but to her surprise, the devil collapsed. It was severely injured. She offered it her arm, knowing human blood could heal devils. That action led to a contract between the pair, where they would help each other survive.
Denji was able to make her first payment to the yakuza by using the devil, Pochita, as a weapon to slay a minor devil. She grew older, struggling to get by between contracted devil hunts, odd jobs, and cutting down trees - even selling her eye and one of her kidneys when desperate enough. Through this time Pochita was her constant companion, and the two became quite close. Every meal was a blessing and no matter how little she had, she always shared with Pochita.
One day, the yakuza told her they had a special job. Denji was lured to a warehouse, where the zombie devil made itself known. It had told the yakuza to bring Denji to it to kill as it hated devil hunters. Ambushed and outnumbered by the devil and its zombie minions, Denji soon fell. She died in that warehouse, chopped to bits and thrown into a dumpster with an injured Pochita.
Devils have the ability to take over human bodies and become fiends. Denji knew this and promised Pochita that when she died, Pochita should take over her body. That way Pochita could live out the rest of his life happily, even if Denji wasn't there to see it. Pochita, remembering this promise, began to merge with Denji. However, he did something different. He gave his body up so that Denji may live, literally becoming her heart.
When Denji awoke, fully healthy with her eye and kidney regrown, Pochita was gone. All that remained was a ripcord on her chest. Seeing that the yakuza members has been turned to zombies as well, Denji pulled the ripcord and began to fight. The slaughter lasted until morning, where Denji was found exhausted and covered in blood. The woman who found her, Makima, invited her to become a devil hunter or else she would be killed. Denji, on the verge of unconsciousness, agreed to become an offical devil hunter.
Now, Denji works to hunt devils with her teammates Aki and Power while swearing loyalty to Makima.
Personality: Denji is both brash and naïve as a result of being unable to have a formal education and socialize due to living in severe poverty. Her personality comes off as rude and harsh in an almost childish way. However, she has a good sense of empathy towards other people, willing to save those in danger as much as she could, showing she is a kind-hearted person despite her shortcomings. While Denji doesn't necessarily possess the highest intelligence, she is capable of clever ideas to take down devils.
Denji also harbors a fear that her seeming lack of empathy and attachment after her transformation is a sign that she is losing her sense of humanity.
While transformed into her hybrid form, Denji becomes extremely ruthless, aggressive, bloodthirsty and sadistic, releasing her most deranged side while facing other devils, to the point of enjoying killing them. She also displays a twisted and sarcastic sense of humor.
Denji is emotionally damaged, and desperate to love and be loved by someone.
Fun facts:
- Denji once agreed to eat a cigarette for 100 yen (around 0.74 usd). She spat it out once she got her money and the man had left.
- Denji is not picky about food at all, eating whatever she's given. She also happily eats with her hands if no utensils are availble no matter how messy.
- Despite being a woman, she prefers to be known as Chainsaw Man. In her words, all the other name ideas sounded stupid.
- Most of the time, she refuses to take orders from men even if they're her superiors as she "only takes orders from ladies".
- Upon meeting Aki, both she and Power refused to take orders from him or respect him at all. He bribed both of them with a piece of gum and they immediately behaved.
- She wants to have some form of education at some point.
