Roland had smiled at the sight of the wyverns. It could help him get home. He had stepped forward but was stopped by the shifter. He jumped over it's tail and shouted at it to stop, getting irritated when the two screeched. The female clearly giving them warnings to back off. Roland's smile faded as he watched her for a moment. She wasn't trying to help. She was trying to kill. Once he'd realized this he ducked to the side away from the two and ran. He easily navigated through the trees and underbrush and it wasn't like ng before he could no longer see the two beasts and their cries faded into the distance.
He found himself alone. And he stopped to look around once more. Where was he? None of this was familiar. . . But. . . Would he even recognize his home? He'd been away for so long. . . Roland drew in a deep breath and let it out slowly. His flicker of hope at seeing the wyvern dashed. How could he get back to his tribe? He couldn't fly. Couldn't really do anything. . .

It was dark and Roland knew it was still several hours till morning light and when you glow in the dark it's difficult to hide. Roland stayed beneath the trees hoping they'd provide some cover as he moved, in less of a hurry now as he took his time. The dirt and grass soft under his bare feet and the moon's soft glow a comforting guide through the pathless night. He wondered aimlessly hoping to see something. One tree or stone that he knew. But he feared this was not the forest he'd been born in. This wasn't the home of his tribe. . . He heaved a heavy sighed closed his eyes, sliding down the trunk of a tree to sit with his knees drawn up to his chest, his head down and eyes closed. "quid hoc est?" He murmured to himself.
