The world as you know it is built upon lies.

Not just garden variety conspiracies about aliens or assassinations, but lies about just what kind of reality shattering entities are out in the world, lurking just in the dark.

It’s believed that if these entities became public knowledge, the ensuing panic could lead to utter catastrophe and the total collapse of society. In order to prevent this, the major nations of the world, under the utmost secrecy, have put together special units aimed at investigating, containing or destroying these entities. As time went on, it was discovered that not only did these units have to contend with creatures and objects that trumped a normal person’s worst nightmares, but with various organizations who aimed to expose these things to the world.

Tracing its history back to the end of the Second World War, both the Allies and the Axis had Paranormal Divisions tasked with locating Other-worldly beings and relics in the hope of turning the tide. When World War II ended, The Nazi’s occult research ended up being split between America and its allies, including the Soviet Union.

Most people believe that the Cold War was about who could amass a larger nuclear arsenal or who could put a man on the moon first. That narrative is preferable to the “other” truth that both sides were in a sort of arms race with all manner of Non-Human Entities.

As The Cold War came to an end, regimes changed and previously classified documents surfaced, The United Nations came to realize that individual governments couldn’t be trusted to police these creatures and objects on their own. From there, the U.N. Security Council sought to assemble its own special, secret unit to investigate, contain and - if necessary - destroy beings and objects not of this world.

Over the course of the unit’s existence, they performed their duties mostly in complete secrecy. When quiet disposal isn’t an option, the unit turns to disinformation or direct engagement.

Where do you think shows like “The X Files” got their inspiration from?

For some time now, this unit has been known as “The Section” and, while the exact size and number of personnel are unknown to most within it, personnel tend to fall under three umbrellas:

INVESTIGATIONS - The Investigations Branch of The Section looks for evidence of Non Human Entities. Ranging from old folk tales to alleged sightings, The Investigations Branch attempt to gather any evidence of such beings that can be acted upon later

RESEARCH - The personnel of The Research Branch are members of the scientific community who regularly work with Non Human Entities, whether through the conduction of various tests or performing autopsies.

OPERATIONS - The Operations Branch is the armed wing of The Section. With personnel coming from various Special Operations Units from across the globe as well as access to the highest quality weapons, equipment and vehicles, The Operations Branch is often prepared to combat nearly any threat that they encounter.
