❝ the name miranda was derived from Latin mirandus meaning "admirable, wonderful". shakespeare created the name for the heroine in his play, The Tempest, about a father and daughter stranded on an island. there's no real significance when it comes to her name, it was just something her parents decided that suited their youngest child. as for her middle name, Lynn, it has been passed down for generations. all of the women on her mother's side has the same middle name and it's expected for miranda to continue the tradition with the children of her own. bardot comes her father's side of the family as it has french origin. her father was born and raised in paris, France before moving to the states to further his career. miranda loves her last name most of all, she feels as if it blends perfectly and sounds very elegant.

❝ lynn - miranda went through a short period of not liking her first name. she felt as if it was rather boring and lacked originality so for a while she introduced herself to others by using her middle name. now that she's grown older, she couldn't care less if people used her first or middle name when addressing her.

❝ miranda has never been a fan of using labels for herself so it took a few years to pass before she openly came out as bisexual with overwhelming support from her father. unfortunately she can't say the same about her mother, the two get along just fine as long as it isn't mentioned. before then, she would always tell others that she liked what she liked, and what was in their pants wasn't a factor she cared about or considered. when it comes to her luck with relationships, though, the handful she has been in only lasted a couple of months due to the lack of compatibility. miranda fancies the idea of being in love, but she isn't actively searching for it, though her occasional flirtatious personality says otherwise. until she finds the one she's looking for, harmless flings and flirtatious teases have been her go-to.

❝ miranda was born and raised in southern california with her parents and older brother. the state has a Mediterranean climate, consisting of hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters. miranda has lived in california her entire life, and has remained in the same general area though she has traveled to france with her family to see what life was like for her father when he grew up there. unlike miranda's older brother, she struggled to become fluent in french. she knows just enough to converse a little, and whenever her dad speaks to her in his native tongue, she's able to translate bits and pieces, but she's not confident enough to use the language more than she uses english.

❝ after graduating high school, miranda chose to attend chapman university with a major in history and a minor in africana studies in hopes of pursuing a career in the teaching field. miranda has always had a passion for teaching and a love for history so it only made sense for her to go after her dream and make it a reality. though miranda did manage to earn a scholarship or two for her hard work in high school, she still had to find a job to keep up with her monthly payments for her tuition. she managed to land a job at an elementary school located not too far from where she resided, becoming a part-time teacher's aide.

❝ miranda has a circular-shaped face, her features very round and cherubic. she has exceptionally soft and clear skin, clear skin was easy for her to achieve because her mother is all about health and self-care. miranda’s natural dark brown hair length stops at her shoulders though it's very thick and curly when worn in its natural state. she prefers to keep her hair in protective styles though to promote growth and it tends to come in handy with her busy schedule, she can't afford to do her hair every day. her eyelashes aren't very long unfortunately so she tends to wear falsies from time to time. her eyes are a dark brown, just like her dark locks. this all comes from her mother, who is a very pretty, mocha-skinned woman with dark brown hair and dark brown eyes to match. her features too are round and almost dainty looking, as she gets her facial structure from her as well.

❝ her body type is mesomorph, which helps her with keeping a healthy, curvy body shape. she is 5’6”, which feels like the perfect height to stand at, not too short and not too tall. miranda is very comfortable in her skin, as she worked really hard to gain and maintain her figure though growing up there was a period of wanting to change so much about herself. miranda has a small tattoo behind her right ear, it's her mother and father's thumbprints shaped to look like a heart. she has her ears pierced and she wears earrings often. miranda used to have a belly button piercing but she allowed for the piercing to close, leaving a small scar where the piercing used to reside.

❝ miranda wears whatever she feels that she looks good in. she doesn't limit herself to one kind of style. her mother has inspired most of miranda's style and even at twenty-three, she still asks her mom for her opinion on what to wear for the day. whereas when it comes to miranda's dad, he never cared too much about clothing. hell, if he could, he would just rotate the same six or seven outfits and mix and match constantly, if he could. miranda does wear makeup from time to time but she prefers to let her skin breathe without it. she loves to stack her go-to gold jewelry sets on top of each other and she refuses to leave the house until she has done so because she feels as if the jewelry "brings the whole fit together".

❝ [ RECORD STORES ] miranda would live in a record store if she could. she loves the overall atmosphere of them, and how at ease she feels. her older brother was the one who introduced her to the record store that he shops frequently at in their hometown. it wasn't long until she became a regular herself. she never fails to come out of the store with a record or two every time she goes, as a record player is her favorite way of listening to music.

[ BREAKFAST FOODS ] miranda's favorite meal of the day is easily breakfast. though, she’ll totally have breakfast foods for lunch or dinner too. she loves pancakes, french toast, smoothies, omelettes, the list goes on. she’s not sure why, but ever since she was a kid, going to places like ihop and restaurants known for brunch were her favorite. of course, she eats other foods, as living solely off of the things one would eat for breakfast isn’t exactly the healthiest idea.

[ BASS GUITARS ] though miranda doesn't know how to play herself, she considers herself to be her brother's biggest fan when it comes to his career in music. he was a bassist in a band he created back when he was in high school and he hasn't stopped playing since. 

[ EARLY MORNINGS ] miranda is usually not fully functioning before noon. in high school, she was late often due to struggling to wake up on time. it often makes people confused on how she ended up with such a high gpa. sure, she can wake up early, but she’s never really active or responsive to much of anything hence why she was sure to make all of her classes in college set for times around noon and later that evening. she’s more of a night owl, and has had her best ideas and is most productive in the very late hours of the night into early morning before she inevitably passes out. 

[ WINTER ] being from California, miranda has never truly endured real winter season and she's happy about it. she’s constantly complaining about how cold it is and it'll only be 60 degrees outside. the perfect california weather has definitely spoiled her. 

[ LIARS ] miranda hates all discrepancies and coverups, all withheld information and lies. she especially can't stand white lies, because if it was so small, why couldn't you just tell her the truth? she doesn't see the point in trying to cover up the truth and keep it from her when it's easier to come clean and be honest.

❝ being truly upset is a rare emotion for miranda, as she’s usually good at rationalizing what she feels. she can be a little self destructive when she’s angry, like refusing to eat or talk to others. she tends to think that trying to eliminate or completely remove herself from whatever made her upset is the best way to handle it, even when it’s something she should face head on. as far as sadness goes, seeing miranda as such is slightly heartbreaking. she truly looks heartbroken when she’s in sorrow or grief, and though she hardly ever cries, she often looks like she will.

❝ miranda tends to only think about whatever it is that gives her anxiety. she finds it hard to eat or sleep, and until whatever she’s dreading or anticipating comes to pass, her mind is fixated on it, no matter how hard she tries to distract herself. listening to music seems to be the only way to provide even the slightest relief. she is constantly thinking about the possible outcomes and what she can do to make the situation go right.

❝ it is easy to tell when miranda’s happy. she smiles and laughs with ease, and it’s rare that she’s ever in a bad mood. she’s not overly cheerful, and in fact, has a more nonchalant air about her. She’s a joy to be around, as her happiness radiates off of her and spreads to those who are willing to catch it.

❝ miranda is the stereotypical romantic drunk, that will literally flirt with anyone and anything.  she likes alcohol on occasion, and tries to be responsible with it, but some nights are more reckless than others. as for being high, she no longer smokes but when she did, she never failed to have an insatiable appetite, in which she’ll likely consume three huge bowls of cereal and whatever else she can get her hands on.

❝ antoine is definitely miranda’s role model. she was a daddy’s girl growing up, so she loves her father with all her heart. he raised her with manners and a kind heart. she honestly could credit him for making her who she is today, and he’d take that as the highest compliment because he admires who she’s become over her entire life. He’s definitely a proud father.

❝ her older brother, tyler was definitely a thorn in miranda's side growing up but they're still extremely close considering. tyler had moved to northern california after graduating from college which made it difficult for the two to see each other as often as they'd like. the two always dedicate time out of their days to video chat and catch each other up on different events going on throughout their lives and simply to share a laugh. around the holidays, the two meet at their parents' house for a little reunion. miranda has always looked up to tyler, she loves how carefree he is when it comes to living his life and she wished she could share that same lifestyle.
